Album of the Year - We Are It becomes yet another AOTY winner that lost in its genre category (Arcade Fire and Mumford & Sons as well, maybe others).

Brothers Osborne put on a killer show so Iβm not mad at them getting the finale slot.

Now we need the best performance poll. Who's making that at this second?

For those not familiar with Jon Batiste prior to tonight, I'd say this is a good place to start:

All in all, this was a very good Grammys. Very genre-balanced in terms of performances. The producers have been taking notes.

This was a solid show. Funnily enough, I can't say most of the performances were even that good (seriously, so many people bombed). But I loved most of the televised winners and it went by breezily. I was entertained!

I feel like we could've gotten more performances from the BNA nominees, but good show overall. Can't complain about the winners really aside from Billie going home empty-handed.

last performance was the worst of the night. Justin Bieber singing "badass bitch" in piano ballad form automatically qualifies his as the worst sorry

I don't know if there were any that I'd rank among the best of all time (I might name Billie's performance my fav) but the only one that bordered on bad was Bieber.

Really wish Olivia could have snatched AOTY! ROBBED! Just shows thatβs the album can still be such a force and cultural phenomenon but still anyones game, especially with vote splitting and 10 nominees this year. This is reminding me of the year Beck won. Iβll have to listen to We Are, his performance was good so Iβll check it out.

Not a fan at all of Jon Batisteβs music, but considering the last black winner of Grammy AOTY was 2008 he at least represents something thatβs been a long time coming, and hopefully it wonβt be a 14 year gap until the next one.

I think my memory is skewed because some of the biggest names were bad. BTS, Gaga, Bieber straight up bombed. And I found HER, J Balvin, and Lil Nas X underwhelming. Everyone else was pretty solid.

I don't foresee anything going as viral this year.
