Interesting because you've been arguing that it wouldn't have gone #1 without sales in that other thread for days, despite being wrong every time you post. Interesting that you already forgot! It's true that it wouldn't have gone #1 without sales. It already had no airplay, so that would mean ATW would have been #1 on streaming alone, which is absolutely false. I get ATW's streaming numbers are good, but let's not exaggerate and pretend they were record-setting. Without the additional versions, All Too Well was already locked to go #1. What is not clicking?

Great to see "Oh My God" top 5. Hopefully it'll stabilise and not drop too much despite the Christmas influx on its way.

Just that they were very good for a 10 minute song.

If Stay remains in the Top 10 the next 2 weeks, it will beat out KMM for the most consecutive weeks in the Top 10 to begin its run without dropping out in 2021. If it makes it through the Christmas barrage without leaving the Top 10, it will almost surely break Circles record of first 38 weeks in the Top 10.

Rockin Around The Christmas Tree already at 14?? Definitely expect it and AIWFCIY (and maybe even Jingle Bell Rock) to enter the top 10 next week, which is probably gonna fuck over Cold Heart's chances to go top 10 until 2022

Seeing the Christmas songs come back in full force this week reminds me that this is always the point in the year where I stop caring about assessing the Hot 100 as a whole chart and just focus on individual non-Christmas songs that are gaining or losing traction. It makes this activity at least somewhat bearable during the last month of the year (outside of the usual list season rush).

Just think, if not for mass buying and EOM, we might be looking at 15+ weeks at #1 for Stay. I don't get it. What about EOM's run for you makes it an illigetimate #1? I would argue it's more of an "organic" #1 than Hello since it doesn't have the massive hype and is looking to have some legs. I don't think they're calling EOM illegitimate. It's just a hypothetical scenario where EOM wasn't released, and therefore, Stay remained at #1 for all the weeks it's been at #2, highlighting the song's longetivity.

There's been a new top 10 on the Hot 100 every week since October through November and this week seems to be the last week that happens this year.

Songs like KMM and G4u made their runs during the summer when there was weak competition. Stay maintained the Top 10 through CLB, Taylor, Adele, and now Christmas music. Proves that Stay is clearly the biggest hit of 2021.

I think it’s to accept that Cold Heart won’t be going into the top 10 at least until January.

Does "Cold Heart" have enough juice left to maintain for the next 5 weeks?

It's becoming a lot harder to make an argument against Stay being the biggest hit of 2021:

Does "Cold Heart" have enough juice left to maintain for the next 5 weeks? Yes, I think it will get a second wind on AC post-Christmas, and I think it’s streaming and sales figures will remain strong.

I was told by somebody here that All Too Well wasn't a legitimate hit and was just sales fueled. What happened? Odd how All Too Well, a gimmick-fueled number one, fell only to number four, rather than dropping something crazy, like for example, when a song drops 11-52 in its second week.

Do we really need to be having this discussion at all? The reason why we keep points throughout the year is because longevity throughout the year often trumps peak weeks and #1's of week at number one on genre charts and the like.
