Yeah he released a bunch of bops during that era, WDYM, Sorry, Love Yourself, Cold Water, LMLY, hell even ITO with DJ Khaled was catchy. I think out of his latest releases Intentions and Holy are good/decent pop songs (haven't heard Anyone). We have to stan Bieber because he's the reason MΓ got a second top 10 hit lol Lol Bieber doing charity

I don't follow all the metrics so I have a quick question. How is "Levitating" doing better than "Break Your Heart" with the lower airplay?

I don't follow all the metrics so I have a quick question. How is "Levitating" doing better than "Break Your Heart" with the lower airplay? More consistent in all metrics. BMH reached its Hot 100 peak with pretty much just airplay, long after the sales and streams were gone. Levitating is in the top 20 of overall airplay, iTunes, and Spotify, so it was able to peak higher (though I doubt it will outpeak DSN).

I feel like the same discussion goes on every week, I mean Radio vs Streaming, running in circles. :s We have no choice but to stream this timeless anthem. Let's get it back on the Hot 100, shall we?

Almost every 'hit' by those 'legends' in this Biebs Top 10s controversy were 'propped' by significant radio support. It's also why those artists are icons - their songs were heard everywhere because of radio.
Ask someone on the street if the can name one song from those legends, then ask if they can name a Lil Wayne song....
Did 'Circles' return? It's the ONLY reason I'm back in the H100 thread.

I love it but I wouldn't be surprised if the new releases push it out of top 10, so it just lingers in that 12-20 section where BMH landed.

It hurts to see Bang becoming a top 10 hit Also I Hope and Holy need to gtfo, they both are old news by now and suck They really should reduce the power of radio or fix the turnover rates of songs on radio cause its absurd that stuff like Body, 34+35, and good days aren't top 10 this week despite the massive streaming presence That's too bad for you. I am happy for AJR...Bang Bang Bang Happy New Year to them.

Radio and radio listeners are often dismissed here, particularly in favour of streaming. Yet, there have been times when a song does well in one metric out of nowhere and for a brief period of time, but doesnβt have radio support and some question the legitimacy of that hit. I think even if radio tends to be slow to change, we still somewhat rely on it to affirm whether a song is a hit or not. But some people want the main chart to be bland version of it based only on streaming thinking (close minded in my opinion) it's the only and valid way people consume music (that's what the Streaming Song chart is for, right?). Deniying the influence of radio is deluded and for those who want the end of radio, well you'll have to wait decades for that, it has survived for 100+ years now despited being declared "dead" multiple times, lol. Hot 100 is one of the few charts that still count radio. Wouldn't be surprised if they removed it at some point

And when the streams die down a bit... many songs become radio darlings and their performance improves such as longevity as in Blinding Lights or higher peaking as in Go Crazy.

Gone from the top 10 this week are two songs that may likely return again at some point
'All I Want For Christmas Is You' which will return around Thanksgiving
season endings stats --- 44 weeks on the chart, 15 weeks in the top 10, 5 weeks at #1, will hit the 52 week threshold if not next season then for sure Christmas '22
'Dynamite' has fallen out of the top 10 3 times before so who knows
'Mood' has had 4 separate stints at #1 for 8 weeks, if it was continuous we would be at week 13
Mood's streaming totals at #1 are the lowest for a #1 since Bieber's 'Sorry' in Feb 2016

Overall streaming increases all the time. It's just not the same core group of hip hop fans anymore Driving streaming, all playing the same few songs.

Most Billboard Hot 100 Top 10s 42, Drake 38, Madonna 34, The Beatles 31, Rihanna 30, Michael Jackson 29, Taylor Swift 28, Mariah Carey 28, Stevie Wonder 27, Janet Jackson 27, Elton John 25, Lil Wayne 25, Elvis Presley 23, Whitney Houston 23, Paul McCartney 23, The Rolling Stones 22, Justin Bieber 22, Eminem So they are all pop music legends - does Bieber really belong in that list? Mnjah, he is more like a product than the musician, so he should be thankful to his manager I guess. He is more famous than half the people on that list itβs not that shocking WHAT??????

The word "famous" I think depends on who is asking
Bieber is more familiar to the primary music consumer than many of the older acts on that list for sure

But I see them reducing radio's impact in the next 10 years Then they are just the same as every other chart. Radio will have to be pretty dead, worse than sales are, before they scrap their uniqueness and just have the same ole chart as everyone else.

t10, compared to t10 components (top 5 confirmed, other 5 based on totc predictions): mood - streaming 1, radio 1, sales 10 positions - radio 3, streaming 9 blinding - sales 4, radio 8, streaming 10 holy - radio 4 crazy - radio 2 anyone - streaming 2, sales 1 levitating - sales 5, radio 10 laugh - radio 5 bang - sales 2, radio 9 hope - radio 7
The four which are t10 in one component are all radio-driven. Only Kings & Queens missed the t10.
