not really. "Woman" has gathered all these weeks because it charted before becoming a single. "Levitating" didn't do much of that.

I was thinking more in regards to cumulative weeks on the chart. If Woman ends up being the hit I think it will, it should have a good 25-30 more weeks on the chart reaching that year milestone.

A Levitating tea... Also, I think for the most part Drake's eras have been handled pretty well. One exception I can point out right away would be their failure to give Too Good a video. That should have been an easy Top 10 hit. There's so many things wrong about how Drake handle the Views album, and yet it's still one of his most successful album, and One Dance is his biggest song ever, even without a proper video.

Not very strong of a comparison then; plenty of songs have achieved 52+ weeks on the Hot 100 at this point.

(Drake has made many bigger miscalculations/mistakes — since the start of his career, he's given away some of his biggest hits to other artists),
What are these? F***in' Problems (A$AP Rocky) Truffle Butter (Nicki Minaj) Blessings (Big Sean) Look Alive (BlocBoy JB) Yes Indeed (Lil Baby) Sicko Mode (Travis Scott) Going Bad (Rick Ross) No Guidance (Chris Brown) Life Is Good (Future) Other songs he wrote for other artists/gave away: Fall For Your Type (Jamie Foxx) RIP (Rita Ora) Still Got It (Tyga) Un-thinkable (I'm Ready) [Alicia Keys] Mine (Beyoncè) One Life (Justin Bieber) She Will (Lil Wayne) I'm Single (Lil Wayne) I'm On One, No New Friends, For Free, Popstar, Greece (DJ Khaled) My Love (Majid Jordan) Never Recover (Lil Baby, Gunna) No Shopping (French Montana) Gold Roses (Rick Ross) B.B. King Freestyle (Lil Wayne) Solid (Young Thug) Seeing Green (Nicki Minaj) Stars Align (Majid Jordan)

I know sicko mode and life is good are t2 hits he co-wrote that he's also on. I don't think that's giving them away if he's on them.

I know sicko mode and life is good are t2 hits he co-wrote that he's also on. I don't think that's giving them away if he's on them. He gave them away because they were originally his songs. It counts because he gets relegated to a featured artist instead of a lead artist on songs that were originally his. The first part of Sicko Mode before Travis comes on was a full Drake song that got cut short. Travis took that part, used it as an intro, recorded his verse over another beat and then asked Drake for another verse, which ended up being the third part of the song. The songs I listed (whether Drake is featured or not) were originally his songs which he gave away (the reference tracks for many of them are online). Un-thinkable by Alicia Keys and Mine by Beyoncè are the only songs he specifically wrote for both acts because they asked him to. Others were songs he recorded for himself and ended up giving away.

If you give something away, generally it shouldn't still be clearly credited as yours. It's not away.
For example, Taylor's solo written CMA Song of the Year & Grammy winner Better Man by sole credited artist Little Big Town. Or Taylor global smash This is What You Came For by credited artists Calvin Harris & Rihanna.
Or a bunch of Sia songs.

fridayteenage I don't get the point you're trying to make. None of those songs are Drake's songs anymore because he isn't a lead artist on them. He's kept on many of those songs because he's the biggest artist in the US. Having Drake on a song increases the hit potential of the song exponentially. SZA wrote Consideration for Rihanna but Rihanna kept her on the song as a featured artist. That doesn't mean it's a SZA song. Mikky Ekko wrote Stay for Rihanna. She kept him on the song as a featured artist but that doesn't make it a Mikky Ekko song and it doesn't mean he didn't give the song away. Future wrote Loveeeeeee Song for Rihanna and she kept him on as a featured artist. Doesn't mean he didn't give the song away. Also, there are other songs Drake wrote and gave away which he doesn't appear on (Un-thinkable by Alicia Keys, RIP by Rita Ora, One Life by Justin Bieber).

Drake also wrote Facts, Father Stretch My Hands and 30 Hours by Kanye West. He also wrote the hook to Yikes, another Kanye West song. He wrote I've Been That Girl by Melanie Fiona. He actually got his start as a songwriter for a Dr. Dre songwriting camp years before his mainstream debut in 2009.

