What's everyone wanting for single 2? I was thinking any of Crazy Angels Velvet Heartbreak She Don't Know or Burn Burn for single #2 or #3. It will be the biggest hit off this album and I really hope they release it. With the excrutiatingly long chart runs, to fans/chart watchers, picking singles is more important that ever (even if radio airplay isn't). The other options after Burn that I'd like to see them pick from: She Don't Know, Velvet Heartbreak, and Hate My Heart. I think Crazy Angels can be a successful single, I just don't care for it. I really hope Pink Champagne remains an album track. I do think one of these two will be a single, unfortunately. ETA: Why have I started like the last 5 new pages on this thread? :O

Add my name to the petition for Burn to be released as a single.
Anyone else think we aren't getting more than 3 singles?

Agree with everything you said. "She Don't Know" is my favorite, but "Burn" may be the best decision to go with. But, my gut says we get "Crazy Angels" or "Pink Champagne."

Add my name to the petition for Burn to be released as a single. Anyone else think we aren't getting more than 3 singles? I could see them stopping at three. Unless these next singles go up the chart faster than GS and move the needle more than that one. I hope we still get four though. She doesn't exactly churn out new country material as fast as her peers, so I really think it'd be smart to still go four deep to keep her name out there while she works on her next album. Even if the album has been out a while when it gets released. Maybe even release a deluxe edition later in the era and make the fourth single one of the deluxe tracks.

I’d imagine Burn next and either or both Crazy Angels and She Don’t Know (reception has been good). zdm1998 we already hate this trend of releasing deluxe afterwards.

I’ll die on the Pink Champagne hill, but Burn is fine with me, too.
Doesn’t have to be a single, but I’ll need a televised performance of Poor Everbody Else somewhere. I want fire, leather, and extensions down to her ribcage.

Burn has been burned for me (pun intended). Ghost story is a mid-tempo song about a relationship that's over -- so is Burn. In Ghost Story he misses her, in Burn she misses him. Releasing back to back songs with the same theme will not be received well and lead to impressions that Carrie is creatively stagnant. Burn could have led the album as it's much better than Ghost Story, but since that didn't happen Burn should be off the table.
I agree that we'll only get three singles so all of them need to be distinct in subject matter and tempo. My vote is for Velvet Heartbreak or Hate My Heart next because she needs to put some life into this era, some bop. Then She Don't Know.
Of course if I'd had my way she would have released Pink Champagne and then Burn as pre-release singles. Then release the album with Velvet Heartbreak or Hate My Heart, then She Don't Know, and finish up with the out-of-the-box choice of Poor Everybody Else because the live performance would be legendary.

I follow your logic here, but if that is the path they follow that could lead to Pink Champagne being next. Uptempo, relationship-in-tact, love song. She doesn't do many of those at all. She's said many times she's not typically a love song person. So for her, choosing Pink Champagne would be a departure theme-wise. I don't think Wanted Woman or Faster (both love song themes) fit country radio. Pink Champagne pushes the limits of country, too. At this point, I just hope they go with one of the strongest songs, which, if not Burn, would come from one of your votes above. Either of those would make for a good CMA-premiere performance. Not sure there is a "moment" opportunity with any single option from the album at the CMAs, though. God, I wish she'd done "Low" in a high-profile performance slot back in the day. Now that song would have been a moment.

It's been the one I've suspected they would choose from the beginning, so it wouldn't surprise me at all. If it is the choice, I hope it does well. The chorus gets a little repetitive, but many of the biggest songs are big because of a sing-a-long, repetitive chorus.

I wouldn't take that as confirmation. If you look through the past blog entires, there are multiple non-singles.
But, after thinking about it some more, I do think "Pink Champagne" has the most streaming/TikTok hit potential on the album. I'm just concerned that it's one of the least safe choices for Country radio. I'm not sure if it will test well, and programmers basically abandon any song from a female vocalist with poor callout.
On the other hand, "Burn" sounds like an easy #1 Country radio hit. I bet it will test at least as well as "Ghost Story." I also think it has the most potential for a high impact live performance.
Anyway, I'm starting to believe the only real choices are "Pink Champagne" & "Burn." I love "Crazy Angels," "Velvet Heartbreak," and "Hate My Heart" but those all seem like relatively low impact choices to me. "Pink Champagne" & "Burn" just seem like the more rewarding choices imo.

I vaguely remember Burn after countless listens to the album, so I guess that's a plus? Meanwhile, Pink Champagne never leaves my brain. Velvet Heartbreak is a close second. The chorus is flawless. She Don't Know is my least favorite on the album.

There are clearly better options and I’m tired of her team skipping over them and releasing worse songs. It would be one thing if the singles they picked smashed and I’d happily eat my words, but they don’t. I’m still annoyed with last eras Single #2 (Love Wins) getting released over songs such as Backsliding and End Up With You. Now is the time to avenge that choice. Give us Burn or SDK.

Sorry...She Don't Know is not the kind of sound I'm into. It also sticks out like a sore thumb on the album. Maybe if Carrie released a traditional country album, it would work, but here? It doesn't.

She Don't Know is my least favorite on the album. Yeah I listened to “Burn” not long ago and couldn’t sing it for anyone now if I had to, though I do think it would test well. Still, “GS” tasted well and so what as it hasn’t done anything for the album or her legacy? Riskier songs that have an chance of being remembered seem more ideal to me.

"Burn" remains the least memorable song on the album for me. It's been like that since release and I've always felt left out when everyone else seemed to love it.

I am with those who can't seem to remember Burn as well as some other songs, even though I have listened to the album so many times. If someone asks me to sing a few lines from it now, I actually need to make an effort to recall the melody.
Velvet Heartbreak though for example, the chorus is instant.

PC is fresh, stands out in a positive way, is easy to sing along to, has that potential for TikTok success, and would bring suuuuuch a fun change of pace to her singles catalog. It was featured on several major non-Country-focused playlists on Spotify and Apple Music for weeks upon/after D&R’s release. I hope it really is the 2nd single, and I hope it does well so some of y’all can start placing your orders for how you’d like your crow prepared.

I’m with you here, it’s my personal favorite on the album. But I don’t see them ever releasing it as a single… PC is my first choice for a single and has been since we all heard it. It’s safe, but also refreshing and new. I think it has a hook that could really catapult the song in terms of popularity, and I think radio would probably get on board with it pretty easily. Personally, I think it would’ve made a better lead single and it should have been given the summer instead of GS, but that ship sailed. VH, CA, and SDK would be my other picks at this point, though I still could get behind pretty much any song on this album… because it’s THAT good. I get the love for “Burn”, but it hasn’t taken for me like it has for most fans, it seems.

My Top 3:
1. Poor Everybody Else 2. Pink Champagne 3. Faster
I doubt I will get to hear #3 live, but as long as I get the first two (preferably with Poor Everybody Else as the opener), I will leave happy. November, soon come!
