It appears that the recent gains for "White Christmas" on the Daily US Spotify Chart might actually be legitimate, The fact that it managed to rise in streams again after it fell from #1 to #23 should prove that it's recent daily streams might actually not be fake. dremolus - solarpunk, I think that it's perfectly normal for these other Holiday songs in the Top 200 of the Daily US Spotify chart to have all declined in Streams. So what if "White Christmas" is the only Holiday song that managed to gain in streams on today's Spotify update, That shouldn't make it suspicious. ... how does that make it seem ANY less suspicious. What variable could possibly be making White Christmas more popular than all the other Christmas classics on some days, and a middle of the pack one on others?

In a crazy turn of events, White Christmas is up to 3 on Spotify. I love the double standard. If this was Taylor Swift, Olivia Rodrigo, or an artist that was beloved, people wouldn’t bat an eye at this and pretend that nothing was wrong with it. I strongly agree with you, It's crazy how many hypocritical Members there are here on Pulse. And then those same Members end up calling us Hypocrites.

That's my point. Also I want a concrete example of a song bouncing up and down the Spotify charts by an artist like Taylor Swift or Olivia Rodrigo and us not caring because if you cant give one, then quit it with this "double standard" bullshi!t

These Spotify gains would make a lot more sense if people made tweets about Bing Crosby on November 1st like "it's HIS time to shine" and they started playing White Christmas but that's not the case. White Christmas is obviously a very well known and popular song, but in 2021 it's simply not a major cultural force in the way All I Want For Christmas Is You or even Rockin Around The Christmas Tree or Jingle Bell Rock are. Hell it didn't even re-enter the hot 100 this week. I don't know WHY Spotify would want to bot White Christmas of all songs but I can't think of a scenario where this isn't suspicious

There probably is some sort of shuffle going on with "White Christmas." However, isn't playlist placement how most, if not all, big holiday tracks receive a good chunk of their streaming? Like, how many are typing in the name of a song and playing it via that method? Or playing it from an act's page? Playlist placement affects tracks in general, though I'd think holiday ones even more so.

I can't speak to validity, but possible explanation.

^ This proves what I've always thought it was, that Spotify has glitched and whenever somebody shuffles a playlist with it, White Christmas will be the first song to play. Spotify's shuffle button is an algorithm centered to your listening habits, unlike Apple Music. They play what they think you want to hear, meaning they can somewhat control what gets played. This has happened several times before with that one French Montana song and whatever the Porky song was. People continuing to deny it just for the sake to argue for no reason need to stop.

That would explain the odd trends for "A Holly Jolly Christmas."
Now, how about Sinatra's 'Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas"? (it's been in and out, had big rises and falls)

Shawn Mendes is dropping a breakup ballad tomorrow at 7pm ET. already? lmao I mean their relationship was basically an intense promo for "Señorita" so are we surprised their breakup is meant to promote their music? :kii: I have a feeling this will be bland and boring like everything else Shawn has put out in the last 2 years, but I'll be checking it out. Maybe I'll be surprised!

I guess it confirms what most people have always suspected. Spotify streams are easily manipulated through shuffle, playlists, algorithm and what not. Nothing shocking

Well this explains my other confusion of A Holly Jolly Christmas not appearing on the spotify 200 It's weird that "WC" seems to be in direct parallel to this song. As in, if it was only a glitch causing "WC" to play first, why would it affect "HJC" specifically and this much? There is more going on than just "WC" getting played.

This has happened several times before with that one French Montana song and whatever the Porky song was. People continuing to deny it just for the sake to argue for no reason need to stop. Writings on the Wall was not a shuffle glitch. It was fake streams bought. The song was playing in repeat for users who weren’t even listening to music. They also had logins detected on their accounts from other countries. And the same thing happened with “Tommy Lee” (another Post feature) and some Tyga song which peaked #7 then magically disappeared from Top 200 a week later. Dre London (manager for Post Malone & Tyga) uses Spotify bots. If those tweets are correct, the White Christmas issue is also more of songs somehow being incorrectly combined in the system rather than a shuffling issue.

Bing Crosby stans from the 1930s have resurrected from their graves to outstream Mariah.

Either one of the guys working for Spotify needs to get their shit together and fix whatever glitch causes it, or we need need to put together a strike force to put down the necromancer that had been reviving all the Bing Crosby stans

So there is for sure a glitch causing some Holiday songs to be counted as others. Katy's "Cozy Little Christmas" went from 41 million total streams last week to now showing 219 million total streams. Also glitches with Carly Rae Jepsen’s “Last Christmas & Taylor's "White Christmas" covers.

It might be different for everyone else, but for me, Spotify has always been glitchy. I've never seen it outright redirect plays to different songs, though, let alone on such a large scale. I assume it'll be fixed by the end of the week.

I strongly agree with you, It's crazy how many hypocritical Members there are here on Pulse. And then those same Members end up calling us Hypocrites. First off, it has absolutely f**k all to do with the actual topic at hand. Secondly, it hasn't happened with any of Pulse's favorites yet*, so there's literally no evidence of this hypocritical nature you speak of. Thirdly, no one is calling you a hypocrite, quit trying to play a victim card you don't have. And lastly, you are certainly not one to talk about poor behavior on this site. You literally joked about being a woman when you weren't. Sit down before you fall over, because you ain't got a leg to stand on here. The first sign of you being in the wrong here should be siding with the f**king Blinding Lights should chart forever/Fancy Like will go #1 guy. *And to add to this point, not only has none of Pulse's favorite artists been seen charting with obviously suspicious streams, but they have been spotted with suspicious airplay and have been ridiculed for it, such as the time "Look What You Made Me Do" resurrected itself in the top ten on pop airplay and surged to number one only to have a record breaking fall. So I guess we're just ignoring that fact, eh?

Oh man, that week Look What You Made Me Do break the records for spins loss was iconic. I forgot the exact number but didn't it lose like 800 spins in one day in Pop alone? Between that and Willow, Taylor really have a stranglehold over hardest fall records
