Any Billboard chart created in the last decade or so is meaningless. None of them that I recall function well (Social, the new one, the Artist 100...) Not sure if Streaming Songs is that recent but it's the only one that gives any sort of decent data. Streaming Songs is 2013 so yes, in the last decade. Global 200 is nice too.

Global 200 is fine, the Global 200 excluding US is a dumb chart though. I get the logic of wanting to see how songs are doing globally without one market having so much influence single handledly, but excluding a market altogether is just dumb.
It doesn’t consider the future, which is a country like India that has a popular 4x the size of US finally transitioning to streaming fully, then becoming the dominant market and taking over 80% of the chart and the same issue still existing. They should’ve did a second chart in which markets are more equalized. Global 200 counts raw streams, while the other chart is more weighted based on market size (large markets get streams divided by 3, medium markets get streams divided by 2, small markets get streams divided by 1 is a random example of weighing markets) to get an idea of which songs are relevant in the most markets.

I can see India, as well as maybe China making big waves as time goes on. Same with Japan, as the market is still huge. Japan's just very slow to get on board with streaming. Physical sales are still incredibly high.

I think a Global chart just for Asia (whether it be from Billboard or maybe some other chart) would be interesting to see, especially since physicals are still a big thing here. I think Eastern market is vastly different from Western ones and it'd be cool to compare and contrast.

Let's look at what makes the Global 200 and Streaming charts worthwhile though--good data. That is something lacking for most of the new charts that we view--rightly so--as subject to easy manipulation.

Interesting to see how easy it was to just inflate songs at that point compared to years following post-Soundscan. This song would've been made a top 20 hit at the least in 1990 pre-Soundscan, yet probably missed top 50 on a chart in 1999 with post-Soundscan tracking of sales/all radio formats. Older charts would have been wild if all formats had been included in the radio panel. Massive R&B hits like "Atomic Dog", "Between The Sheets", and "Juicy Fruit"...plus rock songs from acts like Van Halen and Led Zeppelin...would have been MUCH bigger on the Hot 100. George Strait and Alabama would have racked up like 30+ top 40 hits each in the 80s if Country airplay had been factored in.

Regarding useless charts, Butter is #1 in Weekly Hot Trending Songs. As with Permission to Dance, it isn't even in Hot 100 Recurrents.

I look at that chart and wonder if that is a U.S. chart or an Asia chart. That chart is filled with BTS songs as well as songs I have never heard before by K Pop groups.

It's a social-media based chart, from what we have talked about earlier.

I just realized that Big Energy is at least (am I missing any other song?) the third song to chart in the Hot 100 that samples Genius of Love. The other two that I'm aware of are Fantasy and Return of the Mack. I don't know if Provide, which charted earlier this and is recognized as sampling the latter would be considered one as well.

There was also Provide by G-Eazy that I’m pretty sure samples it.

I can see Big Energy becoming a hit, it's a radio friendly pop rap song that Dr. Luke is clearly trying to make Latto into a Doja Cat type rapper.

The song becomes one of just 15 No. 1s, among 400 total leaders, to reign for at least 10 weeks.
The Kid LAROI and Justin Bieber's "Stay" has proven aptly titled when it comes to Billboard's Pop Airplay chart, as the song adds a 10th week at No. 1 on the list dated Nov. 6.
The single, released on Raymond Braun/Columbia/Def Jam, is just the 15th No. 1 to reign for double-digit weeks, among 400 total leaders, dating to the chart's inception in October 1992.
Here's a recap of the longest-leading No. 1s on the chart, which reflects airplay, as tabulated by MRC Data, on over 150 mainstream top 40-formatted radio stations.
Most Weeks at No. 1 on Billboard's Pop Airplay Chart: 14, "The Sign," Ace of Base, first led Feb. 12, 1994 11, "Closer," The Chainsmokers feat. Halsey, Oct. 8, 2016 11, "Over and Over," Nelly feat. Tim McGraw, Nov. 6, 2004 11, "Torn," Natalie Imbruglia, April 25, 1998 11, "I Love You Always Forever," Donna Lewis, Aug. 31, 1996 11, "One Sweet Day," Mariah Carey & Boyz II Men, Dec. 9, 1995 10, "Stay," The Kid LAROI & Justin Bieber, Sept. 4, 2021 10, "Circles," Post Malone, Nov. 16, 2019 10, "Blurred Lines," Robin Thicke feat. T.I. + Pharrell, July 20, 2013 10, "We Belong Together," Mariah Carey, July 2, 2005 10, "How You Remind Me," Nickelback, Dec. 22, 2001 10, "Bye Bye Bye," 'N Sync, March 4, 2000 10, "My Heart Will Go On," Celine Dion, Feb. 7, 1998 10, "Don't Speak," No Doubt, Dec. 14, 1996 10, "I Know," Dionne Farris, April 1, 1995
"Stay" has topped the multi-metric, all-genre Billboard Hot 100 for seven total weeks. It has drawn 1.1 billion cumulative in airplay audience and 537.6 million U.S. streams and has sold 177,200 downloads from its release through Oct. 28.
As for the song's further, well, staying power, "I don't think it's going to slow down anytime soon," says Erik Bradley, music director at Audacy-owned KNOU Los Angeles and assistant program director/md at WBBM-FM Chicago, both of which report to the Pop Airplay chart. "I predicted a few months ago that it would probably be in power rotation through the holidays and into the new year. We're still on track for that timeline."

For the two other people who care, Sirius XM now has a 2010's station (channel 11) I remember back in 2014 thinking how cool it would be for these songs to have their own platform after time passed. And we're here

I’m very surprised Blinding Lights didn’t make the list of 10-week pop #1’s. I guess the competition was stiff in spring 2020.

Nice. I'll have to check that channel out myself.
Edit: I suppose that was the update I got on Monday evening that irritated me because it took several minutes.

I especially like the 90/00's Sirius XM Fly. It's going to be interesting getting into the 2010s. I think it's too soon tbh.

^It just fell short. It got 9 weeks at #1 and got interrupted by That's What I Like.
Blinding Lights is said to have gotten 6 non-consecutive weeks at #1 but 60 weeks total in the chart.

^I just corrected it. It seems the previous edit less than an hour ago changed because it was originally correct. Suspiciously, that's the user's only edit to date and his username is given by his IP Address rather than an actual username: 2001:56A:FA53:5C00:E122:3273:9C59:9514.
