^I was thinking about her acting "career" actually the other day. How likely is it she ever acts again? I don't really remember how well The Sound of Music actually did.

Carrie was asked a year or so ago if she’d ever act again and she said never say never ^I was thinking about her acting "career" actually the other day. How likely is it she ever acts again? This is true, but the thing is, when she did HIMYM, she was praised highly. The writers even wrote more jokes for her. So maybe she is best acting in comedy. Of course, I saw no complaints in Soul Surfer either, and if she wants to act she can always work on it too. I personally want her to one day. All the legends dabble in acting. Faith, Tim, Dolly, Reba, etc

Just feels kinda weird to be a Carriefan right now honestly. Seeming the era has officially ended with HMH starting it's decent down the charts, with her changing her cover picture to promote her residency it just feels like it's confirming this era is done.
It just kind of feels like this era never really got started to me. With two singles that made virtually no noise. Idk, feels like this era could've been a lot better if it was handled differently.

...so they're really just gonna keep "Burn" as an album track? And for what? "Heart Hate"? "Truck Stop"? SIGH. That song still hasn't, er, burned on me, and just feels like quintessential, talkin'-bout-whiskey-and-exes Carrie Underwood, complete with a power chorus and a 2000s classic country instrumentation that also doesn't feel dated. A highlight on a really middling album.

Yeah. This era made less noise than the Christmas album era which was a pandemic released album. There just was never any noise this era, even Carrie seemed oddly quiet when she wasn’t on tour. Previous eras just had a lot more going on than this one did. It just felt so quiet and not much happened. Of course the single choices were completely wrong, but even if they weren’t, this era just seemed to not even really exist or see much of a push at all. It basically seems like every decision was wrong this era. I don’t know what happened but I hope we never have to go through a 13 month, dead era again. There’s a lot to do differently next era… hopefully someone does make changes

For this era being labeled as "fun", I'm not sure where that "fun" went... So many missed opportunities.

I really hope Carrie/her team take a hard look at this era and try to improve for next era. It's almost like Carrie/her team/Universal took a nap for the era. It felt nonexistent, aside from the tour (which was US only and fewer dates than she usually does...but amazing, of course). From the wrong single choices to the lack of promo this era will go down as a disaster, and hopefully Carrie's worst (meaning, hopefully future eras do better and are managed better). I'm just not sure what happened with this era.
They could try to fix their problems and release OOTT to bridge the gap between this era and next. I'm absolutely floored that it has more streams than any song from D&R (except the two radio singles).
I even came across a viral tiktok with it in it, and every comment mentioning it talks about how they love it, love her music when it sounds like this, and how she’s “returning to her roots” with OOTT

It felt like Carrie herself lost interest in promoting her album.

The fans can have such high expectations sometimes lol I still think Carrie is doing just fiiiiiine and has spoiled us plenty lately. We got a Christmas album, a Gospel album, and a standard album ALL WITHIN 3 years! Not to mention a full tour, a Vegas residency (multiple times), countless Opry performances, Stagecoach headliner, etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc.
Sure, better single choices could have been made but it’s not like Carrie has just been MIA and completely given up on her career lol she’s out there balancing fame and a family…something most of us have the privilege of never having to worry about
She prob just wants us to be there for her, trust her judgment, and sit back and enjoy the riiiiiide 🎡

Nothing in that video made me think it's not the next single. Especially talking about Carrie's timing being important, and then her pulling Hate My Heart around the same time that Human is peaking.

Yeah. They just pulled HMH and this era is likely over, so I imagine they will release it soon. She always has a duet after every era

Weird timing, and I guess that means the Cody duet isn't until next year.

The Little Truckers won. It’s connecting so well on streaming. The GP needs it. 🛻
I don’t think this era is over and I fully expect an announcement of the Deluxe edition at the Fan Club Party. I’m pretty sure “Drunk & Hungover” (Hillary Lindsey, Nicolle Galyon, Jordan Reynolds) was recently recorded by her.

I feel like this gives her the best shot at going #1 out of all of her UMG singles. I don't even think "Southbound" was connecting this well before it was a single.
It just feels so Carrie. Feels like it could've been easily on Some Hearts or Carnival Ride. Feel like this is a good way to get back some of the attention that was lost on D&R, for all the people saying they missed the "old Carrie."

OOTT is just the ultimate earworm imo. If Carrie wants hits, she should keep working with Lydia Vaughan. She’s the co-writer on “If I Didn’t Love You,” “Crazy Angels,” and OOTT.

Hooe this means a D&R deluxe is coming. Too good of an album to not get a second wind.

Happy to see they’re moving on!!
Here’s what I want:
D&R Deluxe with the announcement of the D&R Tour coming to a streaming service. Updated RIAA certifications to spruce up the press releases, and some talk show/reality show appearances throughout the summer and fall. I hope OOTT smashes, she’s been due for a momentum shift for some time… if she could score a hit, followed by the inevitable hit she and Cody Johnson will have, she might be able to breathe real life into the rest of this album era.

The whole talk show/reality show thing kinda hard. Most are shut down during the summer, which left her with limited options when she first released D&R. The fall is definitely a possibility depending on the writers strike. I do hope there is some decent promotion in some way if she is releasing a deluxe or EP

There is more! An official add date! That’s the date right before her next Opry performance for CMA FEST week. I bet we hear more about what OOTT is attached to (if it is attached to anything) anytime before or around that time.

I think i’m the only one who is not amazed by ‘Truck’. I mean it’s a good song, but i still prefer Burn, Faster, and Pink Champange over it. The production reminds me of If I Didnt Like You, which i also did not really enjoy (except Carrie’s harmony). But hopefully it does as well as IIDLY. Lets hope we get a killer video.

Aside from "Burn", which I think is a huge missed career opportunity, I feel this is Carrie's best shot at a moderate sized hit from this era. I actually probably would have made this the lead with "Burn" as the follow-up single. She Don't Know/Velvet Heartbreak could have closed out the era as the 3rd. I do wonder whether her team kept this off the album intentionally to have a strong song for a potential deluxe or if they really just threw an unreleased song out there to see how it did and noticed the positive reactions and pivoted. As far as personal taste, I'd rank this consistently inside my top 5 on the album depending on the day (along with Burn, Ghost Story, Velvet Heartbreak, She Don't Know, and Poor Everybody Else). It definitely grows on you, which I think is evident considering its consistency with streaming since its release. I'm confident in a top 5 peak and a better showing on the Hot Country Songs Chart than the first two singles, but I'm hesitant to predict a #1, considering it's been a minute.

Top Tier (absolutely love them)
Velvet Heartbreak Burn Crazy Angels Poor Everybody Else She Don't Know
Mid Tier (very good when I'm in the mood for them)
Ghost Story Pink Champagne Out Of That Truck
Bottom Tier (good in the context of the album, but not much desire to listen to them outside of that)
Denim & Rhinestones Hate My Heart Faster Wanted Woman Garden
I was certainly not impressed with OOTT on first listen, but it has grown on me quite a bit. Honestly my biggest issue with it is that I really don't want a D&R Deluxe. If this was a lead single to a "From The Vault" career retrospective I'd probably end up being obsessed with it.
