This is also reminiscent of the "Shadow Dancing"/"Baker Street" situation from 1978, where "Baker Street" allegedly got robbed from a week at number one. From Stereogum: I love that Stereogum column. Wonder if he's going to mention all this whenever he gets to 2021 if "Levitating" never gets to #1. I am literally reading today's entry right now! It's great, and the comment section is fantastic - the most civil and polite discussions you'll find in an internet comment section. For those of you with an interest in chart history, the column is three times a week - Monday, Wednesday, and Friday - and is definitely worth checking out.

I get upset every time I'm reminded her most-streamed song on Spotify is "I Don't Wanna Live Forever" from the Fifty Shades Soundtrack, with almost DOUBLE the streams as her #2 (which is "Shake It Off," I believe). Itโs LWYMMD (628M). iirc it was available on Spotify upon release so that makes sense omg it's not in her Top 10 most popular on Spotify so I missed that

Just chill , please ๐คฃ Is it, or is it not a violation of the rules to use homophobic slurs against BTS? None of the members have publicly stated how they identify and using a slang word implying they are gay is not OK, even moreso if they don't identify as being gay. This is no better than intentionally using he/him pronouns to a transgender woman. It's intended to be purposely disrespectful.

people dragging LTDO when it's doing #1 H100 #1 Airplay #2 Digital Sales #10 Streams but crickets for Ariana's Radio-fueled songs this Era We are all side-eyeing "pov" at the moment but there's not much else we can do. "positions" and "34+35" were NOT radio fueled tho. They streamed really well. They streamed fine early on, but the length of their chart runs was primarily due to radio. kimberly you showed peaks, but what were the positions late in the top 10 run for "positions," for instance? Wasn't it out of the top 20 in both streaming and sales yet still top 10 on the Hot 100 due to airplay?

It's not even half as bad. Stan twitter call everyone twinks on daily basis. He is doing it on purpose like before but it's not as serious to compare it to mispronounce transgender person. Also Army calls BTS gay everyday.

back to Levitating.. imagine believing that it's bigger than DSN if it went no.1.. DSN deservedt chart peak is not everything tho.. she'll still get it I'd argue that "Levitating" is on its way to becoming a bigger hit than "Don't Start Now", at least in the US. It currently has 19 weeks in the top 10 and hitting new peaks, while "Don't Start Now" was nearing the end of its 20-week top 10 run, so unless it suddenly collapses somehow, "Levitating" is gonna have more longevity.

"radio-fueled" songs on this week's the Hot 100: "leave the door open" - 47% airplay "my ex's best friend" - 53% airplay "what you know bout love" - 51% airplay "34+35" - 50% airplay "you broke me first" - 54% airplay "positions" - 62% airplay "therefore I am" - 56% airplay

I actually lost a dear friend to suicide because a$$holes called him names like "twink" relentlessly. He was not gay. He was soft spoken, gentle, kind and got the living sh!t bullied out of him over it, so yeah, it IS just as serious as someone purposely trying to antagonize and being an a$$ over a transgenders person's pronouns.

Is there an option to block forum members!? I try to be open minded and not block anyone/read all opinions but this popcentaur "person" is something else, I can't stand it anymore, how freakin' annoying, ugh.

Just so everyone stops asking, to block someone just click on their name and you'll see a little gear thing next to send message and you'll see block member and click it.
Spoiler alert though, it's really not effective at all.

I have a lot of experience with this. Click the name of the person who you want to block. Then on there profile page, click that round button on the right and then the option to Block Member is there. Then you can block some or all aspects of the member. Then click Block Member to save. Done. You're welcome.

I don't want to ingratiate with anyone here, they are literally pixels for me. But you literally annoys everyone. Including me. I said couple months ago that you are a trol who tries to make everyone hate BTS and their stans and I think it's actually true. I may argue with them from time to time, but all those things you do? It's complete madness. And now you are coming with some suicide storyline. What even is this?

also, while some members here wished for BB to remove airplay after Levitating fiasco.. lemme remind y'all that it's not even top2 in the Rolling Stone Chart technically, if Billboard Hot 100 removed airplay from its formula but kept everything else the same, "Levitating" would have been either #1 or #2 after a VERY tight race with "interlude". both would have ~ 205 points. "Kiss Me More" would be #3.

Kind of ironic how someone would want to remove airplay to benefit Dua. Sheโs usually the example people use for a radio-reliant artist, benefitting from Billboardโs formula.

That obviously isn't always the case, though. To be fair, Bruno is also an artist who has benefitted from astro-turfed radio-driven hits that lacked mass appeal (Please Me comes to mind here).

News flash: twink isnโt a homophobic slur. Being gay isnโt a death sentence. What happened to your friend is terribly tragic and itโs bullshit youโre somehow trying to use it to compare to anything on here. Do better.

Yeah, just don't count... Sales. Makes perfect sense. Yes! You get what I'm saying. Sales have been a pain in Billboard's neck for over a year now and we're better off restricting the way it can be counted (i.e. lowering the limit per card) or just getting rid of the format altogether. I know that sounds "crazy" here on this forum but what is the purpose of trying to tailor around a format that is constantly open to manipulation by fans or is otherwise prone to so many errors? LOL, Sales bring in money? I doubt any label or anyone is going to say lets cut out sales? Cut them out for chart positions and how will labels make money if nutty fans don't buy it? There's probably not many label execs that are going to give up money for a chart position. They are in with Billboard because it's an industry magazine not a fan one. (well it used to be) No one's going to die.... It's a number on a piece of paper from an industry magazine. I hope artists don't put their self worth into this...

Well for the record I wasn't setting out to offend anyone and I apologize if anyone was. It wasn't meant to be derogatory, they just look like twinks to me lol.
I don't know BTS personally, and I highly doubt they know who the hell I am, but if any of them were to feel personally offended by what I said I'd apologize just the same... but to be clear, "twink" is not a slur. It is absolutely not on the same level as transphobia; it's not even in the same stratosphere. Can people use it to bully someone? Yes. Does that mean it's always used that way? No. Does that invalidate anyone's opinion on the subject? Also no. But I do want to clarify my position and, to reiterate, apologize if what I said was misunderstood to be offensive.
