Isn't he already done for? If my memory serves me right, Blueberry Faygo is still his only hit. He released a bunch of singles after that which didn't do anything so I wouldn't bother worrying about him if I were you. He also had a moderate hit with "Noticed", but other than that I don't think he's had any other hits. I don't think he has much of a fan base either, so I don't know how likely it will be he can do anything after this.

Stuck In A Dream did decent on streaming, and I want to say Kamikaze did something. So four succesful-ish songs max.
May he rot in jail.

In lighter news, Slime Language 2's deluxe came out. Don't know how much impact it'll have, but I could see it help it on the album charts some.

This POS literally has no talent, a horrendous personalty, and does lots of garbage shit. Why is he popular again? Say what you want about 6ix9ine, but at least he’s smart enough at managing and elongating his career, something that Lil Mosey is unable to do. Plus unlike Lil Pump, he isn’t a meme.

It's obvious that no one needs it, except the label for chart/streaming purposes

Loving the SYT remix. Her voice goes very well with Abel's. Hopefully this is what's needed to get it to #1. Watched the video and streamed the song. Let's go!

Plot Twist: Abel is just trying to break his #4 curse man give him some slack (Call Out My Name and I Feel It Coming both sadly got capped at this position).

If SYT hits no. 1, The Weeknd will be only the 2nd artist, exactly 30 years, since Janet with Rhythm Nation, to have an album scoring at least 1 Hot 100 no. 1 in 3 different years. - Janet 1989, 1990, 1991 - The Weeknd 2019, 2020, 2021 of course none of Janet's no 1s needed remix.

Do we know if Abel and/or Ari are selling physical copies of the remix on their websites? If so, that will probably be a good indicator that the song will go to #1 this week.

^^Interesting, thanks both of you.
I wouldn’t be surprised if they pull a similar late-week stunt to gun for #1, though.

It would of course have been difficult for any album to do this pre-Soundscan since chart runs for singles were so short. It's impressive Janet did so, but it took releasing 7 singles with the first being late in one year and the last being early in the third year to do it. Paula Abdul nearly did it with Forever Your Girl but "Straight Up" hit #1 in early 1989 instead of the year it was released. That album produced 4 #1s and another top 10 within 1 year. George Michael got 4 #1s off Faith in less than one year (Mariah and likely others did as well). Now 1 single can last a full year.

Chart runs were shorter but singles were released one at a time rather than all at once
Harder to do that sort of thing now I think

Chart runs were shorter but singles were released one at a time rather than all at once Harder to do that sort of thing now I think "Save Your Tears" wasn't released at the same time as the other singles from the album. I'm also not sure how we can say it's harder (or easier) when it's been done so few times. I mean, how was it ever easy? Lol. I think it's harder now to get a lot of #1s from the same album, but if an artist can get a few #1s from the same album it's easier for them to be spread across multiple years.

What I meant was when an album is released it is all available at the same time and all singles are eligible to chart. Save Your Tears for example - charted for 2 weeks a year ago. multi year runs of successive singles are harder now because in the second year everyone has already heard the songs
In the 80s that couldn't happen

Save Your Tears for example - charted for 2 weeks a year ago. multi year runs of successive singles are harder now because in the second year everyone has already heard the songs In the 80s that couldn't happen Every song on Rhythm Nation 1814 was available at the same time, and everyone had heard those songs, too. Being eligible to chart is a different point, but people heard "Love Will Never Do" long before it hit #1. "Love Will Never Do" also didn't have the benefit of a remix with a guest artist, which is what it's taking for "Save Your Tears" to have a chance at #1 so...

To only those who bought the album and not just the single Sure.
Nowadays all widely available for free and every track can chart from day one.
