So, I like “Quitter” and all, but come on….

SWISLY is actually kind of devastating. That first verse is so well-written.

At #7 we lose "Chaser", thereby saying goodbye to Storyteller right on the heels of Some Hearts!

This song was our least polarizing song, and literally placed in the top 8 for the entire submission process! Unfortunately it was a near constant top 5 contender, that gradually fell lower until establishing some stability around #7.

This song is bombastic and extra af, but that's where it gets all of its charm!!! The lyrics and the dark production enhance each other perfectly, as do Carrie's vocals. This would have made an excellent single imo. Would have been neat to see it in the top 5, but at least it was such a consistently high contender, that still managed to have a very respectable finish!

"Spinning Bottles" deserved better here. Really disappointed to see it out before "Quitter" and "Chaser" as I think it is a lot stronger than those two ("Someday When I Stop Loving You" also deserved to be lower but I figured that one would have its fans

Hopefully "Quitter" is out next!

“Ghosts” really sneaks up on you I love how tough she sounds on it. It’s a cool texture of her voice.

“Quitter” is not a Top 5 Carrie Underwood album track.

The final song to miss the top 5 is the polarizing "Ghosts On The Stereo". This song will be a painful loss to some of you on the one hand, but on the other hand it low-key did better than I think any of us would have ever expected considering how many people seem to randomly vehemently dislike it!!

Me, I love love LOVE it!!! This is by far one of my favorite songs on Cry Pretty, and I agree with the crowd who thinks it would have made for a great single. I love the more country flavorings of this one on an album that doesn't go in that direction nearly enough, and the imagery in the lyrics, and the way that the instrumental arrangement builds into an epic crescendo that was frankly perfect as a musical transition piece during her latest tour. tim and samo🦕 are the two who lose their #1 here.


"Low" is now the final song remaining on Cry Pretty!

Glad "Ghosts" came this far! I really didn't expect it would make top 10 given that some people are very vocal about (rather randomly) disliking it. It's easily one of the highest highs on Cry Pretty.

Solid top 5. I like all of these, even my #24. I obviously wouldn't have put that one this high, but it's still a great song and it's more just a testament to the strength of the album cuts that made this RD.

"Get Out Of This Town" is a sound that is unfortunately really underrepresented in Carrie's catalog. This is an energetic, powerful uptempo with an absolutely KILLER melody! I mean, I could honestly take or leave the verses, but if you don't like this chorus you have no business in civilized society. I'm the only one who took my own advice and ranked this at #1, but the top 20 ranks from everybody except for 6 lonely people who need our thoughts and prayers pretty much speak for themselves!! This song wasn't a super strong contender to win or anything, but it did settle into the #5 position more consistently than any other song, and was always going to be an easy top 10.

Carnival Ride is now eliminated.

I'm definitely not shocked to see "Wine After Whiskey" in the top 4, as it has long been one of the most obviously well-loved album tracks of Carrie's career. What really shocked me though was how much it struggled overall! I personally have always found this one to plod a bit, so while I do enjoy it I was a only able to put it at #32 in a list this strong... But it is hardly just me, as it got enough low ranks to mostly just bounce around in the teens until it FINALLY got its second wind in the last few lists.

BIG NEWS ALERT!!!!!! #3 is going to be OUR PRIMARY #1 CONTENDER!!!!!!!! This song was #1 for more than half the submission process, only losing its footing with the last couple lists and stumbling completely out of the top 2!!! #SHOOKETH!!!!!
