6. Bad Girls - Donna Summer

The title track to Donna's 1979 album is undeniably one of her biggest hits, topping the soul, disco, and pop charts. It also hit #1 in Canada and hit the Top 10 in 6 other countries. Co-written with Brooklyn Dreams, it was inspired by one of Donna's assistants who was mistaken for a prostitute by a cop. The "Toot Toot! Ah! Beep Beep!" refrain originated in The Joe Cuba Sextet song "Bang Bang". "Bad Girls" won the AMA for Favorite Pop/Rock Single and helped Donna win the AMA for Favorite Pop/Rock Female Artist. It was also nominated for a Grammy for Best Disco Recording.
