Yeah, it makes me wonder if Billboard is fixed/rigged. LNX does everything to block Taylor from getting 2 #1’s, but turns around to do nothing to stop BTS from getting another week at #1. As much as I'm so amazed by the 19-week #1 reign of "Old Town Road" I'm still salty that "ME!" wasn't #1 I'm still thankful for that. Probably Taylor's worst single ever.

In what world is the guy who has been the most dominant figure in mainstream music in the U.S. over the last 12 years niche? The most consumed artist in the U.S. every year for the last 7 years is niche? Who has scored more hits than Drake in the last 12 years? Drake doesn't make enough appearances on Pop radio so him/his audience must be niche. Smh. It's like some of you don't exist in the actual world with some of the comments you post in here. While I do agree niche is not the best word here, I don't think numbers alone tell the whole story. Drake can be the most consumed artist in the US but there seems to be a limit to his audience. Take a look at some of his latest #1 singles: Nonstop, Nice for What, Laugh Now Cry Later, What's Next... I don't think anybody would argue that these song's are as well-known as Ed Sheeran's #1s. Or Bruno Mars. Or Maroon 5's. Surely Drake's fans will know all the songs mentioned, but someone who doesn't actively follow his music might not even know or recognize these songs. Now take Girls Like You or Moves Like Jagger, even somebody who hates Maroon 5 will know these songs.

He's known by enough people in the U.S. for him to outstream all the other acts you mentioned and that's all that matters.

But are you saying his #1 singles are as well-known as the #1 singles by the other acts I mentioned? Now the thing about being played on pop radio, I think there's more to it than just that. Songs like Hello, Uptown Funk or Despacito were inescapable even to those who don't listen to pop radio. You might be a hard rock fan who hates Justin Bieber, you'll still know Despacito.

Who cares about how well-known his singles are, though? Why are you listing some the biggest hits of all time to make a case for Drake's songs not being well-known, especially in the US? What's the correlation? He scores massive hits in the US and his music is more consumed than anyone else's in the US. To add to that, he has sold out multiple arena tours in the US. He's more than fine, I promise you. The people who need to know him, do and if that's enough to keep him outdoing everyone, I don't think he needs everyone to know him/his music.

I’m sorry I implied Drake catered to a niche audience. I’m also sorry I suggested country music catered to a niche audience too.

I did have a thought today and I apologize in advance.
The conversation about mixing streaming with sales to come up with a number. Billboard (or is it one of their sources) does this thing where when a song (or songs) are on multiple albums, they give the points of that song to the album that had the most physical sales for that week. We saw this most when The Weeknd released his Hits compilation while songs from After Hours were doing well enough to notice. Now, again, this applies to the album chart and to me is quite ridiculous that it’s an all or nothing thing. Even more ridiculous to me than the suggestion that physical album sales can’t result in some sort of similar system where points can be distributed amongst the tracks as they pertain to the Hot 100.
Just thought I’d put that out there because I knew I wasn’t pulling the initial idea out of my ass.

Yes, he outstreams them. If we look at the numbers, that is correct. So you do agree that Drake's songs are not as well-known as other male acts such as Bruno, Sheeran or Bieber, even though he is, like you said, more consumed than any of them?

Please tell me Drunk (And I Don't Wanna Go Home) will stay on the charts this week It should. It eeked out a weekly gain of +0.43 radio audience according to kworb's Mediabase data.

Yes, with those radio gains, we should expect the song to be able to beat recurrency, assuming of course that we have a good understanding of the application of that rule based on what we have seen for other songs in the same position.

You mentioned the biggest hits of each of those people's careers. Drake has hits that are just as big, so I don't know what you're trying to achieve by that. He is just as popular as each of those acts. This may blow your mind but not everyone listens to pop radio. Bruno hasn't scored a hit as huge as Uptown Funk since then. Ed Sheeran hasn't scored a hit as big as Shape of You since then and Justin Bieber hasn't scored a hit as big as Despacito since then. In fact, the only person who has scored recent massive hits is Drake. God's Plan, Nice for What and In My Feelings all happened in 2018 and we're the biggest/well-known hits of that year. You're just so stuck on this idea that only pop stars make hits people know and that's silly to me. Drake is a rapper so to you, he just magically happens to outstream everybody but he doesn't get airplay on pop radio so songs by other acts are more known than anything he drops. What a flawless logic but if you wanna remain on that hill, I'm not stopping you.

Real life is always so different from these online opinions lol. I'm sorry they banned you from making bait threads on KTT2 but I'm afraid this has nothing to do with the Billboard Hot 100. You must find a different thread to spill your love and passion for I'm Way 2 Sexy For This Syrup.

Weird that you just made up a lie out of thin air. 2. Discussing CLB and Donda absolutely does have to do with the current Hot 100 discussion, and people have been discussing whether they like them and/or their quality the past 2 weeks almost daily. Don't tell me what to do.

The point you're making is tenuous at best (why are football teams the ambassador for "actual real life people") and I'm bored of hearing Drake stans complaining about internet people not liking Drake while at the same time belittling them, if they don't matter so much then stop talking about them. We're all literally nerds on here so trying to make some sort of gotcha about how "if you were REAL you would love CLB" is a vapid and useless point to make. Nobody is trying to be the one true representation of what real people think, it's all just people saying how they feel lol.

I made a post with 1 simple sentence. You also managed to incorrectly access that 1 sentence. I'm not saying one has to be "real" to like an album (who cares?....). I'm saying in many places you'd see CLB passed off as universally disliked, but in other spheres you see people who universally do like it. I've noticed Drake has the most polarizing opinions in social media and in person. I think anyone under 30 who is familiar with him would notice this...

I mean fair enough if that's the point you wanted to make lol, I just got the vibe you posted that as a gotcha for people here who don't like the album (and let's face it there are more people who don't than people who do). I thought it was a bit shady and I wanted to be shady in exchange lmao. Also I love making unnecessarily long posts, it's both my best and worst trait on here. This in of itself is an unnecessary addition to this post but I'm typing it anyways because I simply have to.

violentdreams just to offer some additional context, iHype. posted that tweet as a general statement to how people tend to treat Drake and his music online. It's basically a punchline to call his music terrible and to call him a bad musician. If you've been a Drake fan for long enough, you'll know that for most, if not all of his career, there's been chatter online about how his music sucks or how he's not a good enough rapper, etc and despite all of that, his music has always outperformed that of all his peers/contemporaries. People have been swearing that all his singles/albums are terrible but those same people play those songs in private and in public when out with friends. Critics and even casual listeners all bashed Views, Scorpion and now CLB but the numbers always tell a different story, so that's why instances like athletes or random people walking down the street being asked and saying they like or listen to Drake more than any other artist he's compared to in any specific instance is funny to Drake fans because we've all known that to be the reality of the situation. Another thing that's been happening recently is how people who bash Drake's music online, specifically Twitter, eventually share their Spotify/Apple Music recaps for the year and they almost always have Drake as their most played artist. The truth is that if Drake's music was as bad as people claimed it was online, it wouldn't be nearly as consumed/successful as it is and this has been going on for 12 years now so Drake is clearly doing something right. That's basically what that post was about.

There were very few opinions expressed in those videos that would bring credit to the people holding them--I think one guy on the Broncos had a nuanced opinion and the others were trying to shout him down.

If they kick it out after letting One Too Many stay on for god knows how long, I’m gonna lose it
