In my mind Jealousy, Jealousy is already a 8 week #1 smash, top 10 year-end song in several countries. Jokes aside, Traitor is the next obvious choice for the fall, and Iβm sure thereβll be a 5th single, ready for her big Grammy night next year.

Traitor is definitely the fan favorite though happier, brutal, favorite crime, and jealousy jealousy arent doing too bad either.
Personally I'd like if brutal, favorite crime, and enough for you were singles but I understand not everyone is for a long album cycle so I'm fine with them ending with traitor

Traitor is a huge smash waiting to happen. Considering the fact that it's still top 10 on US Spotify and has been charting on pop radio for a few weeks now, it seems like the GP agrees.

I hope we get a video for traitor though.

lol @ Born In The USA being the most-streamed song on US Spotify on the 4th of July this year. I love that song, but a song thatβs mistakenly said to be βcelebrating Americaβ when itβs actually openly opposing the Vietnam War that America foolishly got involved in is the anthem for this holiday that the country deserves. I laugh when people play that song and donβt know what itβs about along with Fortunate Son and Independence Day. Even American Pie gets its streams and it has nothing to do with America.

^Also, Born in the USA at #21, Party in the USA up to #23 and Firework at #75. There are other July 4th boosted songs, some thematically, others probably got performed yesterday somewhere.

To add on to this, it's kinda like how people play Let It Snow during Christmas time despite the fact it makes no mention of the holiday and it wasn't even created for that purpose, it's just people who associate certain words with holidays and just run with it.

^Other songs I suspect got boosts because of July 4th's association with Summer. Among them, the most obvious ones are Summer of '69 and All Summer Long.

If there was one person that deserved a break it was definitely Post. He went 3 eras back to back without leaving the charts once from Congratulations-Circles, with all of them overlapping and flowing into each other. Iβm glad he technically did a 1.5 year break even though some songs that he was featured on were released during the time. Yeah and it was a well earned break at that, As a matter of fact I think that with A-Listers such as Post Malone taking a break after multiple consecutive years of hits may actually benefit them in the long run at least in my opinion. It's the way of the 80s artists who had smashes for that long and then took 9 months to a year off and recreated a new demand. Cardi did that last year with WAP. More artists should take that route.

It's like when Republican Paul Ryan said Rage Against The Machine was his favorite band lolol that one tweet about this that's like, "who the f**k did you think they were raging against?" I'd like to think at least some of the streams for "Born in the USA" and "Fortunate Son" were from playlists called "Protest" or "Anti-July 4th," but I somehow doubt it.

Early prediction about a song that's not really hyped on twitter. Kid laroi and Justin Bieber stay. out this Friday will eventually go #2 or #1 on the hot 100.

Doesn't matter how much Butter collapses like the Soviet Union on streaming, those 200 BTS fans buying 90k copies of the song will keep it on top over real hits like good 4 u or the new Post Malone single.

They could release a song like jealousy, jealousy, but if it hasn't been streamed or liked as much and the public isn't jumping to it right away, statistically it might have not as much of a chance of being a big hit.

I have a hunch theyβll want to occupy the top 2 for at least 7/24, given they did so last October with the Savage Love remix and Dynamite, as well as to prevent a Top 2 debut for Post. After that, I think Army (and by extension Columbia) will collectively let it go as PTD squats at the top for another month or so.

Billboard created the 52 week rule because songs were surpassing 52 weeks and clogging up the charts more often as the years went on, I wonder if they'll make a new rule and push the placement under #25 after Blinding Lights is gone.

I could see it being a hard "52 weeks and you're done no matter where you're placing" rule. It would certainly make things easier since there's virtually no situation where a currently-charting song could reach a new peak after it's been charting for over a year (Blinding Lights notwithstanding). The only question is how it would affect the Christmas songs when those eventually hit 52 weeks - maybe Billboard could keep the current #25 threshold just for that (although I'd still prefer a separate holiday chart like there used to be).

I doubt that Billboard will ever implement a hard 52-and-done rule. What I can see happening is a tweak in the 25/52 rule. They could lower the number of weeks for Top 25 recurrency to 39 (3/4 of a year) or 40 (nice round number). They could also add a year recurrency rule, say 15/52, but even then, you may get a song that falls out of the Top 10 - and that would put a huge asterisk on the largest falls list. (But in any case, don't expect any change until at least 2023. Radioactive and Sail ended their chart runs in mid-2014, and Billboard didn't implement the 25/52 rule until the beginning of 2016.)
