He once again stays owning my ass 🤩🥳 Really? Because I assumed given the lyrics of this song he was a bottom.

This might be a pointless question but would that performance be considered cultural appropriation? I guess, but nobody seems to care. It's very stereotypical Egyptian imagery so it's not like he's really appropriating a culture that hasn't been appropriated in a billion pieces of media at this point. As long as it's more tasteful and Lil Nas X isn't totally shitting on or making a mockery of the culture, I don't see an issue with it. But I'm not Egyptian, so my opinion doesn't matter. I remember the video for Katy Perry's Dark Horse being picked apart a bit, but that was more about a pendant she was wearing in the video that said "Allah" on it, and that was digitally removed a few days after release. Nobody seemed to care after that.

Nobody seemed to care after that. Dark Horse is what made me think it. I don't claim to know anything about Egyptian culture, or fully understand what is considered cultural appropriation and what is not, which is more why I asked. There definitely seems to be no backlash about it anyway so I must be seeing something that isn't there

Anyway, now that this is experiencing a second wind in the Top 10, I think dropping the album in July would be the right move. The song can probably go back in the Top 5 if he releases the whole album soon.

Granted, there is evidence that ancient Egyptian race was neither white nor black and that skin tones varied geographically throughout ancient Egypt. But some people get free passes on certain things, others don’t; but it’s whatever. Lil Nas X’s performance was really good and I love the high visual production he is serving us this year.

As much as I love "KMM", I'd rather Lil Nas X get the #1 peak before losing his shot altogether from Olivia. His song isn't just a pop song, it's a moment for LGBTQ representation and means a lot more IMO.

Well, it could since there's only 280 spins between those two songs, but that would mean this would need to get at least a +280 tomorrow and Doja/SZA gain nothing, and I think it's unlikely, since that's been getting triple digits all week long as well POP

That's all fine and dandy, but vithor was responding to your claim that it was likely that Lil Nas X would hit #1 this week. It's a (very slim) possibility because they aren't separated by that many spins, but considering that Doja Cat is gaining at about the same rate he currently is, and has been for a few weeks now, it is not likely for him to pass her to hit #1 first unless she just stops gaining out of nowhere.

I said that it *could* not that it *would* actually (and there were several people who were commenting on this possibility aside from myself). And yes, I also said that *before* today's update when things were a bit more in the air. Let's not suddenly pretend that Doja wasn't slowing the last few days while Nas started blowing up (in spins). I mean she had a +8 spin gain the other day. Lol But yes, reiterating info that was already discussed, it is now unlikely.

That was the most pointless argument ever. I'm sure all three will have a turn at #1.
Levitating, Kiss me more, Call me by your name and Good 4 U. Now that's some good back to back #1's if it does indeed eventuate.
