For sake of comparison, according to Billboard, the #2 song in the Japan Hot 100 "Kimi shika katanβ sold 503,745 CDs while Butter rose from #2 to #1 thanks to 29,935,364 weekly streams (from 14,021,650 last week) and 15,694,345 views on video (from 7,314,289 last week). Quite a different market they have there.

Rod Wave made a mistake by not making Tombstone a single. That would have been an easy Top 10. Not to mention, Tombstone is way better than AITO. He did make it a single; it's his current radio single for this album cycle. The problem is that Urban and Rhythmic are slow to get on board with it at the moment, and due to Rod Wave's team not getting the YouTube video correctly tagged, it failed to crack the top 10 the week of his album bomb despite now being his highest-peaking song on the Hot 100. |

Boring week. It's gonna be a while before the annoyance army stops buying that song. It's their 8 year anniversary or whatever next week and I have already seen whispers of a mass buying campaign again. Man itβs like you guys want album bombs after album bombs. And then when itβs someone specific like Drake or Post Malone that will drown the charts then yβall complain the same exact way. No. This week it was just as simple as switching #1 and #2 and it would have been far more interesting. As it was, save for Olivia vacating a few spots on the top 20, it was more or less a repeat of last week. Fine - but boring. |

Like, what type of songs do they play on Pop stations during Memorial Day Weekend that significantly takes away from more "current" songs? They'd emphasize "patriotic" songs and Golds typically from a timeframe of 5-15 years ago. I didn't tune in to Hits 1 that weekend, but I assume this is one example of the practice:  |

It would be more exciting if people would let Levitating go, and started streaming newer songs like KMM instead. Shut up, no one likes u I rather not go back to the time when the charts were dominated by whatever radio played. I disagree. 2004 was a year when the charts were dominated by whatever radio played, and that produced the best Year End chart ever. So you wanna go back to the days where streaming didn't exist, sales and downloads weren't accounted for, and YouTube wasn't there? No wonder u want the charts to stay inaccurate |

Radio has been around for a very long time, and in my opinion, is a very reliable metric. However, it is not perfect, and I'll admit when it makes mistakes, like with PYRO.

Bad news: It is already below The Good Ones and Famous Friends in this week's Hot 100 (judging from Hot Country Songs rankings). Maybe the audience by Nielsen dropped more than predicted.
