Jon Pardi Rankdowns: Heartache Medication (FINISHED!)

Welcome to the Jon Pardi Rankdowns!

Jon Pardi is one of the better country artists to emerge from the 2010s decade. His music is known for its neotraditional (AKA 70s/80s sounding, AKA stone-cold, some purists would say AKA real) country sound, each song a diehard country music fan's wet dream, laced with pedal steel, fiddles, and more. He has released three studio albums and eleven singles, three of which have reached #1 on country radio--even in a time when it kinda felt like the style of Jon Pardi's kind of country was long gone from the airwaves. And I'm happy to have the chance to rank these albums with y'all!

I wanted to open this as soon as possible because I'm launching each of these rankdowns at the same time, with due dates in quick succession to one another. Opening these now gives y'all roughly a month and a half to get a head start on this, because these rankdowns will be due throughout April and the very beginning of May. However, please don't feel a need to submit all of these at one time!!! You're welcome (and quite frankly I encourage you) to do these one at a time--I won't truly close submissions out for any album until I've finished revealing the previous one. With that said, here we go!

EDIT: We're actually gonna just treat this like a regular album series, because doing it in quick succession is proving to be too overwhelming for people, when you factor in other rankdowns, including much larger ones like the Dolly Parton and 1990 Country rankdowns, which require starting work on them months in advance.

 Just a heads-up that I'm counting the six B-Sides tracks as bonus tracks to Write You A Song since they stem from the same era! It didn't make sense to me to put them in the Extras so I lumped them together with his debut album! So when ranking for the album, be sure to spin both!

Okay, this is ridiculously hard. Write You A Song album is a JAM. Combining the B-Sides with Write You A Song is incredibly unfair.

Trying to rank California Sunrise is going to make my brain explode.

Hi y'all! As I've said in a few other threads now, this past month was insanely trying for me and I wound up focusing on life priorities and put my rankdown duties on the back burner in the process. Now that things have settled down somewhat, I have found a nice spot during the month of June to get these albums done! I know June seems unnecessarily far away, but I didn't have that many lists for these to begin with (if you HAVE sent a list, I have it!) and this was as close as I could find. I'm going to need to space Adele and Jon Pardi from one another, as I am doing their album rankdowns in the same fashion, meaning that if I had them both due in May, on top of the other rankdowns I have planned for May, I would wind up crashing and burning.

So now y'all have nearly two months to get Write You A Song/The B Sides done, but with two months you could also easily do all the rest of the series  ;)

Here I go again with another change, but it's a change that desperately needs to happen.

There have been--for quite some time now--far too many country rankdowns happening at one time for anybody to keep up, and it's gotten to the point that it's so overwhelming that people are beginning to lose motivation. There's really only a couple of us that have more than 4-5 rankdowns open at once, and I'm admittedly one of those people--with eight currently open country rankdowns. Well, no longer! Listen up:

You now only need to get Write You A Song/The B Sides submitted to me, and the due date of Sunday, May 30 remains the same. If you have already submitted the rest of the rankdown lists, that's alright! You can just wait patiently for all of those reveals  ;)  As for everyone else, you still have nearly two months for the first album! I'll relaunch the other albums when the previous is fully revealed.

Good LORD! Time has flown by and slipped by me and I have done a terrible job at reminders for this; in fact I haven’t done a single one! That’s on me; apologies! I do still have seven lists including my own, so it’s still a pretty good turnout so far.

I am going to be keeping the May 30 deadline, because there is FAR too much going on in the country rankdown world, especially in June, for me to tack anything else on. So you have ELEVEN DAYS to get a list in for WYAS/B Sides! Since this is such short notice, I’ll allow a few days of grace, but will have it out of the calendar and into the presenting column right at the end of the day on May 30, so be sure to let me know if you’ll need additional time!

I'm gonna start making this rankdown a major priority as, other than My Savior, it's my next country rankdown to be due! So reminders are now going to become a major priority!

There is exactly one week left to submit lists for Write You A Song/The B Sides! I've got eight lists so far, which is pretty great, but I'm missing some notable names. Remember that I'm not extending this because it's been open for nearly two months already, and there are far too many 50-100+ song rankdowns due throughout June for me to try and extend this to a date during that month. No matter if I have 12-15 lists or the eight I have, I'm closing things next Sunday night! (Unless of course like a few days will be needed; I know I had pretty much abandoned this one for a month before reminding y'all it existed)

Goodness gracious!!!! It's high time to officially close this, at the very least.

I apologize for the massive delays on all of my rankdowns, including this one! Life is just...doing the most at the moment. I only just got over a random bout of depression which was pretty extreme and came right around the time that my eldest dog Coco passed away; and to top it all off, my new job started last week and so I've had to adjust to the third shift schedule! (And that has NOT been easy  )

I received an additional three lists in the two weeks since May 30, and those are the final participants to have come in. I'm going to finish the Carrie Underwood My Savior rankdown, and then will come right back to Jon Pardi and reveal these results in tandem with Shania's Extras...which I have left on the shelf for even longer   Results are coming soon!

1. What will be #1? Depends on the ferocity of how much people are Pardi fans. Up All Night is the safe bet for the casual Pardi fan, IMO. There are so many better songs IMO. What I Can't Put Down is my dark horse.

Up All Night, What I Can't Put Down, Trash A Hotel Room. When I've Been Drinkin', Missin' You Crazy. I'd love to see Happens All The Time sneak in...

This is quite difficult to guess, because these two albums are consistent.

Write You A Song is a very strong album, with three solid singles and some great album tracks.
I didn't know anything from B-Side other than Back On The Backroad, but still quite a solid collection of songs, if not as great as the album.  
I really like this series, and California Sunrise is my fav by Pardi, so ready to rank that as well!
