I'm not seeing another Trollz or Say So with Boyz - it has good sales, but Fancy Like has 2/3rds of them and it isn't a number one hit. And it actually has good radio and streams! You actually thought there was a chance Jesy Nelson was debuting #1 on the Hot 100 to begin with? We all have our bad takes, lol. Me more than most, tbh.

Hmm, that's what i want is 75 on apple. I suppose we can view lil nas more in terms of a pop artist than hip-hop, charts-wise.

I would have enjoyed Stay more if its weeks at #1 blocked some of Butter's weeks at #1, instead of W2S and IB. Losing those races to Butter, but blocking out W2S's 2nd week at #1 and IB altogether just left a very sour taste. It also doesn't help that radio overburnt it. Stay is not that bad of a song, but I feel that it's overstayed its welcome at the top by about 5 weeks now.

1 flop single is not a career killer for an artist with like 5 songs that spent a full year on the charts I remember when Lost In The Fire and Power is Power dropped and people thought The Weeknd was over after both songs flopped, and even when Heartless/BL initially came out and we know what happened the first few weeks of their chart run, but 2 years later look at where we are. Lil Nas underperformed with Holiday and people thought he was completely over and now look at where he is. Big name artists can have flop singles from time to time and still recover and even come back even bigger than their last hit era. Post will most likely be fine as his songs tend to last longer overtime on streaming and heβs been through this before.

Preview for today's Spotify update: Ghost finally re-enters at #98, a flop and anti-vaxxer/rapist defender debut at #117 with 280,904, and Don Toliver debuts with 11 songs in the Top 100. He debuted 15 in the Top 100 of AM, only 2 songs in the Top 10 though so we'll see if he gets a minor album bomb

lol, LNX needs to sign with a new record label if he wants to advance his career. He is quickly becoming a medium-sized fish in a large pond. It is pretty clear he is not the first, second, or third priority at Columbia, and they cost him a 3rd #1. Keep in mind, IN was not blocked by some outside threat, it was blocked by LNXβs own Columbia stablemates, with songs which have already been long-running #1βs.

He's been doing things like this already with "MONTERO.." What's the difference now? And, once again, he still in the Top 10 on the Hot 100, Billboard 200, and on radio...

Keep in mind, IN was not blocked by some outside threat, it was blocked by LNXβs own Columbia stablemates, with songs which have already been long-running #1βs. You have the absolute worst sense when it comes to business. In what world would it be sensible to drop all current promotion in marketing and radio runs, budgets for tours, music videos and future albums, and connections with other artists, not to mention all the money MONTERO is making just because he's not their biggest priority right now. I would understand if this a smaller or even b-tier artist who wasn't getting proper promotion like say Tinashe - an artist who actually was ignored by her RCA and who restricted her album releases, and who is much happier now that she's independent - or if he wasn't being compensated enough like Taylor Swift but that's not Nas' case (as far as we know). just the idea that chart movement and success is what should dictate Nas' career instead of his art: y'know THE VERY THING AND IMAGE HE SAID HE WANTED TO MOVE AWAY FROM ON MONTERO is stupid on a number of levels. And btw I'm not defending big labels in any way, I'm just saying switching labels and signing contracts just because you're not number one on an arbitrary charts list is pretty petty and something no artist with sustainable success has ever thought. When are you gonna accept chart positions are not the be-all, end-all of an artists' success, longevity, and legacy?

How far away was Industry Baby from Stay last week? Could that extended version do the trick to go #1? Per Ashres prediction, about 48 points. Itβs certainly possible, and I hope it can do it, but LNX should have put this out on album release week.

Apparently Adele said CLB is her favorite album of the year π
Can't wait to hear her collab with Drake. I'm all for Adele on trap beats π

Adele previewed about 50 seconds of her song today on Instagram live and Iβm gonna need a bigger Kleenex box !!! I feel we all need a really good cry sometime .. Olivia is the ballad princess and Adele is ballad queen . 2021 has been good .
