Morgan Wallen vs 6ix9ine on Good Friday. Look like fun on Twitter. Is the 6ix9ine thing going to be an album or a song? If it’s a song, Dangerous is probably going to top the Billboard 200 after more than a year away. I believe it's just a single. I'm not sure any big releases are releasing an album on Friday besides SHM, so you're probably right, Dangerous might return to #1 if he does indeed release a new single on Friday. |

I'm not going to speculate how well Morgan Wallen's new single will do in sales and streaming to protect my sanity. All I will say is that it won't be getting country radio right away because his label is currently working Wasted On You as (purportedly) the final radio single from Dangerous. And with how good that song's streaming still is over a year after its release, no way they'll drop it in favor of an apparent one-off, even if that song does well out of the gate.

I don't think that sales number is remotely plausible for him in this day and age, with how dead digital sales are effectively now. i could see it being in that brandon song territory (48k). i mean, even adele's comeback was 74k. The closest thing I can think to compare it to rn is 7 Summers, which did 28k week 1 and debuted 6th on the hot 100. That though was thanks to the song going viral on Tik Tok, and its also worth noting digital sales are pretty well down since the fall of 2020. |

I think the most recent example is Drake’s Way 2 Sexy sampling I’m Too Sexy by Right Said Fred and both of them peaked at #1, but besides that i can’t think of anything else right now. can't think of another example at the moment either but I wanna point out we did get pretty close just this week with Big Energy sampling Fantasy, which in turn samples Genius Of Love which went #1 in my heart |

How did no one mention Nice for What (which samples Lauryn Hill) yet? This feels like Jack's Nice for What. Also Old Town Road, 7 Rings, I Like It, In My Feelings, Bodak Yellow are all recent #1s with samples or interpolations. The one who asked specifically asked about #1 hits that sampled other #1 hits. None of the ones you mentioned sampled/interpolated a #1 hit. |
