Did TOTC forget to include The Climb Back, which debuted last year but was on J. Cole's album? I can't see it being below the top 50.

it lowkey hurts seeing "Levitating" comfortably ahead of "Leave the Door Open", in the wrong week a true hit single regardless

A pretty insane run regardless of peak.

in b4 Billboard removes Spotify from the formula or something to ensure LTDO is still above Levitating

It looks like J. Cole will manage to debut four songs in the top 10 and get a new personal peak in the process. It should be the biggest album bomb we've had in a while.

Poor Levitating, gets denied the top spot this week and will get stuck behind a debuting number 1 and 2 next week.

And a slow-starter at that. The first 2 singles didn't fare well: Knocked Out (#41) and The Way that You Love Me (#88 - later re-released). It wasn't until the 3rd single, Straight Up, that the album took off. The label clearly had a lot of faith in Paula and that album to keep at it after the first two singles disappointed. Doesn't 'Forever Your Girl' (the album) still hold the record for the longest climb to number one? That album was a late-blooming blockbuster. Correct - 64 weeks. I wonder if it actually stayed on BB200 for every week after its release. It’s also noteworthy that 4 singles were remixed: FYG, CH, OA and TWTYLM (re-release ) Even crazier: some of the later singles were actually b-sides that got eventual standalone releases.

If last week taught you anything, stop using Talk of the Charts’ “points” as the gospel
Some of their new ones look just as silly as that sales figure that they had for Levitating last week

It was released in June 1988 and finally hit #1 the next October I believe. That would make it seem that it stayed on the entire time, unless it fell off for like 1 week. It then returned to #1 in February of 1990, which is even more impressive in a way. It stayed #1 until April of 1990, so it was #1 nearly a full 2 years after release.

The misassumption they made was the same one MRC Data made and reported to certain press outlets prior to the audit. Barring Barb shenanigans, which if anything will likely be stronger than estimated, nothing else in the midweek looks worrisome or prone to a similar issue.

MJ's 2003 release 'Number Ones' was the best selling album of the week for 6 weeks in 2009 on the now defunct comprehensive chart.
Anyway - 64 weeks of continual charting and rising to number 1 will likely never happen again. Today it is rare that a number one album 'climbed to #1' rather than debuted there.
In fact last instance of that was 2019

FYI Paula's album debuted at #184 in the July 23, 1988 issue of Billboard so it may not have charted right away anyway. It moved up to #168 in its 2nd week.

So for Olivia's album bomb, are y'all thinking over, under or exactly 4 top 10s that week? I'm thinking Good 4 U and Deja Vu are easily there. DL might need a bit of a push but I def think she'll be able to get at least one new debut

DL might need a bit of a push but I def think she'll be able to get at least one new debut Enough For You was planned to be Olivia's 3rd official single before Good 4 U blew up (the latter was originally meant to be a promo-only/non-radio single). I'm expecting that track to have a top 10 debut. I think that, Good 4 U, and Deja Vu will comprise the top 10 entries for Olivia. Drivers License will probably be #11/12, or right on the cusp of #10 if BTS weren't also debuting.

I’d guess My Life would be ahead of Good 4 U in streams, I think the AM numbers for it might’ve been absolutely insane earlier in the week. Was kind of hoping Morray could get a number 1, but looks like that’s not happening now.

Idk if anyone has already posted about it but Lil Nas X is dropping another song tonight. The teaser sounds interesting, the song has guitar in it.

Well I finished my four listens of The Off-Season. It is definitely a J. Cole album alright, probably the most I've enjoyed since 2014. And yet, I still feel like I'm not gonna return much outside of "m y . l i f e", mostly for Morray. i . s t i l l . t h i s . s t u p i d . f u c k i n g . s t y l i z a t i o n/t e n the same thoughts exactly for me!! Heard OffSeason before seeing the charts an Morray's part on "my life" completely jumped out for me instantly!

He’s brave to go against BTS 😂 Actually, the main reason I see for him to release the song tomorrow is because he will be the musical guest on SNL Saturday. So he's taking advantage of the opportunity to perform it. I'm pretty sure he's aware of what the competition is.

That makes total sense to me that he would take advantage of his SNL appearance
