Good thing music goes beyond the charts eh Charts or no charts, 2004 was a better year in music than 2012. The hip hop/R&B classics of 04 definitely aged better than the pop dance hits of 12. Charts or no chart, it all comes down to individual opinion and what music you connect with more. You connect with 2004 for, and thatâs cool. 2004 was also a great year for music.

I'm impressed by G4U's longevity, didn't expect 40+ weeks at all.
Most weeks on the Hot 100: #1 debuts (58 songs)
Ed Sheeran - Shape Of You 59 Justin Timberlake - Can't Stop The Feeling 52 Taylor Swift - Shake It Off 50 Jonas Brothers - Sucker 47 Olivia Rodrigo - good 4 u 41

One More Night spending 9 weeks at #1 (instead of Gangnam Style) ruined it for me. That alone drops 2012 below 2009 and 2010. For me, 2004 is the gold standard of music for the 21st century. Somebody other than me has the same sentiment! I'm cool with "One More Night" as a song itself, but I despise it just with the fact that it is the song that prevented a #1 reign from an iconic and legendary song in "Gangnam Style" we were ALL upset. One of the biggest Hot 100 controversies of all time

A chaotic & iconic week for the charts That was an epic week. Given the Katy conversation recently â itâs pretty amazing that during a week where the biggest news in music was the death of Whitney Houston and Adele sweeping the Grammys, Katy was such a surefire hitmaker that a new song from her could still overpower both of those events on the charts. (IMHO âPart of Meâ will always be her least memorable #1 â I feel like the follow up âWide Awakeâ ended up as a more notable hit despite âonlyâ hitting #2.) Wide awake vs part of me you are correct. Out of the 8 teenage dream singles, part of me sold the least meaning wide awake also outsold it and peaked higher on pop. Part of me just had a super strong debut

I didnât realize people still cared about âGangnam Styleâ so much. Lol Personally I could care less that it didnât hit number one either. I thought it was cute for a moment and possibly purchased it but didnât listen to it after a few weeks. Maybe back then I thought it was deserving of being num.1 but not because I loved it. Was it a huge seller? Or more YouTube?? I believe gangnam sold about 4.5 million so pretty gigantic.

Let's see how the "aggregating a bunch of questionable predictions together to see if we can get a better prediction" model works, if BB decides to release any of the chart positions today .

what holiday is it this time? Itâs the last day of February, which in pop culture, is the last day of winter. When you walk into any retail store tomorrow, all of the spring and summer stuff will be on the shelves.

My guess is they're just having some sort of technical difficulties, and that the Billboard 200 top ten will become available as soon as they can get it out.

I still think Billboard will release on time. It released properly on February 29, 2016 - the last time release day fell on the last day of February.

