Unfortunately I doubt this is the announcement as Carrie posted so much about the tour being over. Seemed very final.

I feel like it’s either an announcement that OOTT is the next single with a deluxe on the way or that it’s the lead from a new album (less likely IMO).

I do feel like something is coming though.

Yes. She's already said the tour is over, she's moving onto Reflection. At this point an international tour wouldn't be until July/August? OOTT would be old news at that point. Semi related, there was a 2 week gap between the ACMs and Love Wins being pulled and replaced by Southbound, if OOTT was going to be pushed I suspect that would have happened by now.

As for new music, I don't expect CU8 for at least a year, but there was only around 3 months between Drinking Alone finishing on radio and My Gift being released, so we certainly can't rule out a side project at some point this year.

I think we need to remember that he says it’s big. I feel like out of the truck being a single isn’t big. I think the only things that could be classified as big is a deluxe edition of the album or lead single. But I’m not sure if it would be either of those because if they are gearing up for that why is HMH still on the chart? And I wonder what type of news radio insiders would know this much in advance

It’s indeed more dates to Reflection. Extended nearly to 2024.

Which means we can cross that off my guess list for what that huge announcement is going to be. If Cody Johnson has already confirmed the existence of a Carrie duet, we can scratch that off too. D&R deluxe seems most likely as a bigger announcement, but so does something like a CMAs return with Brad. Could also be SNF related as was pointed out (although the only major kind of announcement regarding that that I can think of would be her retirement from the gig, as touting her renewal as a huge announcement would be lame).

Could also be her replacing Blake on The Voice. Hadn’t thought of that, but that would be absolutely major for her at this point.

I forgot about The Voice thing, not gonna lie, but…I could see that being it, now that she’s going to be spending SO much more time on the west coast in Vegas. (Seriously, that’s a HUGE chunk of additional dates! Proud of her.)
LA is a 4 hour drive/1 hour flight away. And what better way to keep a successful residency going than by partnering it with a huge new career venture like that? It’s what Katy and Luke have done with Idol for the last couple of years.

Actually, the more I write it out, the more I think…that could be it. The Voice’s official page teasing that off-the-cuff John Legend interview way back when, saying she should replace Blake, feels a bit too intentional for there to not be some legitimacy to it. I think she’ll join The Voice in the fall, in tandem with these new Reflection dates.

Yeah The Voice would make sense even if it's not super exciting. With The Kelly Clarkson Show moving to New York this fall, I'm doubtful Kelly will continue doing The Voice long term too, so her slot would potentially be open. I don't know that I see both Kelly and Carrie doing The Voice at the same time even though I'd love it.

I know we've talked about it before on here but I don't think Carrie has the right personality to be on The Voice. She's more quiet and reserved and I don't know if that would be welcomed on something like The Voice but I would be pleasantly surprised if she turned out to do it.

I know Carrie has a reserved personality that isn’t typically what you’d see on The Voice, but Carrie won over America before and I’m sure she can do it again. I think giving people the opportunity to see how genuine, sweet, and caring she is will ultimately benefit her - even if she isn’t taking up space with her personality overtly.

Kelly got a ton of crap to start… “she talks too much”, “too much personality”, etc… but now she’s literally the face of an entire TV network. The haters will fill the air with their noise at first, but eventually that all fades. I’m sure if Carrie were to join it would ultimately be beneficial to her career.

Also, The Voice is purely concerned with ratings and audience retention. Carrie would likely help maintain their country demographics, and she would probably help them in terms of audience engagement/votes. She may not bring the same dominant female energy of someone like Kelly, but she would definitely bring a large audience of proven viewers and voters - which is ultimately what the show is about.


ETA: if Kelly and Carrie ended up sharing a season or two we might finally get a collaboration, so for this reason in addition to the given ones I’m in full support of Carrie joining The Voice. Carrie could also use some better friends… So in my dream world they’d become bffls.

