I think this is truly going to stick around & get them back in the crossovers after all this time. As I’ve said previously it doesn’t really have any turnoffs for CHR like I feel Jumpsuit/Trench may have. It’s right up that alley & AAA’s as well. I hope it stays strong at Alt most of all of course.

KVYN, which I mentioned plays their currents a lot, seems to have picked this up. Should do better than LOC on AAA.

Why have they not sent this to pop yet?
I'm thinking "Choker" is going to be the big pop song. It's rumored to be released Friday.
Like the "Tear in My Heart" and then "Stressed Out" situation

Late to the game, but this is pretty good. I can see why it flew up the charts so quickly. Captures a little bit of everything that 21 Pilots does well - EDM foundations, rock melodies, emotional performance.

What I hate about these faster than a speeding bullet chart songs, is that you either jump on the train when it's put or find yourself charting it long after it's off the chart. It's a great song song and sounds better with each listen. I like the video with the shades of blue, but seriously was he trying to pass off as Bishop Briggs with those mini buns hairdo? Worst thing I've ever seen on top of a man's head. Like ver. ???

Top 30 on AAA:
40 30 TWENTY ONE PILOTS Shy Away 163 121 42 0.392
Their first on MB since 2016's "Ride", and will be their best performing adult alternative performer here and on Billboard.

That seems kinda weird to me, 92ZEW plays 21P a ton. But I guess they are more on the alternative side of AAA. I think this one is a decent fit for the format at least

Man this song is amazing. Other than “Ride”, this might be their best track since the “Vessel” era. It just feels like such classic 2000s Alternative music.

I just listened to that one before. I liked it much better than "Choker" as I'd compare the sound to where "Shy Away" kind of left off.

I'll be honest, there isn't a single song on this album I actively like. Off just 1 full listen, I guess. Shy Away is still...fine, and I kinda liked the instrumental on Formidable but likeeeee. I'm not charting anything from this. And I've liked 21P since Vessel

On their website, the is a place with words associated to each song, and the ones associated with singles are "marked" in a way. The words are "modesty" (Shy Away), "nervous" (Choker), "medicate" (Saturday). The last word is "information" which appears on both No Chances and Never Take It. If you'd ask me, I would rather Never Take It be the single. But if it was up to me to choose, the next singles (after Saturday) would be Formidable and The Outside

During the livestream experience, I think the album was advertised as including hits such as Shy Away, Choker, and Mulberry Street.

The album was a letdown, but not the same as Blurryface was. This album just feels like such a non-event where nothing really sticks out. This is nice though.

Yeah this album didn't live up to my expectations. I get a Foster The People vibe, which isn't bad, but I thought there would be more bangers. My highlights are Shy Away, Saturday, Mulberry Street, The Outside.

Got the album yesterday alongside Olivia Rodrigo’s record. Gonna have to judge for myself whether this one is their supposed weakest.
Anyways, going off the last post, I think they’re waiting too long to cross this over. With this being on par with the pop climate & its resilient success on rock radio, they have a smash in the making. I honestly hope “Level of Concern” didn’t just fluke out it’s minor dent because of its COVID themes. It will be nice to see them back in good graces again, not that they themselves really care though.

Still not the biggest fans of this band's vocals guy, but "Saturday" seems to be the next song I can really get into. Alt or not I wouldn't mind it charting.

As an update on my opinion of this record, it was kinda forgettable & rushed as a few others said. This is a standout but I think they have a few decent options left to make it a full era.

AAA will be a week or two behind ALT on this, but I wouldn't be surprised to see it go #1 on AAA. It has the right sound. If the highest they got to was top 30 (on Mediabase), I highly doubt this goes #1. 18 19 TWENTY ONE PILOTS Shy Away 310 335 -25 0.53 Peak: #15 Mediabase, #18 Billboard With WWCT lowering this in favor of "Saturday" and with the new releases, it's safe to say this is also not going to go up much. Still, this is their first top 20 on both charts (and 1st top 30 for Billboard), and it did manage to get several takers that normally don't touch this band. Weirdly enough, WMMM, who touched "Level of Concern", did not add this.
