You might hate "WAP" but you can't argue that it was different and memorable (and it made sense for a provocative, confident rapper like Meg). Can't say Maroon 5 has tried hard in like seven or eight years. Anyways let me leave real quick before that Maroon 5 stan comes in with all the airplay stats as proof of quality.  |

I cannot see Megan Thee Stallion and current Maroon 5 on a song together. But to be fair, I couldn't see Cardi B or Kendrick Lamar either, yet "Girls Like You" remix and "Don't Wanna Know" exist.
Guess I'll have to keep an open mind and see how it goes, but I can't say I have high expectations for this. Hoping it's more "Sugar" remix than "Girls Like You" remix, because Megan's fiery attitude and flow don't deserve to be wasted on a bland AC ballad.

As Maroon 5 is so dated I wonder how much Meghan "Thee Hot" Stallion got money from them. As Adam has earned at least some millions being a TV star, he has no problem throwing his money away. Because to be honest Meghan won't help to restart Maroon's career, although it could hurt hers. but if the track will disappear quickly, maybe most people will not even notice it. And as Meghan's own stardom might not last longer than couple of albums any big money would help. And big money it has to be - Levine would "du" anything to be on the spotlight!

I don't even remember "Nobody's Love"??? I usually buy most of their stuff.. I just listened to it and it's not bad. How bad did it do?To have an idea, the song debuted and peaked at #41, their first single since 2011 to miss the top 30 (not counting "Feelings", which was the fifth single from an already massively successful era). It only spent 10 weeks on the Hot 100, which is pretty low for a Maroon 5 major release (they have 23 songs with 20+ weeks). To make matters worse, the band's usual strength - airplay - was deplorable this time around, where the song failed to crack the top 10 on both mainstream and AC. I also remember the song free-falling at a point, which again, is very unusual for a radio darling like Maroon 5. And yeah, the song is actually pretty decent, and coming from the success of "Memories", its underperformance came as a shock. |
