I will echo a lot that's been discussed already. This is what I imagine you'd get if you chose 7 or 8 songs she's released and put them all in a blender. I can definitely hear the "Never Really Over" parallels, it's very similar to what I imagine that song would have sounded like in the style of the producers on this one.

So far, haven't really wanted to go back and listen to it again, but added it to my current playlist. It's a cute filler.

In terms of chart performance, I don't really see this doing much. Maybe could get a week in the lower third of the Hot 100, but this week will be very busy. Would be happy to be proven wrong though, part of me will always root for her.

This has grown on me a bit more. The fact that it is derivative of her past work makes this feel nostalgic and cozy. It's like seeing a good friend for the first time since the pandemic began. Like a warm hug. Something so familiar, yet brand new.

I don't see this doing much either, but I finally got to listen to it and it's great! I love it! As others have stated, this is classic Katy Perry and I co-sign the thought that this would fit perfectly on Smile; I bet it was originally going to be.

I have actually gone the opposite way and grown to dislike this. It's still decent playlist filler, but tbh I'd rather spam NRO again like I did for most of 2019 and 2020.

(Could also be because NRO is really one of the best pop tunes in recent years).

I don't disagree but even for a 2021 Katy Perry release it really made zero noise. I think the Pokemon team isn't really capable or interested in making a big deal out of this project (see also, the Post Malone song that they allowed to flop). It's probably gonna be the first time one of her singles misses even the Bubbling Under chart (partially because the competition is fierce right now).