I just don't see why making songs into successful collabs would be the biggest mistakes of his career.

Imagine Taylor Swift giving away 7 or 8 of her biggest hits to other artists and being credited as a featured artist on only some of them. Yes, they still count as hits for her for the songs she's featured on but she doesn't get most of the chart points for the songs on the Hot 100 and so she'd rank lower on Billboard's GOAT list. The millions of units the songs move wouldn't count towards her RIAA singles tally. The streams the songs pull won't count towards her tally on Spotify either.
Giving songs away is something Drake has always done so they might not register as mistakes or miscalculations to him but it doesn't mean they aren't. Going Bad, Yes Indeed, Look Alive and No Guidance are massive hits that could have all been on Scorpion. Him not doing enough to push/promote his songs is also another way he handicaps himself but that's for another day.
If anything, it just speaks to how strong of a hitmaker he is that he's given that many hits away and still has a lot more hits as a lead artist but as a fan, it's frustrating to see how many more #1/top 10 hits he'd have if he only just pushed certain songs more or how many more hits he'd have if he didn't give so many of them away.

He already has over 100 Billboard hits and was the Billboard Artist of the Decade. Being frustrated about some trivial technicalities is kinda silly in Drake's case.

magik I don't think so. It's a new decade and his music career continues. He's 35 with an active career so it's not like he's some legacy act. I'd just like to see him give certain songs a better chance to do well and not have him give huge hits away all the time. That's all. kimberly you tell no lies. It's a very slow week indeed.

Yeah not surprised. Bad Bunny was the most streamed artist of 2021. EL ULTIMO dropping in December + having a hefty back catalog will do that.

Bad Bunny's numbers are insane. He was the 8th most streamed artist on Spotify (all-time) in November 2020. After his 3rd studio album he entered the new 2021 as the 7th most streamed artist. He was 5.1B streams behind Ed Sheeran (back then #2), now after a year he is 760M behind Ed (now sitting at #3). With the numbers he is doing Ed & Justin will fall soon. For someone who started his career in 2016 & first album in 2018 it is really impressive. #8 ->#4 in a year and a month. And Spotify is still growing in LatAm. Another impressive climb is Taylor Swift, from feeling 22 to her iconic 13. She was 6B behind #10 (Rihanna) in Nov 2020, now she is only 1.5B behind the current #10 (Travis Scott). #22->#13 and more re-recordings to come. Only one way to go - up. Bts went from #33 to #16. From 7.8B behind #10 to 4B behind the current #10. They are starting to take off in India + Spotify is growing in some Asian countries. In 2022 it will be Bad Bunny vs them for the most streamed act of the year. And with the way Spotify is growing we might get a brand new artist that come out and surges in top 10 within 2 years From the same stat account on twitter. 2021 | Artist | Streams | 2020 | Artist | Streams | 2019 | Artist | Streams | 1 | Bad Bunny | 10.1B | 1 | Bad Bunny | 9.7B | 1 | Post Malone | 7.6B | 2 | Taylor Swift | 9.2B | 2 | Juice WRLD | 7.31B | 2 | Billie Eilish | 7B | 3 | BTS | 8.6B | 3 | Drake | 7.26B | 3 | Ariana Grande | 6.8B | 4 | Justin Bieber | 8.5B | 4 | J Balvin | 7.21B | 4 | Ed Sheeran | 6.1B | 5 | Drake | 8.5B | 5 | The Weeknd | 6.55B | 5 | J Balvin | 5.92B | 6 | The Weeknd | 7.5B | 6 | BTS | 6.23B | 6 | Bad Bunny | 5.9B | 7 | Ariana Grande | 6.6B | 7 | Taylor Swift | 5.92B | 7 | Drake | 5.7B | 8 | J Balvin | 6.4B | 8 | Ariana Grande | 5.85B | 8 | Khalid | 5.4B | 9 | Juice WRLD | 6.3B | 9 | Justin Bieber | 5.53B | 9 | Ozuna | 5B | 10 | Olivia Rodrigo | 5.9B | 10 | Billie Eilish | 5.35B | 10 | XXXTentacion | 4.7B |
