Pulse's ambivalence towards X's death incoming ...
Yes he was homophobic and in many ways an embodiment of toxic hyper-masculinity (i mean look no further than the lyrics and imagery in "Where the Hood At?"), but a lot of that vicious bigotry is a socio-cultural symptom of urban poverty and structural racism. Definitely not excusing it by any means, but if we have collectively moved past the "missteps" from someone who should've known better like Post Malone, than we should be able to forgive X at least during his mourning period.
I mean most rappers during the 90s and early 2000s were anti-LGBTQ because LGBTQ wasnβt as accepted back then (and it still is an issue in the rap community to this day, look at Lil Nas X and how he isnβt being considered as a rapper because heβs gay).

I'm slightly discouraged by today's radio update for "Leave the Door Open". I hope it's just an anomaly and not indicative of its performance in the near future. I'd hate to see it stall on airplay the way "Old Town Road" did in June 2019. The record for highest kWorb aud ever is 305.41, set by Happy on April 4, 2014: kworb.net/radio/archives/20140404.htmlOnly one song (drivers license) on today's list has over one-third (101.80) of Happy's peak kWorb aud. This is really putting things into perspective. :O

^Many radio updates changes seemed lower than usual. The biggest drops were larger than usual. Probably the outliers were the two new songs that appeared for the first time.

The losses for the radio are so ridiculous, only two songs in the top 10 that gained? This is just pathetic at this point.

Is it not a stretch to predict that Save Your Tears could be the next overall radio #1?
EDIT: Actually, I do think LTDO will be next, but SYT could overtake it if it somehow loses momentum soon.

I havent heard the f word in a rap song in ages, even tho a couple years ago like asap rocky lil wayne and eminem loved it. Somronr correct me if mainstream rapprrs still say the f word.

Talk of the Charts @talkofthecharts "Film Out" by @bts_twt is predicted to debut at #1 on this week's Digital Song Sales chart. It would replace the group's own "Dynamite".
well then.

I guess so but there is still a little bit of homophobia left in the rap community. With the rappers themselves, maybe. With the audience...
I've seen some Disqus threads recently on rap-centered websites, it is absolutely vile in there. :|

Lil Nas X sings more than he raps. I actually believe that people try to say that Lizzo and he are just rappers because they are Black

I'd say LNX is a rapper, albeit a melodic one. Lizzo I haven't listened enough of her music to say, although my understanding is she's a singer who used to be a rapper and had the poor luck of having hee big hit be a rap song.

This news probably means that Montero gets a 2nd week at #1 on the Hot 100, unless Film Out debuts really high on the Hot 100 (higher sales numbers will certainly help LTDO more with the physical sales and CDs).

That conclusion doesnβt work because Digital Song Sales only factors, in case you canβt tell from the name, digital sales. For example, Franchise was the top sales song on the week of its debut thanks to physical sales, but wasnβt #1 on Digital Song Sales.

The music video for Montero (Call Me by Your Name) remained at #1 in the weekly US YouTube music video chart, but lose almost two-thirds of its weekly views. Beat Box (First Day Out) rose 50-2, deja vu 51-4, Who I Smoke 12-5 and Dancing with the Devil debuted at #8. Tombstone dropped 3-6 and Peaches 4-11.
