I'm not in a rush for a new album as weird as it sounds. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE new Carrie music, but for the sake of how D&R was received I'd rather get a new album fall 2024. She's put out a new album every year since 2020 and I don't want the gp to get more fatigued than they already are (based on how D&R performed commercially.) I say drop HMH and ship OOTT out to radio in part of a deluxe edition of D&R. Then follow it up with the Cody duet. THEN a lead single to whatever is next. Plus, the country album chart is really congested right now. I'd rather it dye down some or else were looking at a peak of #3 or #4 of whatever the next album is. So interesting you mention gp fatigue! I’ve been thinking lately if the gp really does get fatigued these days. Taylor Swift is so prolific and it seems the gp is more in love with her than ever. Lover 2019, Folklore 2020, Evermore 2020, Fearless (TV) 2021, Red (TV) 2021, Midnights 2022. That’s a lot of material in just a few years and I haven’t heard much discussed about her overexposure. I wonder if it’s because of her massive fan base and obsession. Interesting topic nonetheless! Guess I can just never get sick of Carrie personally so I always want new stuff! 😂

I know what you mean! I think this is a transitional period for her right now perhaps. She is becoming a legacy act so I suppose we can’t expect the old numbers (though it would be nice 😭) It’s awesome that she’s in a place where she can explore more artistic freedom. I can’t say it enough, but Denim & Rhinestones deserved better. Such an amazing album. I hope she knows how much it’s loved by some fans.

Was Denim & Rhinestones really well received though? I loved it but I've also seen a lot of negativity about the album with many people saying they want something more in the style of Storyteller instead.

I completely disagree about fatigue. I think the GP thought she went away, and didn't even count the Christmas and gospel albums. Radio interviews kept asking her when she was coming out with new music, noting cry pretty was three years ago or something at the time. If anything she needs to put (country) music out at faster pace than every three to four years. I think since D&R didn't connect (even though I personally love it) she needs to go in a different direction and get the audience into another project. When you look at history Dolly and Reba have a ton of albums. Crazy numbers like 44 or something. The guys are putting out double albums every year, or every other year. Take out Greatest Hits (same songs except two), Christmas & Gospel (covers, except a few), she only has 7 albums. Just my opinion for what it's worth lol I feel like the public think she disappears.
BTW I don't think 2024 is that long if she sends something to radio (OOTT) and has the Cody duet. So I'm not disagreeing with the time period, just the whole fatigue thing.

I agree I’ve seen more people wishing she did an album like storyteller or “old Carrie”. I’m not sure if I understand how the general public is fatigued by Carrie. I think the gp is more confused by what direction she is going considering Cry Pretty and Denim and Rhinestones.

So someone brought to my attention "BIG STARS" are going to be filling in on Idol for Lionel and Katy when they go play for King Charles on May 7th. This, IMO, is probably the big news. I could see her doing a week of judging over doing a season. I'd be more stoked about The Voice because it focuses more on the judges ha ha. Probably why they never have any stars come out of there. It's all about the coaches. At least that's my thoughts after watching this season. I love the Holly girl on there. Her voice is freaking phenomenal. Anyhoo. Probably Storme's big news. Just guessing.

Unsurprisingly, the news wasn't worth the hype.
Edit: To be fair, I suppose it probably is big news for Sirius.

The post does say they “have a lot in store”. I’m sure there is more coming. You’d think they would wanna have something new to promote on her own radio show….

Ugh, I hope that's not all of it. Those channels pop up all over Sirius now. Not sure they have much of an impact. But, any promo is good promo, I guess.

Does anyone know what a typical Sirius artist channel would entail? I feel like I don’t even know what that means… Will she be hosting a show? Just playing her music and her faves?

Carrie’s gonna be on the Howard Stern show tomorrow - should be interesting. I wonder if he’ll do some of his usual personal digging?
Her team probably gives him a rundown of what to cover, but he’s not one to follow direction, so I wonder if this will give us open/fun Carrie or awkward Carrie.

Howard is actually a great interviewer so I think this could be a chance for us to see a side of Carrie we don't usually see. Thanks for the heads up!

Read that a new co-write has just been registered on ASCAP.
Save Goodbye (Underwood, Greg Kurstin, Josh Miller).

She hasn’t from what I recall…this could go really good or really bad if he’s involved with production of CU10 (yes, My Gift/My Savior count as 7 and 8 in my head) if it is indeed what is coming soon. Humble Quest was…something! On the flip side, I like that she’s branching out and working with new people.

I’m excited to listen to it. Apparently it was a great interview and an hour and a half too!

Her response to his comments about judging reality competition shows was interesting. She *almost sounded defensive… hmmmm??
Her comments about the pressure of being “Carrie Underwood”, but not actually being the extroverted country diva people come to expect was interesting too.
The Botox bit… our girl loves her luscious lips lol.

The Howard Stern interview is the best I’ve heard from Carrie in years. She’s been pretty disengaged and over interviews for a while now -lots of the same canned responses. But she really opened up with him. I mean, I don’t think anyone else could get her to admit to loving Botox like that. All of the performances were excellent too. Both Howard and Robin seemed to walk away being Carrie fans.
I laughed when she mentioned that there was a time when her agent got calls from athletes to set up dates.

youtu.be/14xEuqenBKEHe was surprisingly respectful (in his own way). A few cringy comments but it sorta drove her to be more transparent. I don’t think I’ve ever thoroughly enjoyed a Carrie interview, but this was a refreshing and somewhat enjoyable listen! She sounded amazing on the performances, of course, but I’m still more enthralled that she openly admitted to liking botox, and she even went so far as to say she would probably do it anyway even if she wasn’t injured a few years back. I loved that he responded saying she’s beautiful and doesn’t need any of that. I hope she knows she’s beautiful, she seemed rather down about her appearance in that moment - not because of what he said, but because her answer was honestly quite surprising. She really does struggle with self esteem and confidence despite being an absolute queen. It’s easy to forget we’re just people when it’s all said and done, even Carrie. I loved how Howard was so into her band, he thought so highly of her entire crew and it was evident. Cody Johnson also recently expressed how impressive her entire team is… I think this is a HUGE compliment to Carrie. She seems like an amazing boss! Overall, I hope we start seeing Carrie open up a little more like she did - maybe that’s the idea behind having a radio show? Aside from the music focus, of course. For a few months I’ve been the most disinterested I’ve ever been as a Carrie fan, so this definitely brought back a little bit of the fan connection that has been lacking during this quiet album era. ETA: I wanna know more about the donkey story and how that all came to be… and who from her fellow Idol contestants had a donkey to give? Lmao.
