Those conservatives upset and all in their feelings are mad that Satan is getting grinded up on and twerked on by a beautiful, sexy man and they are not. They are in no position to be offended when all that sexual abuse stuff is going on in the church. Why don't they put all of their fervor and outrage into addressing that?

It’s not because this is a meme song, this is homophobia. Taking this long to get into the top 50 is because stations are scared to support gay art

Didn't they carry Holiday near top 20? It might be the controversy but I do think the label dropped the ball or maybe didn't expect it to be such a big deal that it would actually need any airplay.

Was WAP not getting spins because of Pussyphobia? These type of songs with controversial music videos generally never receive a lot of airplay. I never expected this song to be big on the radio. But you really can’t say radio is “homophobic” when they recently supported Sam Smith’s singles and he’s been very flamboyant. This is a very polarizing situation and radio is going to treat it just like they’ve treated everything else that came with controversy.

Has anyone thought about how SUS it looks for Billboard to delay this week's Hot 100 chart news because of the holiday, but the Billboard 200 news came out ON THE HOLIDAY??
WTH is going on?? Are they trying to pull Peaches through for a second week, even though the numbers would make that nearly impossible?

Curiously i'm not that sure being flamboyant plays against a singer (and there are a good bunch of even straight examples), in fact i remember back in the day people saying that if Sam Smith was a handsome non flamboyant young man there would be no way his label would let him come out. American radio was always pretty conservative, things changed (right now is not that rare to have one or two openly gay or bi singers on the chart). Sam simply took Elton John's place (and to be fair i think Sam's career could have been even bigger if the people behind them did a better job, because releasing three ballads to start and waiting that much for a second album was a big mistake). I will be curious how radio will react to a non obvious openly gay singer

I'm guessing they tabulate the BB200 & write the article on Friday because the album chart tracks Friday-Thursday. so they can easily just schedule to publish it on the day preceding the Hot 100, even though it's a public holiday. Hot 100, on the other hand, includes weekend airplay figures, so they probably require a business day to put it all together.

I've always thought the tabulating itself is probably automated enough that the only reason they delay is for the article and the write-ups.

Apparently it's just a little late. I've always thought the tabulating itself is probably automated enough that the only reason they delay is for the article and the write-ups. They probably don't put in numbers by hand or anything, but they probably do have to double check everything & make sure all the charts are ready to go. I'm guessing that's why we don't get the charts until Tuesdays, anyway. And Wednesdays when they have the Monday off.
