And this leaves the final top 2.
As She's Walking Away (ft. Alan Jackson)
VS
Colder Weather
Both from You Get What You Give album. One could interpret from trajectory graph from Highway 20 Ride that these two are basically frontrunners of top 2, while itself stuck at #3. But which will win?

LMAO at that wall of #1s for "Colder Weather", and it still only managing to win this thing in a tie-breaker. This should have been an absolute runaway, apparently!!! "Colder Weather" is by far their most incredible song to me. The whole vibe of the song is just so melancholy in all the right ways I love the harmonies of the band, the way the song builds, and the way the the instrumentals complement the melodies... This is the pinnacle of ZBB's artistic balladry to me. "As She's Walking Away" is an amazing top 2 finisher as well, so I am happy to see it do that well! The melody is so catchy, and I love the conversational singing between Zac and Alan! The only reason this missed my own top 5 is because the level of overplay has made it one that I don't seek out very often anymore, but from a quality standpoint it is still very much one of their best songs. Very happy with the way this rankdown went overall! Thanks for hosting recordyear!

Achievement unlocked for me to host a rankdown with top 2 technically tied! But there's no way I wouldn't give the win to Colder Weather, which has half of participants rank at #1! Congrats to fearlessarrow , Kanenrá:ke , tim , zack97 , ClevelandRox , .indulgecountry , kw9461 and bboat11 for picking the winner, extra congrats to Kanenrá:ke for picking the correct top 2, and fearlessarrow for perfect top 4! someguy got a perfect ranking for #2. And for the record, As She's Walking Away easiy got the lowest SD as all of the participants put this in top 10 and all but one is top 9 (top 25%), which is similar to Jolene in the RS GOAT country songs rankdown. I really enjoy the "wise man giving younger man life/love advices" trope in As She's Walking Away, because Alan Jackson is just so convincing in that role. Plus they have better harmonies with their male features, and this is one of their strongest harmony with the guest vocal. But it's really hard to beat Colder Weather, which is often hailed one of mdern classic for a good reason. This features one of their best buildups to the climax, but the cherry on top is that outro. Love "I can smell your perfume through these whisperin' pines" as a synesthesia moment, and "I’m with your ghost again" is sentimental but not saccharine.

Once again, thanks for joining the Zac Brown Band singles and selected album tracks rankdown. 16 participants is a good turnout for this considering their general decline on popularity comparing to when the concept of rankdowns began (2016). I could host one more rankdown if that (non-country) album got AOTY nomination in the Grammys, but this is the last country rankdown I am going to host this year. See you in next year when more exciting country rankdowns are coming!

Woo a perfect top 4! ZBB had this way of making such pleasant melodies/instrumentation, and the top 4 here are all perfect examples of those. Thanks for hosting recordyear!

Dang, I missed a lot of this, but I just want to say that that is a perfect top 5, and that the right song finished on top. :) Thanks for hosting this, recordyear.

Pretty much expected that both “Goodbye in Her Eyes” and “Whatever It Is” would be the first two songs out in the top 5, especially given the strength of the three songs ahead of it. I do still enjoy hearing “Whatever It Is” on the radio as it’s a pleasant listen, but overplay certainly played a factor in my ranking for it. As for the latter, everything really just comes together to make for a great song and one that I’ve always looked back on with a sense of reverence. While I had predicted that the top two would come down to “Highway 20 Ride” and “As She’s Walking Away”, I’m glad it happened to be “Colder Weather” instead (especially since it was my #1 lol). And I’m pleasantly surprised to see that it just happened to be a tie as well! I knew going into this that “As She’s Walking Away” was going to fare well if only because I remember it making it into the top 5 in the year-end rankdown, so again I wasn’t surprised to see it almost take the cake. I quite enjoyed revisiting their discography and admittedly still enjoy hearing their songs on the radio. And much to my own surprise, I ended up performing rather well here! Thanks again recordyear and I’m looking forward to seeing what you have in store for us next year!

Amazing finish! "Colder Weather" is such a deserving winner and it's songs like it that will always make me be interested in giving them a chance even if their material has become uneven as time goes on. Thanks for hosting recordyear
