Glad to see predictions have "Easy On Me" at #1. Hopefully it'll stay that way in the official chart. I want it to get at least 10 weeks at #1. *_*

I don't see how EOM won't get 10 weeks at #1 at this point. abcdefu has slowed a bit due to the freeze and EOM has a huge airplay advantage.

If 10 weeks at #1 happens, Adele will be the first female artist since...Adele to do that. and with the 11th week, she would be the the first female since Mariah Carey (WBT 14 weeks in 2005) to spend at least 11 weeks at #1.

Expect the top 10 to be late again. And this'll happen again in a couple weeks due to Martin Luther King Jr. Day. That's 3 out of the first 4 weeks of the calendar year with delayed chart reveals. Lovely.

^ I would say have some compassion for hard workers simply taking off holidays to relax, but the fact of their increasing paywalls and recent doubling of their subscription price makes me lose a lot of sympathy.

Idk, being a mainly print publication that has had to try to maintain readership and interest in a virtual environment, adding to that, charts themselves are probably having less relevance in todayβs industry outside of the obvious stanbases, who likely donβt contribute much to the subscription numbers anyway, itβs possible that theyβre probably getting closer to grasping at straws in attempts now to stay afloat.

I know it's a prediction but abcdefu is still far behind Easy On Me. That's it's only competition at the moment unless something else pops up.

Um. Thereβs a reason why all these artists are now doing 25 gimmicks despite never doing gimmicks 10 years ago. Charts matter more than ever.

you know itβs a slow week when we have essays and back-and-forths about Drakeβs catalog and songwriting credits π€¦π½ never change, pulsemusic dot proboards dot com. I'm sure JukeboxJacob will be here any minute to point out the condescension. No need to single me out when a large portion of posters here are snarky. the difference is, my ~comedic commentary~ is aimed at no one in particular, just stating objectively what is being discussed to point out how little there is to discuss about the Hot 100 itself this week. I didn't write that to condescend thegreatdivine and I'm pretty sure she didn't take it that way either. n-e-ways...

It's gonna be even more crazy in 2024 when both these holidays occur on Mondays.Β We had that in Dec 2017/Jan 2018, and to make things even crazier, we had an intermediate 1/3/2018 chart in between 2 normally scheduled chart (12/30/2017 and 1/6/2018).

January 6, 200708 07 We Fly High - Jim Jones This quite possibly has the cheapest sounding production of any modern hit ever.
