Are we doing track #2s next?? 😬 Well, since you asked... now this is a quality list of songs: Blown Away - One of Carrie's best, still not tired of this one after many years of replay. Another song that is just quintessential Carrie and highlights all her unique strengths. Don't Forget To Remember Me - This one has also aged really well, have always loved this one. Love how youthful and country it is. Dirty Laundry - Also love how country this one is. Just a fun song. I particularly love how she delivers the verses. Ghosts On The Stereo - This is one of those songs that I don't necessarily seek out to play, but when it comes on, I really, really enjoy it. Velvet Heartbreak - I like it, but don't love it as much as many of her fans (although I do tend to start the album with this song). All-American - A great song and maybe even a signature song(?), I'm just burnt out on it. Quitter - Still not a bad song to me (like some of her closers), but it stands out on this list of otherwise really good songs.

Quitter is last for me. But other than that, please don't make me rank the rest. I can't. I love those tracks!

Love this game! And it's been eye-opening to see what others like best.
I almost always prefer Carrie's more country and or more substantive material so apparently my taste runs contrary to many on the board (though pop album cuts like Chaser and duets like Tears of Gold send me).
Openers:
1. Cry Pretty (I adore the waltz tempo on this song, the guitar solo, the personal lyrics, and the to-the-rafters rock belting. It's chaotic in the best way.) 2. Something in the Water (Why can't this be an opener? I mean technically it opened her greatest hits set...) 3. Wasted (A true classic.) 4. Good Girl (Fantastic live with killer vocals) 5. Flat on the Floor
6. Cowboy Casanova (see Good Girl) 7. Denim and Rhinestones
8. Renegade Runaway (Total junk)
2nd Tracks:
1. Blown Away (Flawless) 2. Ghosts on the Stereo (I LOVE this visual song and the bottom of her register is like warm molasses. I wish it had been a single.) 3. Dirty Laundry 4. Velvet Heartbreak
5. Quitter (Pure saccharine but I do love the bouncy rhythm paired with great country instrumentation)
6. All-American Girl 7. Don't Forget to Remember Me (Neither of these have aged well for me.)
Closers (Ugh. This is where Carrie's tendency toward treacly, banal sentimentality lives):
1. Kingdom 2. What I Never Knew I Always Wanted 3. I Ain't in Checotah Anymore 4. Wheel of the World 5. Garden 6. Who Are You 7. Play On

What a catalog. One of the best female country artists to debut in the 21st century.
Openers: 1. Cry Pretty (slapped me in the face and shoved the LGBTQ+ flags in my face. I came out—back then, as gay, because I was still hiding from myself—because of this song. It’s helped me so much since, so many different times. It’s talent of having lyrics that are open for interpretation despite having such a specific meaning for CU herself is something to marvel.) 2. Wasted 3. Renegade Runaway 4. Denim & Rhinestones 5. Cowboy Casanova 6. Flat on the Floor 7. Good Girl
Track 2: 1. Blown Away 2. Quitter 3. All-American Girl 4. Don’t Forget to Remember Me 5. Ghosts on the Stereo 6. Velvet Heartbreak 7. Dirty Laundry
Closers: 1. What I Never Knew I Always Wanted 2. Wheel of the World 3. I Ain’t In Checotah Anymore 4. Kingdom 5. Play On 6. Garden 7. Who Are You
Album Cuts: 1. Do You Think About Me 2. Wine After Whiskey 3. Good In Goodbye 4. Low 5. You Won't Find This 6. Poor Everybody Else 7. Someday When I Stop Loving You 8. The Night Before (Life Goes On) 9. Renegade Runaway 10. I Just Can't Live A Lie

I'd include "Some Hearts" but I don't know if it was considered a single or not.

