tim and castleoblivion26 have both joined us this evening since I said we didn't receive any new lists since the last update!!! We're still not up to 20, but we are still missing a couple regulars like LBTrocks and .indulgecountry, as well as some who expressed interest like samo🦕! So I am hopeful that we will still get there :)

I know things are really busy this weekend in the rankdown world with people needing to submit for the large Rolling Stone's Top 100 Greatest Songs of All Time rankdown hosted by Darkest Hour, so I am willing to leave this one open a few more days for those who are hoping for more time. This already has WAY more participants than album tracks rds usually get though, so I'm feeling good about proceeding this week, probably by Wednesday or so!!!

This is the one day warning for this rankdown, although like I said you will have at least a couple extra days to sneak in :) I'll post one more last call soon!

For those who haven't participated in album tracks rankdowns before, I'm not joking or exaggerating when I say that these things are ALWAYS an intense roller coaster ride. The ride unfortunately begins with a top 4 loss right out of the gate for dgarcia3377 :( As well as top 20 losses for Troublemaker, schnetzka, ccarter1023, and jamatthews83. So while this song makes complete sense to leave first, it is still a bit painful for some of us!

I think "Great Is Thy Faithfulness" is such an epic collaboration, and CeCe Winans is a fantastic addition to the song! However, it is not the type of song that I can listen to on repeat by any means. Especially when compared to all of her biggest missed hit opportunities, which this rankdown showcases. That was undoubtedly a similar thought process for most people, as it was our last place contender for nearly the entire submission process, and ended up finishing 40 entire points lower than the #34 song.

The My Savior album features back-to-back losses to kick things off! I personally think it's a bit unfortunate that "Blood" did this poorly. When she announced a gospel album I expected an album filled with big, slow, overwrought ballads that sound beautiful but also blend together, like what we got with the Christmas album. Which, for the most part is what we got, lmao. However, "Nothing But The Blood Of Jesus" completely blew me away upon first listen to the album because it just has such a lighthearted energy to it. It is a great sound for Carrie, and a style that fits her very well!! I'm very glad it did well enough to be included here!

This song was our primary #33 contender, that unfortunately fell behind the song that was between it and "Faithfulness" with the last couple lists...

I just think it’s hard to rank the gospel and Christmas songs within the context of the other studio album tracks. These are both great songs.