ETAA: Also, I think “loyalty” to Idol stopped making sense like ten years ago. I don’t think Carrie makes career decisions based on loyalty to anything but her faith, and I don’t think there’s anything in the Bible saying she can’t do The Voice because she won a different show 20 years ago… I mean, I could be totally wrong but the OG Idol went to The Voice and no one is calling her a traitor. Lol.

Yeah, there’s not a “loyalty” thing with regards to Idol vs. Voice. It’s not like Kelly Clarkson or Jennifer Hudson don’t regularly acknowledge & celebrate their career origin. Hell, KC just got her star on the Walk of Fame and her inductees were Randy, Paula, and Simon. And J-Hud’s first guest when her talk show debuted was Simon.

She only added three more dates in Vegas. I guess I was confused why someone said that's a huge chunk of new dates. The others had already been previously announced. I would LOVE to see Carrie on the voice, I think she'd have a lot of good advice, and she can be quite funny. I don't see her doing it though. My guess is the news is something music related since Storme is from radio.

All this talk about the voice is fun, but no one really watches live TV anymore. Carrie, a few years ago, was asked if she’d ever act again. If we’re talking about TV, I’d love if it was that she was doing a new acting project and becoming like Reba and Dolly. But lol, I know that isn’t the announcement and probably will never happen. But I agree with Hil, it will be something radio related.

I just don’t think the new reflection dates are what Storme Warren was taking about. That’s not that big of news. We already knew she was going back and dates being added to this run were pretty much expected. I think we’ll know more closer to the ACM’s. It all depends on what she performs there. Plus she has her big Opry anniversary show coming up which I would say she could use to announce something. I don’t think it’s the Cody Johnson duet since he said the new album is coming late this year/early next year. Unless his team is using the duet as the lead single for the project and they are fast tracking the project for the fall. As far as The Voice goes, we should know who is or is not a coach on or before May 15, since that is the day of NBC’s Upfronts presentation for advertisers. I think she is gonna let HMH ride out until May and then move on to a new single. I feel right now it’s either a deluxe version of D&R or a whole new album either of those using OOTT as the lead single. That’s what I’m leaning to as of right now.

Was listening to the highway countdown on the highway this morning(OOTT was #28!) and boy Storme really is pushing whatever this news coming as something pretty big. But he says he can’t reveal yet. I am starting to wonder if it is indeed the voice and they are just waiting for this season to end first. i hope its not that, but if it is, i can’t deny it would be pretty big.

I can’t imagine NBC would let Storms Warren be the one to announce that. They hold that info super close to the vest. Upfronts start 5/15, so they’ll probably announce then.

Oh I def agree…OOTT is literally the same lyrically as GS but just more upbeat and better lol and then it has similar music to Burn, GS, and VH

I think I just really want a new album already lol plus we had those new co-writes surface and writers saying they were pitching songs to Carrie 😬

Yes, I totally agree with you, but it also reminds me a bit of Some Hearts or Carnival Ride, but you're probably right. Maybe it was a song she liked and knew it wouldn't make the new album, so they put it out because it was her birthday, and for hype?! And the news is a new album?

Does Storme actually say he's announcing it, or he just knows big news is coming?

BTW The Voice doesn't end until May 23rd, unless they would announce it on one of the shows. But they always change judges so it seems they would announce next seasons cast together?

I'm not in a rush for a new album as weird as it sounds. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE new Carrie music, but for the sake of how D&R was received I'd rather get a new album fall 2024. She's put out a new album every year since 2020 and I don't want the gp to get more fatigued than they already are (based on how D&R performed commercially.)

I say drop HMH and ship OOTT out to radio in part of a deluxe edition of D&R. Then follow it up with the Cody duet. THEN a lead single to whatever is next. Plus, the country album chart is really congested right now. I'd rather it die down some or else were looking at a peak of #3 or #4 of whatever the next album is.