âWe Donât Talk About Bruno,â From âEncanto,â Leads Billboard Hot 100 For Fifth Week With five weeks at No. 1, "Bruno" now boasts more weeks at the summit than the other two leaders from Disney movies combined. www.billboard.com/music/chart-beat/we-dont-talk-about-bruno-encanto-hot-100-fifth-week-number-one-1235037107/
By Gary Trust
02/28/2022âWe Donât Talk About Bruno,â from Disneyâs hit animated film Encanto, rules the Billboard Hot 100 songs chart for a fifth week. The song, by Carolina GaitĂĄn, Mauro Castillo, Adassa, Rhenzy Feliz, Diane Guerrero, Stephanie Beatriz and the Encanto Cast (all singing as the characters that they voice in the movie), extends its mark for the most weeks at No. 1 on the Hot 100 ever for a hit from a Disney movie â and now claims more weeks on top than the other two leaders from Disney movies combined. The Hot 100 blends all-genre U.S. streaming (official audio and official video), radio airplay and sales data. All charts (dated March 5, 2022) will update on Billboard.com tomorrow (March 1). For all chart news, you can follow billboard and billboardcharts on both Twitter and Instagram. âBrunoâ drew 29.9 million U.S. streams (down 7%), 7.9 million radio airplay audience impressions (up 23%) and sold 6,600 downloads (down 12%) in the Feb. 18-24 tracking week, according to MRC Data. The ensemble anthem tops the Streaming Songs chart for an eighth week and rebounds 11-5 on Digital Song Sales, which it led for a week. (It pushes 26-24 on the Adult Pop Airplay chart and bullets again at No. 32 on Pop Airplay, up 25% and 28% in plays on each respective ranking.) Upon its Hot 100 coronation four weeks ago, âBrunoâ became the first No. 1 on the chart released on Walt Disney Records; the first leader for its sole writer, Lin-Manuel Miranda; and the second No. 1 from a Disney animated film, after Peabo Bryson and Regina Belleâs âA Whole New World,â from Aladdin, led for a week (March 6, 1993). As âBrunoâ tops the Hot 100 for a fifth frame, it furthers its mark as the longest-leading No. 1 from any Disney movie, animated or live action. The only No. 1 from a Disney film other than âBrunoâ or âWorld,â âAll For Love,â by Bryan Adams, Rod Stewart and Sting, from the live action The Three Musketeers, led for three weeks in 1994. Thus, with five weeks at No. 1, âBrunoâ now boasts more weeks at the summit than the other two leaders from Disney movies combined. Glass Animalsâ âHeat Wavesâ ranks at its No. 2 Hot 100 high for a second consecutive week. It crowns the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs and Hot Alternative Songs charts, both of which use the same multi-metric methodology as the Hot 100, for a 23rd week each. Notably, the top two songs on the Hot 100 were written by a single writer each: as noted above, Lin-Manuel Miranda penned âBruno,â while Glass Animalsâ frontman Dave Bayley wrote âHeat Waves.â A week earlier, the songs marked the first solo-authored titles in the top two simultaneously since Matchbox Twentyâs âBent,â written by the bandâs Rob Thomas, and Vertical Horizonâs âEverything You Want,â written by the groupâs Matt Scannell, placed at Nos. 1 and 2, respectively, on the chart dated July 29, 2000. As âBrunoâ and âHeat Wavesâ add a second week at Nos. 1 and 2, respectively, solo-written songs claim the Hot 100âs top two positions in consecutive weeks for the first time in over 25 years, since Toni Braxtonâs Diane Warren-written âUn-Break My Heartâ and R. Kellyâs self-written âI Believe I Can Flyâ ranked at Nos. 1 and 2, respectively, for four weeks (Dec. 21, 1996-Jan. 11, 1997). Before that, a seven-week such stretch occurred Aug. 20-Oct. 1, 1994, encompassing Lisa Loeb & Nine Storiesâ âStay (I Missed You),â written by Loeb; Boyz II Menâs âIâll Make Love to You,â penned by Babyface (Kenny Edmonds); and Luther Vandross and Mariah Careyâs âEndless Love,â written by Lionel Richie (who spent nine weeks at No. 1 with its original version, with Diana Ross, in 1981). GAYLEâs breakthrough hit âabcdefuâ hits a new Hot 100 best, rising 4-3. It concurrently ascends to No. 1 on the Pop Airplay chart. The song, previously a stand-alone single, will be on GAYLEâs debut EP, A Study of the Human Experience Volume One, announced Feb. 23 and due March 18. Adeleâs âEasy on Meâ dips 3-4 on the Hot 100, after 10 weeks at the summit. The ballad leads Radio Songs for a 14th week (71.5 million, down 4%), extending her longest stay atop the tally. Itâs also one of just nine titles to have led Radio Songs for at least 14 weeks, dating to the listâs December 1990 inception; The Weekndâs âBlinding Lightsâ reigned for a record 26 weeks in April-October 2020. Kodak Blackâs âSuper Gremlinâ rebounds from No. 6 to its No. 5 Hot 100 high, as it leads the multi-metric Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and Hot Rap Songs charts for a sixth week each; The Kid LAROI and Justin Bieberâs âStayâ slips 5-6 on the Hot 100, after seven weeks at No. 1; Bieberâs âGhostâ lifts 8-7 for a new highpoint; and Ed Sheeranâs âShiversâ backtracks 7-8, after hitting No. 4. Sheeranâs âBad Habitsâ surges back to the Hot 100âs top 10 (14-9), after it reached No. 2 for two weeks in August-September 2021. It gained by 12% to 10.4 million streams and 48% to 4,200 sold in the Feb. 18-24 tracking week following the Feb. 17 release of its remix featuring Bring Me the Horizon, which the two British acts previewed with a performance Feb. 8 at the 2022 Brit Awards. Rounding out the Hot 100âs top 10, Elton John and Dua Lipaâs âCold Heart (Pnau Remix)â also revisits the region (12-10), after it hit No. 7. John expands his span of top 10s to 51 years, one month and one week, dating to his first appearance in the top 10 with âYour Songâ (Jan. 23, 1971), the longest among all acts not involving holiday songs. âCold Heartâ tops the multi-metric Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart for a 20th week. âCold Heartâ additionally hits No. 1 on the Adult Pop Airplay chart, where John scores his first leader (after he previously peaked at a No. 4 best with âBlessedâ in 1996, the year that the list launched) and Lipa lands her third. The song topped Dance/Mix Show Airplay for 14 weeks starting last October, the sixth-longest reign since the chart began in 2003. Again, for all chart news, you can follow billboard and billboardcharts on both Twitter and Instagram and all charts (dated March 5), including the Hot 100 in its entirety, will refresh on Billboard.com tomorrow (March 1). MRC Data, the independent data provider to the Billboard charts, completes an exhaustive and thorough review of all data submissions used in compiling weekly chart rankings. MRC Data reviews and authenticates data, removing any suspicious or unverifiable activity using established criteria before final chart calculations are made and published. ^^At least, hopefully that's the last of Stay in the top 5. It looks like EOM is going to drop below it, and with Ghost appearing to hit a peak on radio (with Pop radio starting to drop it), I think Stay could squeeze out another week in the Top 5 on the 3/12 chart.

