I'm actually starting to think that Alan Jackson might be able to pull off having both of his songs in the top ten. You should always follow your gut instinct! 7. One artist or group have two songs in the top 10. Who might that be? Shenandoah I guess? Those two #1 hits of theirs were huge.

Here in the Real World" was released by Alan Jackson in January 1990 as the second single and title track from his debut album Here in the Real World. It would go on to become his first Top 10 country hit as it peaked of number 3 on theBillboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart. This was able to maintain its top 20 status for the duration of the rankdown and even was able to briefly climb into the top 3 early on in its run. It was propelled into there by both myself and Kanenrá:ke who came in early with back-to-back top 10 rankings. That was followed up by a near top 20 from ClevelandRox as well as a top 15 from kw9461. And just like that, it someguy pulled the rug out from under it with a bottom 10 ranking (seriously though what is up with all these random bottom 10s?!) which shot this straight out of the top 15 altogether. It would hover just outside of that until the last quarter as it would pick up some additional support from within the top 25 and 30. Luckily taylor's final list brought this up a couple of more spots where it would eventually come to a rest.

Stats for #11:
Leaving four spots shy of the top 10 is our next song which yo-yoed in and out of the top 20 during its run. While only one participant placed this in their top 10, the majority of the group ended up putting this somewhere within the top 25. Only three participants actually placed this outside of their top half.

I'm hoping it is Alan Jackson that misses the Top 10 and not Shenandoah. The force is strong with you I sense!

I'm hoping it is Alan Jackson that misses the Top 10 and not Shenandoah. The force is strong with you I sense! well I just wanted Shenandoah to have 2 in the Top 10 over Alan Jackson but sad to see him miss the Top 10 altogether. Despite my rankings for him I do think he should have made the top 10, though what shouldn't have made it is not as easy to say.

"Wanted" was released by Alan Jackson in May 1990 as the third single from his debut album Here in the Real World and peaked at number 3 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart. And just like that, both of Alan's last two remaining songs exit back-to-back with "Wanted" missing the top 10 by only a mere four points. This in fact yo-yoed in and out of the top 20 over the course of its run and in the middle would find itself on the outside looking in of the top 25. That only happened in part due to it receiving its two lowest rankings from someguy and then 🌺CountryLineDancer. It would rebound slightly only to then to move outside of the top 20 once more. Luckily, some additional support would come as the rankdown was winding down with a lone top 10 from bboat11 as well as two top 15s from gardyfan and taylor.

Not bad at all! Rooting for my #3 and #4 for sure, but I feel like my #57, which is my lowest rank remaining, has a shot of winning this.

I would love it if my top 2 is the top 2, but Pulse's hatred for one of those artists makes it a long shot to fill that dance card.

"I'm Gonna Be Somebody" was released by Travis Tritt in May 1990 as the third single from his debut album Country Club and peaked at #2 on Billboards Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart. This got a head start thanks to its first of three top 5 rankings from CoJoFan with both kw9461 and castleoblivion26 not following too far behind. It would maintain its top 10 status for all of its middle run and only dipped outside of that a couple of times when it picked up a lone bottom 20 from ccarter1023. Including him, all but three participants didn't put this in their top half.

Stats for #9:
Ironically, our next song is what kept "I'm Gonna Be Somebody" from reaching #1 on the charts. Speaking of, someone will lose their #1 here along with another top 5 and two top 10s. All but two participants put this in their top half.

I like this a lot, and Shenandoah, but this felt out of place in the top 10 to me. Great song though, and #9 is a really good placement for it.

"Next to You, Next to Me" was released by Shenandoah in June 1990 as the lead-off single from their album Extra Mile. It was a Number One hit and was also the band's longest-lasting number 1 as it topped the charts for three consecutive weeks.at three weeks. This being such a strong top 10 contender likely comes a surprise to most as it all but maintained that status once it found its way there. It was benefited by the fact that all but two participants put this outside of their top half with almost half of the others coming from within the top 20. Of those, both castleoblivion26 and Cody Wants Out... lose a top 10 while 🌺CountryLineDancer loses a top 5. And unfortunately for kw9461, they become the next participant to lose their #1 song.

"Next To Me, Next To You" features probably my favorite fiddle track of all time. Such an iconic jam that always puts a smile on my face. Was really hoping it could find a way into the top 5.

This has me thinking that they need a proper greatest hits album. I would buy it for sure. Their earlier hits albums exclude "I Want To Be Loved Like That" and everything from In The Vicinity Of The Heart and beyond (which is the album of theirs that I do own).

As long as Garth doesn't win (which I can't imagine he will), then I'll be at least okay with anything else left taking it.

"Home" was Joe Diffie's debut single and was released in August 1990 as the lead-off single from his debut album A Thousand Winding Roads. "Home" rose to the top of all three major country format charts that were in existence at the time — Billboard, Radio & Records, and the now-defunct Gavin Report — marking the first time in chart history that a country singer's debut single had done so. This comes in as the second least polarizing song of which everyone placed inside their top half (one of only two in the rankdown). While this did start off at its highest position thanks to a near top 5 from CoJoFan, it was a very consistent top 15 contender for its entire run with it only dipping outside of that once as its third lowest rank came in. The majority of the group in fact placed this somewhere within their top 30 of which includes three top 20s and a second top 10 from kw9461.
