1 2 5 6 8 why is "Blinding Lights" here y'all are sick well, 3/5 songs are at least 1,5 years old. "Save Your Tears" and "Levitating" are both 2021 hits though, and peaked in late spring/early summer. even though they both came out in early 2020, their predominant versions are less than a year old (I think "Levitating" Remix just turned 1 in the past week). "Blinding Lights" on the other hand... great song but by no means would I consider it a "Summer 2021" soundtrack. |

heat waves was a huge grower for me lmao, it went further than i was expecting though i'll certainly take the perfect ranking for ltdo but those bottom 5 ranks...i don't get it  1 2 3 5 9 all of these are at least great imo so i'm cool with whatever wins |

My thoughts:
10. Hate me all you want, this song is one of the best songs I've heard in 2021. Really makes me feel. (#3)
9. Anything I said about #10, multiply it by 10. (#1)
8. I mean, it's Bruno Mars. What else I can say about this song? It's really good! (#5)
7. A shame that this song is not in the Top 5, this is the best song Lil Nas X ever made. (#2)
6. It's still good, but didn't leave an important mark like the other two songs Olivia made. (#13)

10. "Heat Waves" [14]: I thought I ranked this a bit higher. Maybe I should have. I kind of do like the flow, but at the same time it gets a bit too repetitive. I didn't hear it that much, though. 9. "Heartbreak Anniversary" [16]: I definitely didn't hate it, but it didn't do much of anything for me either. That was the last song I didn't like. 8. "Leave the Door Open" [5]: This was that polarizing? And it really lost to "MONTERO"? That's very disappointing, even if the song did kind of burn fast. I thought it would be universally like. You're better than this, crazyb.  7. "MONTERO (Call Me By Your Name)" [10]: It's a catchy enough song, but you'll never convince me it deserved to be higher than "Leave the Door Open". 6. "deja vu" [11]: Pleasant surprise, here. I was starting to worry it could actually win. It's a nice song, a bit on the slower side (hence why I was surprised it almost got to the top 5), but definitely the inferior of her two hits here. Remaining: 1, 2, 3, 4, 9. Pretty much the best reasonably conceivable top 5 here for me. I won't complain if my #9 wins, but it's obviously not my preference to win.  |

The song that dominated 2020, both on the charts and in pulse rankdowns, misses the top 3. Surprised this didn't even touch the top 2. I have always been neutral about The Weeknd, but man Save Your Tears is amazing. It is by far his best material, and one of my fav non-country hit songs of the year.

Well, it only was a matter of time before my #1 went out. It was really cool to see this at #1 for a while, and honestly also really cool that this never left the top 3 at any point. Definitely one of the best hits of the year, it's low key, yet still has a fun bop to it.
