Hope that armys go spend all the money for this chart and leave the Hot 100 alone. That won't be necessary. On Spotify VN since the charts for most streamed artists/albums began being published, BTS is #1 each day (73 days straight), no other artist has reached #1 on Vietnam Spotify (artist chart). And this is with genuine streaming, now about...
I will provide a little update regarding the Spotify Testing that ARMYs around the world have been doing for some monhts. Vietnam was the one that started it and got results.
tl;dr you can stream a song 20 times a day and they will all count for the chart.
The 21st and oward gets filltered (it used to be 10, but on 22nd October Spotify changed the cap to 20 for whatever reason). You can stream from however many accounts you want from the same IP adress, you can open dozen browsers with different accounts and stream simultaneously thanks to Spotify Web Player. Yup perfect mixture for chaos on the charts.
Yesterday VN ARMY obliterated the daily record, it used to be 241,021. They got 380,465 streams yesterday using their testing. Of course this won't affect total streaming since it requires a lot of time and will only be done for first days of songs/albums. The same reason every song in the most viewed Youtube videos in the first 24 hours is a kpop song.
So Butter had 30,726 legit streams on the 31st, next day 380,465.
And this was done by 1.8k people only.
There is an updated thread for this.

I believe this is the first time Cold Heart has entered the US Spotify top 10. With radio regaining after the holidays, it should be a solid bet to *finally* crack the Hot 100 top 10 this week. Been waiting dang near 5 months since this song was released for Elton John to get his 28th Hot 100 top 10! Hope this is the week it finally happens! (And yes, I know… “Cold Heart” technically isn’t a ‘new’ recording of his… but he IS credited as co-lead artist, and it’s on HIS album… so a top 10 song with his name on it is a top 10, regardless.)

Some Taylor stans trying to come for Adele's success is funny to see. I'm sure they were happy when radio spammed TS songs during 1989 but when radio supports another female, they complain about it. :kii: I'm glad you brought that up to see if it's commensurate, rather than just to attack/troll while missing the point I assume. Shake it Off: 4 weeks #1 sales 2 weeks #1 streams = 4 weeks #1 Blank Space 7 weeks #1 sales 7 weeks #1 streams = 7 weeks #1 Bad Blood 5 weeks #1 sales = 1 week #1 Ratios: Bad Blood 5:1 = 5Blank Space 14:7 = 2Shake it Off 6:4, = 1.5Easy on Me 5 weeks #1 streams 2 weeks #1 sales = 7 weeks #1 so far Ratio 1:1 = 1

Most songs gained on the update. Several Country songs reached new radio audience peaks. Also, Easy on Me is the first song since Driver's License to reach a 120 Mediabase radio audience. Need to Know ended up with the biggest loss, which is the smallest one for the biggest loser I have noticed since I started doing them.

There’s barely any competition on the charts right now, so The Weeknd is going for an easy #1 reach on both the Hot 100 and album charts (assuming the releases are on Friday). However I am concerned because “Take My Breath” was met with mild reception after it was hyped up to feel like a lead single. Dropping everything at once will probably only result in one hit this era, unless he’s got surprises like remixes or special guests on the album.
He has dropped so much content these last 2 years, I just worry this might feel like too much and too soon.

It should be noted that DL reached this threshold prior to the last big Mediabase recalibration that occurred in April of last year.

Keep in mind when TMB was released, SYT was still going strong and even BL was still on the charts. I’m sure all of that has died down now 5 months later but at this point its definitely hit or miss. I know all of us might be tired of him featuring on everything and them underperforming but he doesn’t do that well in longevity of his featured content (with the exception of You Right, Love Me Harder and Low Life), but he might be fine in the long run.
A good example of this is his career in 2019, he featured on random songs and they all didn’t do well and people were quick to jump to conclusions and say his career was over, then Heartless got released and people still weren’t convinced as it didn’t stay too long in the top 10. But then Blinding Lights did a 180 and literally became the biggest hit of all time, therefore proving people wrong of course. For this upcoming era, it’s different as AH lasted way longer than all of his eras and the fact that he’s following the same era that has the biggest song could potentially hurt him. TMB was just released at the wrong time, but i think it’s justifiable if he releases something right now (After Hours is almost 2 years old already).

The Weeknd should easily dethrone Adele on Billboard 200, but it gets a little tricky with the Hot 100. If he drops the album all at once with no lead single, then the numbers amongst the tracks will probably be more spread out. Unless, of course, he releases an accompanying video. He has never dropped an album outside of the start of the tracking week although he makes every era unique and different. I think the Lead Single-2nd Single-Promo Single-Album Drop-Post Album Single format is the best thing for him instead of dropping the project all at once. We’ve seen a textbook example of that with MDM even though if that was just an EP, but still there was barely any longevity charts wise besides the 20 weeks COMN had and it then just faded away in people’s heads. I just don’t want him to drop the entire thing, especially in the middle of the week and then it not aging well. If TMB is on The Dawn, then dropping a 2nd single would be the best choice to gain the hype for this upcoming project and then release the entire thing on a friday where it could get maximum exposure and last longer in the test of time.
