Not "radio payola" being used as something against The Weeknd. I am sure that user would never be able to find any proof of this "payola" besides whatever made up garbage that is on stan Twitter.

this kind of BS is rare to see, I'll give you that Did you see the bad callout scores ? The song obviously didn't rise organically on radio Bad callouts aren't the only thing radio uses in determining if a song is successful or not. We have seen time and time again that songs with good sales/streaming can continue. Stations also have their own callouts which typically aren't released to the public, which focus more on listeners in the local area. If those listeners like the song, they'll keep playing it.

Not a Chris Brown fan complaining about payola when payola was the only reason Go Crazy came back to the Top 10

People really need to stop saying "payola", because the fact of the matter is they only point out high radio when it's for artists they don't like. Save Your Tears is a hit, just stop.

On a separate note, Did anyone see the radio updates today? What happened and how will this effect the hot 100?

The last album to spawn 4 charttoppers without any gimmicks or re-releases would indeed by Mariah Carey’s debut. Wow. It's crazy to think it's been 30+ years!

“Go Crazy” is a good song but I’m a bit baffled by its longevity. Is it streaming well?
I’m not a Chris Brown fan either but I like the song. Probably heard it way too many times at work, but it beats the alternative rap that’s flooded the mainstream.

“Go Crazy” is a good song but I’m a bit baffled by its longevity. Is it streaming well? Nope. It's only carried by radio. The only time it had any good streaming was back in August.

Actually, Mariah’s debut album did not originally have Love Takes Time on it. The song was ‘stripped on’ several weeks after Vision of Love got to #1. Not a gimmick, but a notable situation.

Radio’s impact really should be limited in the equation...
It would create a more “accurate” chart but I know more people would feel out of touch with the charts. Pop music would fall further down the hole that it is now.

that's really cute, but did you know that Go Crazy is the only radio #1 song that didn't peak in the top 10 on streaming or digital sales, in streaming era? or possible ever? that's cool..and it's eligible for 3x platinum certification in the USA without peaking in top 10 on digital sales or streaming. it's still charting on hot 100 and it secured a second year inside of Hot 100 Year-End songs .. this is what we call longevity!! Wow.. congrats!!

I wonder the effect it will have on points, considering that the chart is already as weak as it is. I don’t think Mediabase audience recalibrations usually affect Billboard? I mean, the multipliers will definitely have to be adjusted, but I don’t recall similar recalibrations affecting Billboard’s numbers all that much in the past.

I actually am wondering the same thing. Everyone’s points on payola have been dead right. There’s always been manipulation to some extent here...

It was put on the album before it was ever released. There are a few copies that don't have the song listed, but it's still on the album.

Leave Me Alone wasn't on original LP/cassette versions of Bad, btw. Not big deal but relevant to the topic.

What is the most recent album to spawn 3 #1’s, remix or not?
I would have said Post Malone but it doesn’t appear that way.

Hollywood’s Bleeding was close, it could’ve had 4 number 1s but Wow. and Goodbyes both peaked at 2. Edit: To answer your question, the only one I can think of recently is Scorpion with God’s Plan, Nice for What and In My Feelings.

Didn't Levitating debut with bad callouts? And look at the song's longevity on streaming. That proves that callout scores mean nothing, opinions of a few thousand people shouldn't represent what millions of people want to listen.

It’s such a cop-out when having any discussion because there’s no proof that supports the claim, but also no way to deny it in a way that shuts people up. It’s lazy and almost not worth engaging with people who cry payola in every other thread.
