YES MA'AM. This sounds so good. Sounds like a return to form for her after her experimental Cry Pretty era.

Ahh I like the lyrics a lot but absolutely hate the production I hope it’s one of them songs of hers that grows on me like a lot of hers has for me in the past

The album that never ends... I mean 'THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT: THE ANTHOLOGY' out now!

I hope it's one of the shortest songs on the album and that she doesn't follow the short song trend overall. She hasn't been doing that so I'm going to hope she continues that way.

I think this will be a nice hit for her. It has more of a sing-along quality than most of her singles.
I love her lower register in the bridge. The moment of the song for me.

The clip at least has big David Garcia contemporary Christian music production all over it.
I know that's probably Carrie's favorite and direction moving forward, but I really really miss fiddle, twang, stomping, etc.

The only thing they’ve made together than I was completely wowed at was My Savior (and Low.)

It's fine, nothing special. Nothing bad, just something about this song isn't clicking and it's maybe the production. Like something just sounds off to me.
I just don't know if I see radio really taking to this all the way to #1 as it doesn't scream a song to be heard many times a day by listeners.

This is such a step down from lead singles like Cry Pretty or Cowboy Casanova. It's fine, but it's not an instant hit for me, this isn't even as good as If I Didn't Love You honestly.

This was just so-so for me too. I didn't dislike it but it didn't grab me like a single of hers should.

A super weak song. I’m very disappointed honestly. 😱🙃

This is a good album cut, but I'm honestly a bit underwhelmed knowing this is the song she's choosing as a lead-off single to her first album of OG country material in four years. I definitely like it and can see it growing on me more with repeated listens, but it doesn't blow me away by any means and it feels a bit "there" as her big comeback to country radio. I was kinda expecting her to come out of the gate swinging harder than this.

After midnite with Granger Smith is playing “Ghost Story” right Now. It sounds great on radio.

After about 5 listens (so far)…… i think i agree with all of this. hoping i change my mind but right now, its pretty much where i’m at

Yeah, this is easily her weakest lead single (one of her weakest singles period, to be honest). It just is okay, nothing special. Still excited for the era because she always has gems.
Oh, and ghost story as a phrase is absolutely horrific. No one says that lol.

I don’t listen to country radio or seek out country music that much anymore, but I quite like this.

I’m not loving where her voice sits in that production she sounds good but like muted to me. Going to have to try on better speakers.
It’s alright, I don’t love the hook but it’s fine. The production isn’t full on Christian sounding but it’s very close, im hoping it’s not a trend for the whole album but I just don’t think I like her paired with David really.
I’m sure this will grow on me but I would’ve thought something of higher quality would’ve been coming given how long a break and her access to whatever material she wants. To me this might just mean her taste and mine aren’t aligning and that’s okay but I miss being wowed by every thing she put out.

This is good, but I’m a little underwhelmed; it starts out a little off with her talking/singing before the chorus, but the chorus is good. Kind of wish she came out swinging harder than this after being gone from radio so long, especially after how underwhelming the Cry Pretty era was.
idk if I would’ve chose this as a lead single to an album though and I don’t know how I see radio taking to this.
Edit: It’s growing on me. Don’t really care for the first 40 ish seconds of it, but after that it’s pretty good. Love the last 30 seconds of the song the most.

Her weakest lead (was previously "Cry Pretty" for me).
