Never thought i would buy a jason aldean album ever again(its been like 10 years) but i definitely want IIDLY on cd as who knows if Carrie’s next album will have it as a bonus…and i thought i saw somewhere that “Heaven” is a cover of the Bryan Adams hit from the 80s? If thats the case it will definitely be worth my while as long as he doesn’t butcher it.
Kinda LOLing at Walmart having an exclusive…and that all it is is a different cover. And….that there are stores selling it ahead of its release date🤷♂️🤦♂️🤣

A lot of his fans have been waiting on a studio version of the cover ever since he performed it on the CMT Crossroads with Bryan Adams years ago.

That performance of "Heaven" might be my favorite thing he's done.
Anyway "IIDLY" has a shot at moving back to #1 on Mediabase and/or Billboard Airplay; it's currently #1 with a big lead on impressions. I think Ryan/Maren will get Mediabase as that's the label's aim, but it's wild how well "IIDLY" is doing. It could end up with three weeks at #2 in addition to the two weeks at #1.

Really like this album. “The Sad Songs” and “Small Town Small” are early favorites.

Jason and Carrie’s stay at the top of Billboard I think will end at the hands of either Zac Brown Band or Luke Combs. I think this will get 3 weeks at #1 just one week shy from tying his biggest hit so far “Big Green Tractor” which spent 4 weeks at #1 in 2009. I really want Zac Brown to get that 14th #1. If Luke hits #1 it’ll be his 4th chart topper for the year. It’s been several years since someone had 4 #1’s in one year.

In my opinion I didn’t really care for “Macon” Aldeans new album. The only that was decent was “If I Didn’t Love You” . The last album that liked a lot and recommended of his was “My Kind Of Party”.

It’s really looking like this could take #1 on BB next week.

Like I said yesterday I am kind of bitter this got a third week at #1 while "Chasing After You" is going to have to settle for a MB only #1. Such bad timing and given how unlikable Jason Aldean is compared to Ryan/Maren it makes it all the more bitter pill to swallow.

Happy this got a third week. It’s refreshing to radio cling this hard to a song that isn’t sung by Luke Combs; and seeing Carrie attached to it makes it even more special. I’m really wondering if it could get a fourth week since it looks like Luke is pushing this week and not ZBB, and he is very far behind.

Oh yeah, this is Carrie’s biggest hit in YEARS. So glad to see radio hold onto something not sung by the same two initials of LC.

I really don't get the excitement for this getting a 3rd week at #1. This is the result of chart manipulation at its worst, and this kind of behavior from the industry is what is making country radio stagnant and hard to listen to.

This song was one of the biggest hits of the year selling/streaming wise and radio is being slow to drop it because of it. This song was very deserving of 3 weeks at number one. What’s making radio stagnant is labels pushing non event songs that are not selling/nor streaming past their expiration date to get a more desirable peak whether that be a artificial #1, a top 10, or a top 20.

If anything its early weeks at #1 were a result of what you mention. Its sticking around the top now are because of people liking it and not letting it go. That's why I am more excited about these weeks.

Yeah, lol, this is definitely an organic hit that I believe was only hindered by chart manipulation (the first week, it could have been #1, but was held back for another song).
Wonder if they'll try this at Hot AC?

Wonder if they'll try this at Hot AC? Yeah it lost an early week at #1 because of label stuff, and it would have been #1 on Mediabase this past week except for a different song having a label push. This week it could nab another week at #1, more likely on Billboard, despite a label push for Luke Combs.

Wonder if they'll try this at Hot AC? Exactly. It could’ve gotten five weeks organically but it was the chart manipulation (massive push for My Boy and Fancy Like) that hurt this song, not helped it.

Sorry if I was not clear enough, but I meant that it should not be at its third week at #1, since "Fancy Like" has been slowed down to allow "IIDLY" to hit the top spot.
As for the song being one of the biggest hits of the year and therefore deserving to be a multi-week number one, I disagree.
It was obviously one of the biggest hits of the year, but it went top 3 at the same time of another massive song. Like it or not, Fancy Like was bigger than this, and it probably deserved to be #1 over "IIDLY" on its first week at least.
Moreover, we have seen many big hits that missed #1 on Billboard due to bad timing. "Great Day to Be Alive" by Travis Tritt was a monster hit, yet it has missed #1 as it got blocked by Jessica Andrews and Brooks and Dunn.
I'm not saying "IIDLY" did not deserve to hit #1, my point is that "Fancy Like" should not have been slowed down.

Didn't "Fancy Like" come out before "IIDLY," yet "IIDLY" went top 10 and top 5 and top 3 before "FL?" And as has been stated, "IIDLY" would have been #1 a week sooner except it was slowed down to make way for whatever song that was at the time. In other words, it's all a big game so to single this one out seems odd.

I'm not saying "IIDLY" did not deserve to hit #1, my point is that "Fancy Like" should not have been slowed down. True, but with the same argument IIDLY shouldn’t have been slowed down either to allow My Boy to get its token #1. IIDLY only got #1 this week out of pure luck since Sony tanked FL so CYA could squeeze to #1 on Mediabase. That’s where the manipulation was, since IIDLY wasn’t on the same label as CYA, broken bow had no initiative to tank their own song and just let radio keep playing it. This was similar to what Warner did with “I Hope” last year where it deserved more weeks at #1 (like Fancy Like) but the label had another song (More Hearts Than Mine) that they wanted to get to #1, so they tanked the big hit to allow the lesser hit to get to #1.

This song probably would've been like a 6-week #1 if it were released 15 years ago, so I don't really understand the gripe of it returning to #1 for a third week. It's been a massive hit and if it weren't for chart manipulation for competing songs, this would've spent more weeks at the top, not less, lol.

I'm just sad this blocked "Chasing After You" as it hasn't been that much less of a hit than this (also not helping is how much I despise everything about Jason Aldean).

There’s still a small chance that Jason and Carrie stay at #1 on billboard this week, but I’m starting to think Luke Combs will grab #1. If this stays at #1 on billboard, I wonder if it would be the first time a song was #1 on billboard while being moved to recurrent on R&R/Mediabase?

Mediabase rules for recurrency are spending 3 weeks in a row without a bullet (unless you are at #1) once you hit the third week the song is removed which despite the slow fall "If I Didn't Love You" has spent the past 3 weeks without a bullet on Mediabase.

Wow. I mean, I get it in a general sense, but it seems to me songs should have to be below the top 5 or top 10 as opposed to only if they're #1.

Eh, I don't mind it as it kind of makes the Mediabase chart move a bit faster at times in comparison to Billboard. That and if a song is losing spins 3 weeks in a row it is pretty much done so I like Mediabase hardly makes exceptions. But I am probably weird for liking that recurrent rule.
