Future Nostalgia was only 11 tracks too. As long as the quality is there, I’ll be happy. Not sure how I feel about the cover but I remember feeling the same about FN. I’m just glad we finally have a release date.

A shorter album is best for her. She couldn't even pull off 11 with Future Nostalgia, lol. And her debut was filler af. Based on the first two singles, this seems like it's going to be fine tuned af.
Love the album cover. I'm just glad we finally got a release date.

Her website shows a clear vinyl instead of a turquoise vinyl. I wanna find out where the turquoise vinyl is being sold. The turquoise vinyl, which is labelled as blue lp on her website, is being sold on her UK and EU store. Also, there's a limited edition recycled red vinyl being sold on HMV.

Hopefully with the date in May we'll get another single a week before the album perhaps? "Training Season" will likely be low on most charts by then (It's already starting to fall below "Houdini" on streaming in a number of places).

Bruno Mars headlined during his second album's run. I don't really think they're looking for legacy status, just enough well known hits to fill 12 minutes, and well... she's got that at this point. Her career is *good*, but not Superbowl good. To date in the US, she has had 5 top 10 songs, 0 number 1 hits and 0 number 1 albums. Bruno Mars, at the point he performed Superbowl, already had 12 top 10 songs and 6 number 1 hits. Superbowl is really a place for people who have shifted the music lanscape and/or left a legacy that will be remembered 20-40 years from now. I love Dua, but in the US, she hasn't hit those marks. Katy Perry, Black Eyed Peas, Maroon 5... All acts known for pumping out radio bops, none known for shifting the music landscape or having a 40 year legacy. If they were all deemed fit to headline the SBHT, I don't see why Dua wouldn't be in the next few years. (Also, Dua has a year-end Hot 100 #1 song (something not even Katy has) and the longest-charting female song of all time)

Ugh hopefully it becomes either a Target exclusive or Urban Outfitters exclusive. Not a fan of clear vinyls and I don’t wanna pay for the deluxe set with the blue/white vinyl

I have no defense for the album version (besides obviously supporting the intended message) BUT this version is a slay to me, idc:

Yeah, there is no way in which she would draw global excitement for a solo headline show. As a guest? Sure! As a headliner if she manages to keep up solid work in 5 years? Probably. But right now? Absolutely not. So you think Dua Lipa would draw less excitement than Usher?

Absolutely not. So you think Dua Lipa would draw less excitement than Usher? Yes. Usher also drew excitement or at least familiarity with several generations. My parents for example, are not really "Fans" of Usher but they at least knew who he was and know some songs like "Yeah" - they could not even identity who Dua was or any song she sang. I'm not saying she isn't talented or can't do it in the future, but as of right now, there is no doubt that yes Usher would be a much bigger draw than her.

Idk, I feel like it'd be hard to draw less excitement than Usher. His performance is sitting at 25 million views on Youtube, that's less than 1/4 of what JLo/Shakira got in a similar time frame. I feel like there'd be way more excitement and talk around the performance for Dua than there was for Usher. To be honest, the only thing I saw about Usher's performance on social media was Alicia Keys actually.

Well, that is also two fan bases being combined together plus they are also attractive women so men like to watch that on replay LOL but still, ultimately I just don't think a Dua Lipa halftime show right now seems all that exciting. If she was a guest with someone, that would be nice. Just my opinion

Dua Lipa is struggling to even launch this album in the US. She is not ready for the Superbowl, lol. Come on now.

We need Taylor, P!nk, Ariana, and Bieber to do the halftime show before we consider new-ish stars like Dua and Harry.

(Also, Dua has a year-end Hot 100 #1 song (something not even Katy has) and the longest-charting female song of all time) Lol, be real now. Katy Perry has 14 top 10 singles, and a whopping 9 #1 singles BEP has 10 top 10 singles and 3 #1 singles -- and that grows when you add in Will.I.Am and Fergie's solo stuff, which totals an huge 19 Top 10 singles and 7 #1 singles Maroon 5 has 15 top 10 singles and 4 #1 singles (17 top 10 singles if you count Adam Lavine solo work) These artists have not only dominated their respective eras at their peaks, but they have also sustained 20+ year long careers. They absolutely will still have music listened to decades from now and history will remember them as hit makers. Will.I.Am - if you dig into the additional hits he has produced or written for other artists, its insane. That man shaped so much of the music landscape in the 2000's. Katy literally was up there with Gaga reshaping the entire pop landscape that people tried to copy for years afterwards. To say Dua is on any of the levels of these artists is just wild. This doesn't take away from Dua's amazingness and talent, but her resume doesn't stack up at all. And to be quite frank, as a fan of Dua, this next album doesn't appear to be throwing her into superstardom, stadium tour sell out, legacy territory.

Dua is still growing, but established. Not enough for SB tho.
