RIP Peaches, while the chorus was a bit repetitive, ended up being a great year-defining hit

It was, however, a worthy hit.

In the real world, Good 4 U was the real Song of the Summer, not Butter. In an alternate dimension, Kiss Me More was the real song of the summer, not Butter.

11 years gap between first and 2nd top 40. What was the record? Probably Jimmy Cliff, who went about 24 years between 1969's "Wonderful World, Beautiful People" and 1993's remake of "I Can See Clearly Now". Very close behind: Aaron Neville, who went 23 years between "Tell It Like It Is" in 1966 and "Don't Know Much" with Linda Ronstadt in 1989. Other big gaps between first and second Top 40 hits: - Murray Head, 14 years between "Superstar" (as in "Jesus Christ Superstar") and "One Night In Bangkok" - Enya, 12 years between "Orinoco Flow" and "Only Time" - The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band aka The Dirt Band, 10 years between "Mr. Bojangles" and "An American Dream" - Brenda Russell, 9 years between "So Good, So Right" and "Piano in the Dark" The time lines are approximate; I didn't have the months the songs charted so the lengths may be off give or take a few months. And I wouldn't be surprised if someone with a featured credit as their second Top 40 might also have a very long gap from their first.

Also, honorable mention to Jose Feliciano, who had two Top 40 hits in 1968, "Light My Fire" and "Hi-Heel Sneakers," and then didn't hit the Top 40 again for another 50 years, when he had a third top 40 hit when "Feliz Navidad" finally got that high. (And there may be another artist with a Christmas song who I'm overlooking who may hold the true record.)

Speaking of Christmas songs, Michael Buble went about 10 years between "Haven't Met You Yet" and "It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas."

I'm guessing we aren't counting features here as well right? Features count. Weeknd has: SYT TMB You Right And Hurricane if you count it

For the top 40 gaps, there's also Billy Rae Cyrus's bizarre career!
Achy Breaky Heart (#4 in Jul 1992) Ready, Set, Don't Go with Miley Cyrus (#37 in Feb 2008) - 16 years Old Town Road with Lil Nas X (#1 in Apr 2019) - 9 years

I don't understand Boomplay isn't suppose to be an nigerian music app that gives unlimited access to African songs ? I can't figure out what impact this will have on the US HOT100

I don't understand Boomplay isn't suppose to be an nigerian music app that gives unlimited access to African songs ? I can't figure out what impact this will have on the US HOT100 The one song to keep an eye on that may see a boost from this is Essence, which has two Nigerian artists on it (Wizkid and Tems). We will immediately know the impact Boomplay has on the Hot 100 by its position next week, whether it stays close to where it was this week (little to no impact) or if it moves up close to the Top 5.

Weeknd has: SYT TMB You Right And Hurricane if you count it Can't believe I forgot about You Right. Thanks. I won't count Hurricane because he isn't credited as a featured/co-lead artist on the song.

With You Right leaving the top 10 of Radio Songs, no The Weeknd songs in that tier. I would think it's been a while since that was true.

Cold Heart is looking like it might outpeak all of the songs it interpolates.
