^ Those predictions seem weird. They have "RATCT" ahead of "AIWFCIY" in overall streams, yet "AIWFCIY" ended the week ahead of "RATCT" at Spotify, was #1 at Amazon all week, and led "RATCT" at YouTube and Apple Music. Where is "RATCT" getting more streams to lead overall?

If that prediction holds, this will be the week we officially say goodbye to Levitating after a great run.

And I guess they are probably assuming that the White Christmas fiasco on Spotify got fixed and those streams went to Holly Jolly Christmas.

Yeah when is this "mapping issue" going to be fixed, and more so how will they account for what already happened?

5 christmas songs already? Nice point gap for Adele though, she stands no chance week of christmas obviously but maybe she can lead in the chart week ending 12/18 as well.

Cold Heart is gaining in airplay, holding steady in sales, but lost a bit in streaming in this wonky week. I'm sure it will bounce back once the Christmas songs are done.

I am still #bitter about Megan Thee Stallion's "Body" missing Top 10 during last holiday season (despite being like the #6 highest non-Christmas song at one point). I'll be very frustrated if "Cold Heart" also similarly misses this year.
(Disclaimer: I don't think holiday songs should be ineligible or anything like that. I actually like seeing them do so well. Would love to see "Santa Tell Me" break into the Top 10 actually!)

Yeah I'm thinking "AIWFCIY" might only get 1 week at #1 this year, but I don't know how the points for "EOM" are compared to the competition last year.

EOM is a fair bit stronger than Mood was at this point last year, and more or less on par with Circles in 2019.* Even so, I think AIWFCIY will overtake it for at least 2 weeks. *Christmas songs were a bit stronger in points in 2019 due to UGC and logged-out YouTube views still being counted for the Hot 100, so it's tough to say whether Circles would have been able to stay at #1 for another week if those factors didn't count.

Wouldn't allowing holiday songs to chart on the Hot 100 but not including them on the All-Time list (or only including their first year or something) achieve the goal?

Not really because the weeks still count on their run, but if they are going to allow holiday songs to chart, then at least the Top 10 non-holiday songs should get protected from recurrency regardless of position. Blinding Lights should have not lost a week of its run last year, when it would have been in the Top 10 pretty much any other week of the year.

I mean I used to be annoyed that Christmas songs would take up the charts for a week but like, I've accepted that's reality. It's not worth forcing people to listen to less Christmas music.
There's more important things to petition for.

Yeah, I'm with Drem on this issue. I will say that the one good thing the Christmas songs do every year is kick out most of the old songs that don't need to chart anymore. Yes, a lot of them do come back to fill in the gaps left behind, but by then their chances to make the upcoming Year-End have been lowered. And I've learned to adjust my chart-watching habits in December and early January to focus on a select few songs' chart runs rather than the state of the Hot 100 as a whole.

Wouldnβt this petition make the charts even more inaccurate. That argument works both ways. Removing Top 10 non-holiday songs would also make the chart inaccurate as well.

While the Greatest of All-Time question as well as the decade-end one might be valid, for the year-end charts whatever points a song earns on a given week regardless of actual position as long as it charts should be what really matters. Holiday songs aren't really taking away a song's point unless they would have charted without them. I guess allowing songs that went recurrent because of them if they manage to get enough points once the holiday songs have departed seems to be a fair compromise.

Everytime this comes up I need to bring up the same point. The Hot 100 is a 7 day chart to track popularity in a 7 day period -- not all-time or decade or whatever. Excluding certain popular songs to protect Blinding Lights legacy only will really upset fans(or fan) of that song.
Christmas songs are popular this time of year and have actually been that way every year since forever.
From 1963-2011 Christmas songs had very restrictive charting criteria - imagine where they swould stand on alltime charts now if the same rules had been in place every year

How bout y'all just remove the holiday songs from your mind when viewing the charts if you don't like them included?
