I love HoJo & i'm fond of Shannon too, but i don't think their songs here are deserving of the Top 10...not when FGTH is out already.
I think "Pretty In Pink" wins this but i'd love to see "Rockit" pull a surprise victory.

20. The Love Parade - The Dream Academy Great song. I do like the Sophistipop vibe it goes for. This band in general never blew me away. I would give this a higher rank in a weaker list of songs.
19. The Celtic Soul Brothers - Dexys Midnight Runners Another very nice song. If this is the closest they came to "Come On Eilleen" part two I'll take it.
18. High Energy - Evelyn Thomas I'm actually kinda happy you all gave a TRUE Hi-_NRG song this high a rank. Still one lower than mine, but at least you all comin' around to the sound. BTW this and Bobby 'O's "Whisper To A Scream" share the same synth progression, but the original will always be "Unexpected Lovers" from Lime.
17. Friends - Whodini look at that split. Not surprising at all. I was always gonna tank this as soon as the vocals commenced. The 80's percussion beats don't fool me one beat. Not even George Michael could have saved this one. Sorry
16. I'll Be Good - René & Angela Wasn't feeling this one. Mainly because I wasn't familiar with it at all. The vocals and music were fine, I preferred The S.O.S Band. "Just Be Good To Me" so much more. I'm glad we all did as well.
15. I Engineer - Animotion easily one of my favorites on this list. Anything that sounds like this pretty much gets a free pass on my lists, and it would have made my top 10 if it were not for all the Metal jams featured here. This is the real Animotion too. Not the corporate version.
14. Welcome to the Pleasuredome - Frankie Goes to Hollywood Never hit me as hard as "Two tribes" nor The classic "Relax". I think it spends to much time trying to reconstruct "Relax" instead of taking opportunity to come up with a different song. They lost their chance for another American hit here.
13. Holiday Road - Lindsey Buckingham It does make my top 10, but because of my multiple times watching 'Vacation'(thanx to Chevy Chase). The high point for me are the melodic sing a long ooohhhs.
12. Love on Your Side - Thompson Twins Just outside my top 10. Blame it on Metal, but I do love that bass groove. This is one of my favorite from the band. Did you catch the little "In The Name of Love" synth nod?
11. I Didn't Mean to Turn You On - Cherrelle This song blew. She has another song I kinda dig, but I didn't need this Robert Palmer cover. Ever.
EXTRAS: One of these would have made my top 10 on this list.
I Don't Wanna Dance - Eddy Grant Not a terrible song, but Eddie's vocals were not my style. I dug "Electric Avenue" mainly because of the rev ups. Actually Now that I listen to it again this is pretty silly all the way thru. LOL!
Hang on Now - Kajagoogoo This was exactly what I wanted my 80's Synthpop vocals to sound like. Gorgeous song. That whole album is packed with aesthetic beauties like this. The band can thank Nick Rhodes for bringing them into the spotlight. There is also an extended version of this song to keep you in that heavenly realm. Also the remastered versions of the album tacks have been uploaded. This would have been in my top 5.
Shy Boy - Bananarama I totally prefrred SAW's Hi-NRG Banana Ramma, but this isn't too too terrible. It's melodic and I do love girly vocals in sync. Pop should bring this style back.

Wouldn't It Be Good Nik Kershaw
The video alone warrants a #1 placement. Love this song. Nik has some great stuff, if you've never checked out "The Riddle" - that is also a great one.
