Damn, wish MΓ₯neskinβs βI Wanna Be Your Slaveβ couldβve debuted, especially considering the boosted radio on Alt this week

Lil Nas X is quiet because criticizing the label before his album drops would backfire. Columbia is all-in on BTS - even at the expense of their other acts. If they weren't, the multiple versions would've been deleted by now.

Wow, great point. See, I had begun to think that the charts were inaccurate because a small section of the public was putting an ungodly amount of work in to propping up this band and keeping these songs that are barely being consumed near or at the top of the chart, but as it turns out I just didnβt want to admit how popular they were. it appears Drake, Kanye, Nas (album wise) and Travis scott and Lizzo are releasing this month so it's possible this could be the month where Billboard accepts it as enough.

We talk a lot about Blinding Lights and One Too Many but I find the fact that Mood has managed to dodge being sent into the shadow realm for months now crazy, that song has had hella great longevity but it feels nobody has really cared about it since January.

I figured you would share that; now about the other songs dodging recurrency. My guess is that Mood and MEBF survived, but my gut tells me either Wants & Needs or drivers license went recurrent and the other survived.

Read ahead - to his follow up tweet. Christmas is not a reason to have Mariah at #1 LOL It's also kinda funny to complain about "contemporary" hits being blocked by older songs when you're talking about a song that's been in the top 20 for nearly 2 years.

If Butter was only a good song, I will not even complain. But that song is really terrible. π (LGO and BWL are really great imo)

The English cuts are often more generic and come off as cynical. I do like "Blue & Grey" for example. Excellent track.

Can we get good k-pop to chart? Please? LOONA's Star is right there, probably the best english K-Pop song and already had an ok run at pop radio. But it still deserves some real shine, it should be a smash hit. Get on it ARMY.

Speaking of Asian star that deserves a hit, YOASOBI just released another English version of their hit.

Notable dropouts: - "pov" by Ariana Grande (#27 peak, 20 weeks) - "transparentsoul" by Willow featuring Travis Barker (#76 peak, 6 weeks)
I'm guessing "Build a Bitch" and "Twerkulator" may have also dropped out, but Bella Poarch and City Girls don't have chart history pages. Neither does Olivia Rodrigo, weirdly.
"Blinding Lights", "My Ex's Best Friend", "Wants And Needs", "Mood", and "One Too Many" all avoid recurrency.

is drivers license still in or do we not know this yet? As I mentioned in my post on dropouts, Olivia Rodrigo doesn't have an artist page on Billboard, so it makes it hard to tell. If "Wants And Needs" stayed though, it probably did as well.

Bo Burnham's "Bezos I" debuts at #21 on the Bubbling Under Hot 100. Each of his three songs have different strength and weakness that prevent them from charting in the main Hot 100. Welcome to the Internet: Strength: Youtube Weakness: Sales, Spotify + AM All Eyes On Me: Strength: Spotify + AM, sales (before Bezos I blew up) Weakness: Not really, but mid Youtube when compared to Welcome to the Internet Bezos I: Strength: Spotify + AM, sales Weakness: No official video on Youtube

Very Katy Perry-ish, shouldβve received a US pop push.

Billboard really needs to get their shit together and update the rules about webstore sales, so same rule that apply to iTunes applies everywhere, ie you can only buy the same song once, not 413596241357968 times like the millionaires of the Army/BTS label do
