Sent. I can't remember the last time we had a list so consistently good as this one. Like anything in my top 10 could have been #1.

First extra for today was one of 9 Top 10s on the soul chart for this band from The City Of Brotherly Love, peaking at #7.
Feel That You're Feelin' - Maze feat. Frankie Beverly
Next, a song by the only artist to top the Hot 100 as a vocalist and as an instrumentalist. In addition to topping the Hot 100, this instrumental climbed to #4 on the soul chart and won a Grammy for Best Pop Instrumental Performance. It was notably sampled in The Notorious B.I.G.'s 1997 hit "Hypnotize".
Rise - Herb Alpert
Finally, one of the biggest hits by this Motown legend, peaking at #4 on both the soul and Hot 100 charts (his first solo Top 10 on the latter chart). It was notably covered by D'Angelo in 1995 and by Gwyneth Paltrow and Huey Lewis in 2000.
Cruisin' - Smokey Robinson

OK. I'm guessing this was not my finest guess. Really outside of two songs, the rest of the songs hitting #1 were pretty stellar IMO.

Guessing my 2 will have lowest SD, and my 12 will be highest. I'll be honest though I don't know how these go so I could be way off.

Reveals will begin shortly!
But first, a couple of extras. First, a song by this NYC-based that was the follow-up to their #1 smash "Le Freak". It topped the disco chart and peaked at #5 soul and #7 on the Hot 100. Jody Watley covered it in 2007.
Fun fact: this song was originally intended for Sister Sledge.
I Want Your Love - Chic
Next, one of 12 Top 10s on the soul chart for this band of brothers from New England, peaking at #5.
Never Had a Love Like This Before - Tavares

Damn, I thought I was being harsh to Still with my #17 ranking.
Brick House, Lady (You Bring Me Up) and Oh No are my go-to Commodore songs. If you've never seen "the Last American Virgin", the song Oh No has been seared in my brain with that clusterfuck of a movie ending.
