How did they even somehow make Megan bland and basic sounding. Like, her part is the best part, but jesus. I don't get why they are allergic to making something with some pep or personality, especially because I genuinely think they excel at that and Adam is a great vocalist when he wants to be.
But, I guess like someone else said, this is their vibe now and they aren't interested in doing anything catchy or interesting anymore lol. They still get hits so what do I know.

Eh...it's an improvement in comparison to "Don't Wanna Know", "Wait", and "Girls Like You", but top 5 of their entire discography (including "Songs About Jane" and "It Won't Be Soon Before Long")?

Some of the the other band members are actually superb musicians too, which is part of the reason I am bummed they aren't utilized more, even within the songs themselves if not in videos or promo or whatever.

It's playing now, but the Spotify playlisting is still wonky - it doesn't seem to be on any major playlists other than New Music Friday and Pop Rising. Adam and Megan have the cover photo for a playlist called Just Good Music, but then the song doesn't appear on the playlist. Hovering over the pop bars right now, it's showing that it has 1.5 million streams so far, but that's global.

The lyric video hasn't reached 1 million views yet and I'm pretty sure there were no uploading issues there. Somehow Apple is the place where it's streaming best, not that this is saying much (it's currently in the 90s there).

I'm ambivalent to the song myself, but this is a very confusing underperformance.

I was just listening to this with headphones and it sounded pretty excellent. Okay let's say Top 5 since Songs About Jane. I do adore that era.

Bands are still prevalent just not in the mainstream scene because mainstream isn't seeking them out due to not necessarily being the most popular in modern trends
Deftones, Arctic Monkeys, The Strokes, Wolf Alice, The 1975, Vampire Weekend, HAIM, White Reaper just to name current bands

Anyways the song also sucks, sorry Megan not even you could save it
