EXTRAS:Treat Her Like a Lady - The TemptationsThis was pretty awesome. The melody is a continuous firey disco beat ready to pack any dance floor. You would have to be in a wheelchair to not dance to this. Some of this Motown sound pioneers really transitioned nicely into the 80's. Spanish Eddie - Laura BraniganI don't know about the rest of you but I could easily put this in my top 20 without even breaking a sweat. See 80's isn't as easy as today's popular chart acts make it seem. It isn't just one melody with programmed beats. You gotta add all the chimes and extras. Weird Science - Oingo Boingo For me this is right up there with "Little Girls' , "Only A Lad", and "The Outside" and another one we haven't ran into yet. Danny brings down the level of quirky just a tad, but adds some incredible brass to go along with the usual NRG. An easy top 10 for me. I Was Born to Love You - Freddie MercuryThis was kinda campy, but I did like the music. I understand Freddy wanted to expands the band's musical horizons, but I can also see this as not being the easiest transitions for your "Killer Queen" fans. IMOP "Body language disco vibes were cool for the band, but Hi-NRG was not their sound. Square Rooms - Al CorleyThis is pretty awesome. has a strong Italo Disco atmosphere. The extended vers. is more engaging for me, because there is more of everything. 8 full minutes of pure NRG. Also this sounds like the kind of pop Luis Miguel churned out at the start of his career. Easy Top 20 for me. 30. Imagination - Belouis SomeThis is a song I like even more each time it shows up on Rds. This one is sexually fueled too. Like Duran Duran meets Spandau Ballet. Ironically the MV doesn't leave much to the imagination. Not complaining tho. 29. Call Me - Go WestAnything this duo put out was gold for me. Even into the 90's with "Faithfull" and "The King...." They like the British Hall & Oates. You guys killing off some real melodic wonders. 28. Lover Come Back (To Me) - Dead or AliveHi-NRG/Eurobeat/Italo Disco also saved me from the 90's. This song was one I rediscovered in extended vers. during that time. The radio edit was good, but Hi-NRG was meant to be heard in extended. Pete Burns in particular had some of the most unique vocals ever. I have all their hits on extended vinyl. 27. Meeting in the Ladies Room - KlymaxxComon now. What gives? Love this song. Sounds like the female vers. of The Time. Amazing I'm the only top 10 rank for this jam. I figured you all like Rick James and Prince. It's all about the SEX funk. 26. Jam on It - NewcleusLet me make one thing clear about this song. What ruined it beyond repair for me were those stooooopid vocals. That's what tanked it for me. The lyrics were pretty dumb too, but I did dig the melody. It reminded me a bit of one of my favorite 80's rap jams from EBN OZN "AEIOU Sometimes Y" Those beats kinda resemble each other. Also Freestyle made better use of this kind of percussion beats. There is at least one more song with worse vocals than this. 25. Love Resurrection - Alison MoyetThis was passable. Kinda boring actually, and made e feel old. Where is that NRG 80's Yazoo had? 24. Bang the Drum All Day - Todd RundgrenWhat the hell is this doing so high here? Sounds like a Peter Wolf solo song. So this is what you all consider a funbomb? A concider this a sillybomb with a side of cheese. The biggest culprit for me would have to be that it stays in the same melody the entire song. Never been a fan of that gimmick 23. Do You Wanna Hold Me? - Bow Wow WowSurprisingly high considered what happened to their hit "I Want Candy". I like just about anything that stemmed for Adam and The Ants. This one is NRGetic and fun. 22. Metal Health (Bang Your Head) - Quiet RiotSurprised this made it this high. Easily my favorite Metal jam here. The shout along effect is undeniable. Love that bass solo. 21. I Want to Break Free - QueenOnce again I prefer Album Rock Queen. This is alright. Sounds watered down ,and not a favorite of mine.

Ok I held off before to be nice. But since they've made it past "Friends" for some reason, I'll just come out with it "I Engineer" and "Love on Your Side" need to fu ck all the way off Love on Your Side has got twisted beats ...I like when member Joe Leeway says "Rap Boy Rap" in the track as a metaphor....it seemed unusual but interesting line when rap music was still barely new on the charts. Glad the track didn't go out as yet. One of my fave's on this rankdown.