'Easy On Me' and 'Stay' are both still in the top 10 this week --- clearly radio driven. - both songs "feel" like they should have been dropped long ago. This is an outrage! Billboard needs to be boycotted until they remove radio from their formula -- LOL

Glass Animalsâ âHeat Wavesâ Hits No. 1 on Billboard Global 200 Chart Meanwhile, GAYLE's "abcdefu" leads the Global Excl. U.S. survey for an eighth week.
By Gary Trust Glass Animalsâ âHeat Wavesâ sizzles at No. 1 for its first week atop the Billboard Global 200 chart. Meanwhile, GAYLEâs debut hit âabcdefuâ adds an eighth week at No. 1 on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. survey. Plus, Becky G and Karol Gâs âMAMIIIâ reaches the top five of both the Global 200 and Global Excl. U.S. charts and Rauw Alejandro and Chencho Corleoneâs âDesesperadosâ enters the Global Excl. U.S. top 10. The two charts (which in September marked their first year) rank songs based on streaming and sales activity culled from more than 200 territories around the world, as compiled by MRC Data. The Billboard Global 200 is inclusive of worldwide data and the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart comprises data from territories excluding the U.S. Chart ranks are based on a weighted formula incorporating official-only streams on both subscription and ad-supported tiers of audio and video music services, as well as download sales, the latter of which reflect purchases from full-service digital music retailers from around the world, with sales from direct-to-consumer (D2C) sites excluded from the chartsâ calculations. âHeat Wavesâ Is Hottest on Global 200 Glass Animalsâ âHeat Wavesâ rises from No. 3 to No. 1 for its first week atop the Billboard Global 200 chart. The song drew 55 million streams and sold 5,000 (down 1% in each metric) worldwide in the Feb. 18-24 tracking week. The song by the British quartet â the bandâs Dave Bayley wrote and produced the song solo â crowns the Global 200 in its 60th week on the chart, more than tripling the prior longest such ascent: The Weekndâs âSave Your Tearsâ took 17 weeks before leading the list dated May 8, 2021, following the release of its remix adding Ariana Grande. Released in June 2020, âHeat Wavesâ subsequently gained prominence on TikTok, playing off its âall I think about is youâ lyrical hook, and trended especially strongly in late summer 2021, including via a clip from the band itself. (In the U.S., the song has also steadily scored radio success at multiple formats, topping Billboardâs Alternative Airplay chart for three weeks in March-April 2021 before leading Pop Airplay for two weeks beginning this January.) âWe Donât Talk About Bruno,â by Carolina GaitĂĄn, Mauro Castillo, Adassa, Rhenzy Feliz, Diane Guerrero, Stephanie Beatriz and the Encanto Cast, from Disneyâs hit animated film Encanto, dips to No. 2 after three weeks atop the Global 200. GAYLEâS âabcdefuâ drops 2-3 on the Global 200, after four weeks at No. 1; Becky G and Karol Gâs âMAMIIIâ surges 7-4 in its second week on the chart, up 13% to 63.2 million streams worldwide; and Elton John and Dua Lipaâs âCold Heart (Pnau Remix)â retreats 4-5, after reaching No. 3. âabcdefuâ Atop Global Excl. U.S. for Eighth Week GAYLEâs âabcdefuâ rules the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart for an eighth week, with 36.1 million streams (down 6%) and 5,300 sold (down 2%) in territories outside the U.S. in the Feb. 18-24 tracking week. âAbcdefuâ ties BTSâ âDynamiteâ for the third-longest Global Excl. U.S. reign, after The Kid LAROI and Justin Bieberâs âStayâ and Olivia Rodrigoâs âDrivers Licenseâ each dominated for nine weeks. Glass Animalsâ âHeat Wavesâ holds at its No. 2 Global Excl. U.S. best; Elton John and Dua Lipaâs âCold Heart (Pnau Remix)â repeats at No. 3, after reaching No. 2; Imagine Dragons and JIDâs âEnemyâ holds at its No. 4 high; and Becky G and Karol Gâs âMAMIIIâ jumps 10-5 in its second frame on the chart, up 25% to 49.4 million streams outside the U.S. Additionally, Puerto Ricoâs Rauw Alejandro and Chencho Corleoneâs âDesesperadosâ ascends to the Global Excl. U.S. top 10 (12-10), up 2% to 32.4 million streams outside the U.S. Alejandro achieves his second Global Excl. U.S. top 10, after âTodo de Tiâ rose to No. 3 last June, while Corleone earns his first. (The pair previously charted together with âEl Efecto,â which ranked at its No. 124 best on the inaugural Global Excl. U.S. tally in September 2020; Corleone previously was half of reggaeton duo Plan B, which tallied 11 entries on the U.S.-based Hot Latin Songs chart in 2006-17.) The Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts (dated March 5, 2022) will update on Billboard.com tomorrow (March 1). For both charts, the top 100 titles are available to all readers on Billboard.com, while the complete 200-title rankings are visible on Billboard Pro, Billboardâs subscription-based service. For all chart news, you can follow billboard and billboardcharts on both Twitter and Instagram.
