Songs like this are exactly why people hate country music. Honestly, we could point to 5+ different country songs charting right now and say that they all show exactly why people hate that genre.

I don’t see anything big that’s going recurrent next week but the week after I see No More Parties, Quicksand and Up going recurrent.

Up going recurrent before One Too Many would be so wrong, and would exploit how arbitrary the recurrent rules are. Keep in mind, OTM is more than 4 months older than Up, and is charting significantly below it.

One Too Many actually gained this week whereas Up fell this week and fell pretty big.

Still not following the One Too Many gripe It's not a gripe on One Too Many, but rather a gripe on songs getting undeserved charting weeks and how arbitrary the 50/20 recurrent rule is. I called out Billboard when Sucker and I Don't Care got undeserved weeks following the removal of UGC stats from the Hot 100.

Curious POV still hasnt showed up on spotify. Maybe tomorrow it will? I suspect that its streaming rise was thanks to the video, but it would be nice to see it chart on Spotify.

Does anyone else think this Cardi B rollout has been weird?? The new album has 2 number one hits already and you’d think with a monster cultural event like WAP her label would be actively pushing the album out, or we’d at least know a bit more than we do now. Instead it’s been 11 months since WAP and it’s been off the charts for months, and Up is about to exit too. Just feels weird that we don’t know more

So the fans don't really have any say in this when the boys clearly wants it. But yeah it's not really an artists that will make them more known in the US.

Just feels weird that we don’t know more She might be trying to score as many hits as she can before releasing the album, which is a smart decision. I imagine that an active rollout leading up to her album's release will begin following the release of her next single (which will likely have a summer vibe). So, far, she's done good with the first two singles off her forthcoming album: WAP: peaked at #1, spent 13 weeks in the top 10. Up: peaked at #1, spent 12 weeks in the top 10.

Songs like this are exactly why people hate country music. It's also exactly why people love country music. Those guys know their audience.

But my thing is the gap between the singles doesn’t make it feel like one cohesive era. WAP was in August, and Up was in February. And now it’s about to be another 5-6 months later. The best time to drop her album would’ve certainly been last fall following the WAP hype but that ship sailed. I’m not sure what’s the point of even including the songs on the album at this point other than to brag that it technically has 2 #1s. I’m not sure what the strategy is at this point.

I find it ironic but full circle that Ed Sheeran is being compared to The Weeknd in 2021. Both artists have had very similar career trajectories since the early 2010s. Both started off in their sub genres and with every album release they grew into bigger pop stars, sometimes forcefully and calculated, but at other times brilliant and ahead of the trends. Both are very unconventional and weird, but are self aware of their mainstream status.

Regarding the POV Official Live Performance Video, HITS mentions that it will be the first of many released in partnership with Vevo.

I suspect that its streaming rise was thanks to the video, but it would be nice to see it chart on Spotify. it also rose more than 250 ranks on Apple Music US, sitting at #194 now. so I hope a Spotify boost happens in the near future. it would be quite easy if they replaced "34+35" with "pov" on Today's Top Hits, as I remember seeing somewhere that "pov" already gets ~400-500k streams daily right now with virtually no playlist presence.
