In other words, another slow week. And that seems to be the story of 2021 so far - outside of a country album bomb and a couple of big debuts, it’s been surprisingly quiet in terms of big releases. I know part of that is because Drake pushed back his album that was set to release this month, but it’s been interesting to see what songs are becoming hits organically in recent weeks without getting entirely stifled by such chart turbulence, even if the charts remain quite weak at the moment. |

We'll see if this becomes a relevant release or not, but Corpse's success has increased more and more with each release, the most successful of which ("E-GIRLS ARE RUINING MY LIFE") bubbled under the Hot 100 (#24) and #90 in The UK, being streamed over 90 million times on Spotify. This was originally released on YouTube a few months back.

We'll see if this becomes a relevant release or not, but Corpse's success has increased more and more with each release, the most successful of which ("E-GIRLS ARE RUINING MY LIFE") bubbled under the Hot 100 (#24) and #90 in The UK, being streamed over 90 million times on Spotify. This was originally released on YouTube a few months back. His Internet traction has increased hundred fold in last few months. E-girls is stable on streaming without any playlisting/label backing. Also tiktok is crazy abt him. It'll be interesting to see what's the fate of his much hyped mgk x corpse track that might drop nxt week, it'll probably be a huge hit but there's a shred of doubt whether mainstream audience will fw it since its a screamo/punk track |

Maybe I’m in the minority here, but I’m not so sure Blinding Lights is going to go back to #1 just because of the Super Bowl... drivers license is still almost doubling it in points and is making huge gains on radio, and BL will only start boosting on Sunday. I think it’ll be closer than we think.

It'll come back, unless there are any significant surprises (Drake, Rihanna, Adele or viral songs like WAP and drivers license). |

Of course I missed plenty of Canadians like Neil Young, Paul Anka, Carly Rae Jepsen, Alessia Cara, Belly, Kardinal Official, dvsn, Joni Mitchell, Feist, Jessie Reyez, ILoveMakonnen, etc, I was definitely not about to write every Canadian musician I know because I felt it was a nuisance to do it.
