Like with Taylor Swift, Beyonce has never really gone away from the popular music discourse and just like her, Beyonce's music and videography can be divided into two era: her flashy, in your face style fusion of 200s pop and R&B (Gen 1) and her more experimental, actively conscious phase (Gen 2). While technically her first video is Work It Out. Like with previous polls, I'm excluding all videos where she's just a guest artist which means 03 Bonnie & Clyde will not be here. I also know there videos for Green Light and Still in Love but I literally couldn't find a copy of the former, and the video uploaded of the latter was of poor quality so I took it out. Looking back through her Gen 1 discography, I feel like Beyonce's visuals have been the most emblematic of 2000s music culture, in the same way Katy-Taylor-Gaga's visuals shaped the 2010s. Watching Beyonce's videos with the hip dancing, the low cut tops exposing her stomach, the monochromatic-coloring for videos, the shimmering clothing, it's all distinctly 2000s. For the previous polls: Classic Janet Music VideosClassic Katy Music VideosClassic Gaga Music VideosClassic Gen 1 Taylor Swift Music Videos

Wow.... "hip dancing"? Beyonce is not a technically trained dancer, but her physique and agility has allowed her to give us some of the most distinct body isolation choreography and silhouettes we've seen. The one thing I will give to Beyonce is that she really gave us creative body movements, and/or really took street dancing to an elevated level and polished it up for the masses.

I didn't know how else to describe it lmao. I almost called it belly dancing. I guess it's similar to movement to dancehall but it feels less rhythmic, more like a cheer dance. Her choreography actually reminds me a lot of Mariah Carey, in terms of simple movements emphasizing sultriness and sensuality. Though her choreography and dancing definitely got better and more complex over time.

I voted, but #JusticeForGreenLight :'( since there are videos on this list that weren't actually singles.
I love the homage to the 80s and Robert Palmer videos.
EDIT: and Why Don't You Love Me, unless that will be in the next set.
