Got our tickets to Opening Night of her tour in Greenville, SC. Truly excited for it. My mom loves Carrie so much. We lost my dad recently and have all been trying to cope with losing him. I surprised my mom with the tickets and it meant the world to give her something to be excited about. 4 days to go! Opening night in Greenville, SC! I'm excited, but my Mom is beyond excited. It's all she talks about. She's telling everybody about it and how much getting to go means to her. I am so happy to be able to take her. Will be a wonderful show and a special memory to have with my mom. One plug for the location. If you've never been to Greenville, SC you should visit someday. It's one of the most beautiful downtowns in the US. Not too big, but growing, with a river running right through it and a suspension walking bridge. Not only do I live in Greenville, but I literally work right behind that bridge/park.

5 mediabase and I believe 6 on billboard. Correct me, anyone, if I'm wrong about Billboard In terms of the airplay charts, this is correct. On Country Songs, which is the official country singles chart for Billboard, I don't think it made the top 10; maybe a #12 peak? I knew I probably had billboard wrong. lol Thanks.

Wait...was Hate My Heart the song that was fucked up on Apple Music and everytime people clicked on it, Ghost Story played instead? OK. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

A lovely effort with the nice visuals too; but I don’t foresee anything this time around either (Best Country Album would be nice though). GS is certainly not getting ROTY or SOTY by a country mile.

I question why they submitted some of those anyway. Like, there is no way in hell that this is going to get album of the year, song of the year or record of the year at the Grammys lol.

Pretty sure it’s a formality. If I’m not mistaken, most artist’s teams submit to many categories, even if their chances are slim to none of scoring a nomination, much less a win.

For what it’s worth, some of the most random nominations and wins happen at the Grammys. While the chances are highly unlikely, it’s worth it to submit… I’m sure there are tons of artists and teams out there who submitted music they never thought would make the cut, until it did.

Sorry for double post but… Regarding more attainable accolades, Carrie is nominated for Female Country Artist and Country Album at the AMAs! Make sure to vote!!! She has a great shot at both, imo! www.billboard.com/amasvote/

She’s one of my favorite artists, but ugh.

I mean, Taylor is the favorite based on sheer numbers but somehow these awards usually end up being spread out pretty well, so I think Taylor will pick up many of her all genre and pop nominations, inexplicably leaving the country categories to other artists… Also, Carrie always stands a chance when it’s fan voted, no matter the competition!

Seeing that Red is nominated in the Pop category too, maybe they will try harder for that one and not the country category. I still think theres a chance it could happen. Definitely not a reason to not even try for it.

I am reminded of Ashley Tisdale's Guilty Pleasure album being submitted for AOTY 😂 I mean, it's my favorite country album of the year. I've also listened to this one in full far more than any of her other albums. I found BA, her most famous era, to be very top heavy. The singles were AMAZING, but so many filler songs on the rest of the album for me. Storyteller through D&R have been my favorite albums as a whole. I'm sure the Grammy's will be snobby, but I think it's a killer album. I genuinely enjoy it.

BA is an album where I think there was a great set of singles (Leave Love Alone, Do You Think About Me, Wine After Whiskey, Cupid's Got a Shotgun) completely separate from the ones that were singles.

Totally agree with the bold. Wine after Whiskey is the exception for me. It's one of my favorite non released songs, as well as What Can I Say & Starts With Goodbye... oh yea, and Choctaw

The singles are so different & better than the rest of the album, especially the later part. I listen to CP & D&R in full but D&R is the album I listen to most

Blown Away is probably her best work imo. It’s the most cohesive album in her discography and from beginning to end, you feel like you were on a journey. At least, that’s how I felt with BA.

The 1st six songs on BA >>>> the rest of the album. To this day, Play On is the still the most enjoyable and easiest album for me to listen to from start to finish. Then probably Storyteller and Carnival Ride.

I just think a lot of the other songs are good, too. I don't know how some of y'all are shading "Do You Think About Me."

Blown Away had really high highs (BA, TBC, SYA, GG, Do You Think About Me, Wine After Whiskey), but also a handful of songs I don't listen to (Nobody Ever Told You, Leave Love Alone, One Way Ticket, Cupid's, Who Are You (Carrie's worst song next to Play On?). I still think Storyteller is Carrie's best album from start to finish. The highs (Church Bells and Choctaw) match the best songs on Blown Away (except BA). The only song I tend to skip on ST is "The Girl You Think I Am". I know many don't care for "Clock Don't Stop" but I find that one fine tbh. The rest of the album ranges from good to great for me. I also just like the direction Carrie took with the album. It feels more country and less polished than her other albums. I would love for Carrie to switch it up next era and give us a 90s/early 2000 country concept album (not a covers album, although I'd love that too). I still play her cover of "Austin" with John Legend weekly and that's the sound I'd LOVE for her to capture on an album.

Maybe it could have had more chance of being a single. What a waste to be left as album track! Also.. no love for Good in Goodbye?! It's one of my most favourite Carrie co-writes ever. Should have been a single! That era was really about drama and power vocals. There's just no chance for easy listening songs to make it as singles, unfortunately. Especially when Carrie hardly ever likes to perform her softer songs.

Any predictions for the tour?
I think we’ll see most of the tracks from D&R, but I think “Faster”, “Garden”, and “Wanted Woman” will end up being used as instrumental interludes.
I think we’ll see the usuals crowd-pleasers “Undo It”, “Good Girl”, “Cowboy Casanova”, and “Last Name”. Wouldn’t be surprised to see “All-American Girl”, but at some point she’ll have to slim down the set list to account for the new stuff… That must be so tough to decide!
I think we’ll see very limited “slow” moments, I think she’ll do something similar to the Storyteller tour where she has a segment in the middle for her Jesus moments; I think she’ll do JTTW/HGTA - but I’d prefer just JTTW. There’s no surprise with that anymore.
I think there was rumblings that there might be a cover or two, like usual. I’m hoping she does something similar on a nightly basis for Loretta like she did for Dolly. If she were to incorporate a segment like this into the slower part of the show, I’d hope for a classic Loretta/Conway duet (which would be a great time to bring Jimmy out).. That’s just wishful thinking…
I think the encore will include BHC and D&R… with SITW officially closing the show before the encore.
Songs I wouldn’t be shocked if she omitted, “Cry Pretty”, “Smoke Break”, and “Two Black Cadillacs”.
Needless to say, I’m pumped!

"Wine After Whiskey" was the biggest missed opportunity from Blown Away in my opinion. Her singles discography lacks a strong country ballad along those lines. "I Told You So" fits the bill but it's a cover.