Alright ladies gather round. Carrie’s best deep cuts are as followed. Zero questions will be taken at this time.
1) CHASER -the chills this gave me when I first heard it, the vocals, the production, the power mama would’ve had if she pushed this to pop radio
2) Choctaw County Affair -the production, the vibe, the story, there’s a reason many refer to this as the single that got away from Storyteller
3) Someday when I stop loving you -whoever thought that it was acceptable to leave this as an album track meet me out back, I’ve got a few words, I really wish she would’ve putout more of these as singles back when radio sent all her stuff to #1, would’ve added a nice new layer to her singles catalog.
4) Wine After Whiskey -pretty much the same I feel about the previous song, would’ve been nice to have more deep cuts like these as singles, when they were guaranteed to be successful earlier in her career.
5) Low -the vocals, the vibe, I actually wish this was the lead single over Cry Pretty.
6) Ghosts on the stereo -Miss Carrie why did we decide to leave THIS on the table. From an album that was not radio friendly at all this was one of the few that was a guaranteed #1. Such a slow burn, windows down, summer type song.
7) Relapse -Such a different sound for her, but it worked so well. The build up to the chorus is amazing. Should’ve been a single. Honestly Storyteller and Blown Away both could’ve easily gone 5-7 deep with the momentum she used to have as well as the material left in the albums.
8) You Won’t Find This -UNDERRATED! This is one of the best songs in her entire catalog, she has me hanging on every word. The chorus is fire! Towards the end of the song where she sings “In the end it’s me you’re gonna miss” literally makes me have all the feels.
9) Flat on the floor -I mean Carrie certainly acts like this was a single by keeping it on the setlist. And rightfully so. Would’ve been an easy #1 from Carnival Ride. Do see some people saying this should’ve been the lead, but happy it wasn’t as So Small is my favorite thing she’s done.
10) Good in Goodbye -Really think this could’ve been big since it was just shy of making the hot 100 as an album track (peaking at #8 I believe on the bubbling under chart.) The lyrics are stunning.
Honorable mentions:
Velvet Heartbreak -still has a chance but gut is telling me it’s a no. The chorus was made for radio and would be a hit.
Do you think about me -Should’ve been Blown Aways 5th single. Would’ve been a nice change of pace for the singles. Do think they did in fact pick the correct 4 singles if they were only doing 4 though. They just shouldn’t have stopped there.

Favorite album tracks (no particular order)
Starts With Goodbye Lessons Learned Flat on the Floor Get Out of This Town Someday When I Stop Loving You Do You Think About Me Wine After Whiskey Low Burn Velvet Heartbreak
Honorable mentions: The Night Before (Life Goes On), That’s Where It Is, I Know You Won’t, You Won’t Find This, Look at Me, Good in Goodbye, Chaser, Relapse, What I Never Knew I Always Wanted, Spinning Bottles, Pink Champagne
it’s hard to pit the new songs from D&R against the classics from her other albums (and who knows what other songs will be singles eventually) but currently I’d rank “Burn” and VH among her best

Favorite album tracks in chronological order! ❤️ Jesus take the wheel Just a dream Temporary home Blown away Something in the water Heartbeat Backsliding Favorite time of year Because he lives Burn I think by album tracks we mean songs that weren't promoted as singles : ) With that said, Backsliding, Because He Lives, and Burn are all great choices. Highlights from her special projects (that weren't promoted as singles?): My Gift: Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee - I honestly feel this is one of her most underated tracks on any album. The production and her voice are so ethereal. O Come All Ye Faithful O Holy Night Silent Night - The perfect book end to Joyful, Joyful My Savior: Nothing But The Blood Of Jesus - Made this sound current and really catchy. Just As I Am - Super peaceful. Because He Lives - Also sounds current and catchy. Softly And Tenderly - Always takes me back to the Vegas shooting tribute she absolutely crushed.

Top 10 album cuts for me, listed according to albums.
1. The Night Before (Life Goes On) - SH 2. You Won't Find This - CR (so underrated!) 3. Someday When I Stop Loving You - PO 4. Look At Me - PO 5. Do You Think About Me - BA 6. Good in Goodbye - BA 7. Chaser - S 8. Low - CP 9. Backsliding - CP 10. Faster - DR
The cry, the clarity, the yearning in her voice is absolutely made for soft and heartbreak ballads. I just wish Carrie herself would recognise that more!

If she had a performance or two this season 49k would’ve probably been 60-70k…
Impressive nonetheless! MG is already Gold, right?
